  1. [quote='[\()/];262444']Im going to choose Piplup. Its final evolution is water/steel and thats good.
  2. Absolutely. Its the only reason why "Bag" from DDR Extreme was given a rank of 10-footer. Same thing with "Fascination Eternal Love" from Supernova; the steps arent all that hard, but the tempo changes (especially on 1.5 reverse) make the song damn near unbearable : (
  3. You can create a google page at google.com, thats where I store my music.
  4. The progession of the song is good, you definitely have some talents in trance composition. You should work more on filling out the soundscape thoug, right now its still very empty. Make some more pronounced drum loops, and some stronger synths. Good start though : )
  5. The synths sound really generic right now, and the arrangement gets a bit repetitive after the first loop through.......on the upside, its very catchy and you really interpret the source well. one of the benefits of not using a MIDI rip is that youre bound to get some good interpretation merely by recreating the song by ear. Develop this further : )
  6. I think google pages was havin some technical difficulties then....I just checked, and the links workin now.
  7. Thanks for your comments, uve all given me a lot of ideas as to how to improve this mix.......I listened to l'après-midi d'un faune, and hb, ur right in that thats the kind of style Im leaning towards. I want to incorporate some ambient elements though (bird sounds, winds), I feel it helps to add to the feel of the song. And Prometheus, I definitely am lookin into some new samples. Right now Im stuck between this mix and another one Im working on (which should be posted in a few days), so Im not sure when I'll have an update ready, but you can bet I will : )
  8. I like it......its interesting, harmonically pleasant, and has a very humanized sound to it. Also the theme is one I havent heard on here, so thats a big plus for creativity : ) I think some better instrumental samples (mainly the sax), and it sounds a bit muddy to me in the beginning, but the arrangement is on point. Good job.
  9. Have you scanned it for viruses/malware/etc? One of my classmates had a similar sitation with Cubase, and turned out it was due to a particularly malicious virus.
  10. It would be a horrible, horrible crime not to finish this man....I was lovin the force you built up in the song, those 46 seconds left me wanting more. It seems like you have a knack for using distorted sounds in a non-distorted way (if that makes any sense). The song is industrial yet isnt convoluted or over-clustered. Keep it up : )
  11. This mix is definitely hot.......I really like the shift from the beautiful, serene atmosphere to the dynamic upbeat techno. I think what would make this really interesting is if you added on some more to the techno end and then brought the piano back in with the synth beats ( to kind of bring the two styles together for a while), and concluded with the atmospheric insrumental style....bringing it back to where it was in the beginning. Of course, this is purely stylistic, but just lettin u know one direction I could see this song going. It has incredible potential man....excellent stuff : )
  12. Thanks, I was worried I would really get any comments on this because the style is so different from most of the stuff on here. Im still new to ambience too, so Im not sure exactly where to go with this. What kind of stuff would help to bring the interest factor up?
  13. Right now u definitely need better samples.....also you'll get much more concrete feedback if you post a more developed mix. I know this is the WIP forum, but its really helpful to have your mix more structurally complete before posting it. I do think this has that Sci-Fi sound to it, which would be interesting to roll with. I think you could benefit from using some glitch effects and more synths. You could also take the orchestral route, but I wouldnt recommend that for your first mix. Just keep at it, its got potential....I promise you the only way to improve is to stick with it : ) Right now Im having some of my own direction issues with my recently posted WIP (Forest Requiem), so I know what ur goin through, lol.
  14. After playing ur sample back a few times, it seems like u work pretty well as a mellow, relaxed singer (as opposed to the more aggressive, voice-pumping singers). Your sound works pretty well in that song, I would mainly suggest you focus on putting more clarity in your voice at some of the higher notes (it sounds like your forcing that high area around ~34 seconds a little bit). Are you singing parallel to some1 else in your song?
  15. ok.......sounds like u have some decent talent (more than me, lol). Do u think u have a good range?
  16. Vocal training from scratch is pretty complex....but to help you out from the jump, answer these few questions: Well, for the most basic questions, are you male or female? If you had to compare your voice to that of a popular celebrity, who would you most resemble? Have you ever heard your voice played back to you?
  17. Definitely carries energy, but gets really convoluted at points. I think this might be a case of "frequency competition", where you have too many sounds fighting among the same frequencies. You might benefit from using some filters, and some panning effects. It definitely has potential though : )
  18. It has a good sound, but its really just cutting and pasting the Good Future and Past mixes of Palmtree Panic with some new instruments. Then again, I guess standards were much different back in 2001......
  19. Hey, some people prefer a visual aid : )
  20. Ive seen a couple WIPs of Donkey Kong 64 songs in the forums.....
  21. Most pop artists are primarily a voice, everything else (image, songwriting, publicity, composition, etc) is done by individuals who specialize in each of those fields (so the singer can specialize in his/her voice). There are exceptions to this of course, but having each person focus on a different area is most efficient.
  22. Actually the compression one was very helpful for me....turns out I had the idea of compression completely wrong, lol. Good stuff : )
  23. In my profile, the url is http://www.ocremix.org/forums/member.php?u=19945 Therefore, my user id is 19945
  24. Is that the temple that you turn upside down in the game?
  25. This is a WIP I've just recently started based on the Pokemon Tower theme from Pokemon R/B/Y (the area with all the ghosts for anyone who played the game). I wanted to keep this very mellow, serene, and ambient, giving the feel of a tranquil forest. Despite the title, this is more peaceful than it is sad......anyway I need some advice as to how to improve this, maybe some sounds that would be good to add, etc. Heres the song: http://lightningrt.googlepages.com/ForestRequiem0.0.mp3 Any and all comments are definitely appreciated : )
