  1. Finished Knuckleduster: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15202 I did the first verse and main chorus only, with the piano part at the end to keep the length ~2:00. Fun stuff : )
  2. Thanks guys/girls : ) Its good to know that I accomplished the groove I was going for. Now just to give it direction and variance.... Well, I got another update: http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/BasementFunk.mp3 Right now I have the overall structure I want, and I dont plan onlengthening the overall song anymore, but like you said Leah, I still need to go back and add some more harmonies etc. And thickening the soundscape is one of my biggest difficulties as a novice remixer....what kind of sounds do u guys think would help to add depth to the soundscape without convoluting it? And what do u think of the overall arrangement so far?
  3. Good so far overall. The cymbals get a bit overbearing after a while IMO, and if my memory of this source serves me right, I think the parts of the arrangement where you use the source are a little too close to the original, though the new chords you put in definitely help. I think it would help you to vary the notes of primary melody as well, at least in the second and third choruses. You should try and throw more interpretation in there.
  4. Aside from the mediocre synth quality, the biggest issue right now is similarity to the source. The majority of songs that get rejected on here are due to not enough deviance from the source material. You really need to reinterpret it more....just keep trying though. You could make this nice if you add your own passages and harmonies to it...just keep at it man : )
  5. Finished it: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15156 That was a nice song....real funky. The steps peak at a borderline 9 (almost a 10). You guys give some good requests for stepfiles. And DarkAura, I'll finish up Knuckleduster tommorrow. I usually limit myself to 1 stepfile a day (due to school and work).
  6. Ok, heres the song: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15110 This was a really laid back, yet funky piece, so the levels peak at 10, nothing too difficult. it was definitely a fun song to work on. Next?
  7. I got em, two mixes of each....here ya go: Let the Beat Hit Em:http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/Letthebeathitem.zip Let the Beat Hit Em (Classic RandB Style):http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/LetthebeathitemCLASSICRBSTYLE.zip Put your Faith in Me:http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/PUTYOURFAITHINME.zip Put your faith in me (Jazzy Groove):http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/PUTYOURFAITHINMEJazzyGroove.zip
  8. Brushfire, I was lookin for the 5th mix megamix, but I couldnt find it. After combing through various websites, I did stumble upon a DDR Megamix called the Pop'n Megamix. It consists of 1998, B4U, Afronova, Matsuri Japan, Bag, Can't Stop Fallin in Love, Broken my Heart, Love Again Tonight, and the Legend of MAXX. And its only 2:30, so it didnt take too long to make all difficulties (Expert being a tough 11). And Atmuh and DarkeSword, I fixed Sakura no Kenshi so its no longer misspelled : ) That was a great song btw. Heres the Megamix: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15082 And Gollogagh, I would love to work on zircon's Throwdown next, put up a link : ) So what to work on next....just post a link and I'll get to it.....
  9. Heres the stepfile to Sakura no Keshi: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15054 I made steps from novice to expert. All difficulties can be done on pad, though the expert steps are a level 12 (which is up near the keyboard levels). I only did the first 2 minutes (to keep the length aroung ITG range), and I based the levels off ITG levels, so theyre a little tougher than DDR. I did a banner background, though it was a bit rushed. Well enjoy : ) Any other requests?
  10. If you want to give your bass more presence, which will help to thicken the low end of your soundscape, layer up multiple samples. For example, your current kick sounds very sharp and stacatto...layer than with a rounder kick to help balance it out, and alter thier volume and delay until you find a very balanced sound. As for treble, I suggest working with more effects on your synths, like delay and reverb. In fact, those two effects are crucial for creating the phantasmic atmposphere associated with trance. Flanging and phasing can be good too, though its way too easy to go overboard with them , so be careful.
  11. Heres the last of my Sonic CD Stepfiles: Metallic Madness: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15034 Also I've been wantin to work on a new stepfile, but Im not sure of what song? Anyone have a particular song theyd like a stepfile to? If so, leave a link up here and I'll have 1 done in a couple days. Also, lemme know if you want pad, keyboard, or both.
  12. Updated the song, added 1 more minute to it, incorporated more of the source into it. Right now Im focusing more on my arrangement, later on I'll focus more on customizing my samples. Again, this is only a sample, Im going to develop this much further. Here it is: http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/BasementFunk.mp3
  13. Ok, heres the source: http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/TeamRocketHideout.WAV
  14. I had really hoped for a steel evolution of Eevee in this game......maybe next time : (
  15. Its about time they added some challenge to the game....I still need to get my copy. On an unrelated note, Ive finally hit Goomba : )
  16. Just curious, how long did it take you to make this?
  17. This will easily cut my sequencing time by half.......good stuff : )
  18. Ok....Ive been makin stepfiles for a good while now (I had a bunch on Bemanistyle 6.0 before it was updated), and Ive managed to dig up my old Sonic CD stepfiles. I just posted 6 on Bemanistyle if anyones interested, and I'll be posting the 7th tomorrow (Bemanistyle limits the number of stepfiles you can post in a day). The Japanese Sonic CD had one of the best sonci soundtracks ever to me, second only to Sonic 3D Blast. And Im much better at making stepfiles than I am at making music : ) My name on theres is DJ Draco, so if you search for my stuff, you'll find all of em Ive posted thus far. Well, heres the links: Palmtree Panic: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=14999 Collision Chaos: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15000 Tidal Tempest: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15001 Quartz Quadrant: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15002 Wacky Workbench: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15003 Stardust Speedway: http://www.bemanistyle.com/sims/simfile.php?id=15004 Metallic Madness: Coming tommorrow : )
  19. This is my second time around with the Team Rocket Hideout source, Im liking where Im going with this so far, Im focusing more on the bass in this piece to create a funk-groove (quite the opposite of my first Team Rocket mix). Ive only completed about a minute of it so far, so this is really a short sample of where I wanna take this. Its by no means the complete mix, but just a start : ) Well, here it is: http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/BasementFunk.mp3
  20. Just curious, how many people on here play Stepmania?
  21. You could try linking them all through multiple Spider Audio convergers, then linking those through a single Spider Audio Converger and linking that to the mixer. Only problem is if you do this, you would have to change the volume/EQ of each sound through its individual device, you couldn't do it through the mixer.
  22. This was a nice, relaxing groove. I agree that some more variation would boost the feel of the song, but make sure you keep it within the emotion you're going for. Its real easy to clutter a song like this if youre not careful. Really good work though.
  23. Not bad for a start. It has a groove to it, though theres not as much variation as I would like (the guitar that comes in at the beginning stays for the rest of the song, which gets a little stale). Good start though.
  24. Now I can unequivocally say Im really feelin this mix. You added some variation, threw in some particularly nice effects....this was a whole lot more enjoyable to listen to, and I liked ur first one. The soundscape seems a little convoluted at points, but it doesnt distract me from the overall song. Quite a quick update, but clearly youve made great improvements.
  25. This is a mix Ive been workin on for a little over a week now, based off of the Champion Battle theme from R/B/Y. I based the style mainly around DDR/ITG Speedcore (like Fascination Maxx, Vertex, for anyones whose played either one), so it has some surprise intensity changes, pauses, etc. Similarly, I named it Elite 400 because the song is 400 bpms. Well, here it is http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/Elite400.mp3
