@Neblix: your post made me think of something. If you took the sticker star theme (or any song from that game really) and deconstructed it into a midi or simple sine/square instruments, THAT would be a place you can remix from, because the themes are all very memorable. You were right; I went back and listened to/ended up downloading that entire soundtrack. But doing it from the 'this is jazz' predisposition it's hard to make a full horizontal shift to another genre or idea. Taking a step back to the most basic interpretation of the song and THEN taking it in another direction would be much easier. Like go from this and see what you get -

People don't remix new VGM because it's already layered with a considerable amount of complexity, which requires significant amounts of creativity and talent. It would be a significant undertaking to make sound better than it does without either covering the song too closely, losing the feel of the song altogether, or just not living up to the original.On the other hand, things like and you can really take any direction you want and still have it feel like the original, because it's a catchy melody line with a little bit of a bassline and nothing else. Remixing it in your own style is compositionally much easier.Because there is less material to respect and stay faithful to in older games, it is easier to approach an older song and come out with something new that can stand alongside it. Because new songs are already compositionally complete, doing a full 're-imagining' of a song from a Mass Effect or a God of War requires much more nuance. I want to hear these STAT

i quit at the end of last season for 3 months because i couldn't handle it and the game made me mad all the time. i've played a few games recently and it hasn't swallowed me up yet but people are really dumb, and don't care about winning if they aren't doing well.

also make sure to carry the game around in sleep mode. the town's timer keeps going in sleep mode, and if you streetpass people you get another helper person in your city. i got to 22-23 people purely through streetpass.
