  1. It sounds very beautiful on the piano. Mad skills. I think this does a really good job making an interpretation of the original, which is basically "just" synth chord washes. The suspense overall in the piece is pretty good. I do feel I zone off a bit in the part that begins at 02:54 - I kind of wish it would surprise me a bit in some way, or maybe the dynamics/expression in that part isn't quite as good as in the previous part. That's pretty much the only crit I have, though of course in such a moody and minimalistic piece it affects the whole piece. But the piece is pretty good already, I just feel it could be improved a bit in that area. I'm of course not a judge, but I don't see why this arrangement couldn't end up in the front page - this place is supposedly open to all genres of music, and this is a creative VGM interpretation that's (IMHO) pretty close to being great. --Eino
  2. Very nice surprise, this album. I like the concept of releasing shorter albums, and the quality is very high. Nice work all! --Eino
  3. A fantastic source tune! I hope I have the time to contribute something.. --Eino
  4. Very cool! Downloading... --Eino
  5. I'm agreeing with MojoHamster a lot. I really like this piece, it does require a lot of expression to pull off satisfyingly, but I think you can do it. I'm looking forward to the final piece! --Eino
  6. Voted! Don't forget to vote! It is important!
  7. Managed to upload my contribution in the fifth attempt or so.. but there it is! --Eino
  8. I have 17 seconds done, and with the extension there should be plenty of time.. to come up with at least a minute. --Eino
  9. I'll probably aim at digging into that 00:30-00:42 section. Nice basslines too, but can't really stand the melody in this one. --Eino
  10. I see a pattern forming.. I pick a source tune, then OneUp makes the only mix. Oh well. I promise to contribute next round! Kick-ass tune OneUp! Truly not much source in it, I can barely recognize that one lead for a few bars in the tune. Anyway, it's worth keeping for me, good music! --Eino
  11. Yes! Let's have more tunes! Let's have FIGHT! --Eino
  12. There's a lot of things in the source to base your piece on IMO, I'm glad you've found a spot! I really like the piece (especially the Hyper Street Fighter II arrangement), but it's quite.. busy. --Eino
  13. I've been enjoying this tune for a while now.. really loving the sound and the stomping, jagged beat. I've always been fond of the textures SID can produce and mixing them up with more modern production (and more channels!) works very well here. --Eino
  14. Hey I wanted to thank you all for the comments in the votes, glad you liked the song and the criticism was useful, esp. regarding the production/mastering.. that is something I need to work on! --Eino
  15. Submitted my entry, which makes three so far! --Eino
  16. I have 45 seconds down, and hopefully have time to work on some more. Yeah, I had/have difficulty getting started too. But hey, each kind of source has its own challenges. Stop whining and get back to work --Eino
  17. The source is so easy to pick up, I have resolved to contribute to this round. I don't have an idea yet, though. But something will be done. --Eino
  18. Very nice work touching this one up! I love how airy yet metallic the bridges sound. Tight track. --Eino
  19. Very nice. Beautiful. I find it haunting as well. --Eino
  20. I noticed after we completed our track that I read the deadline as June 20th, not July 20th. Glad that I did though. Welcome all new musicians, this is just getting better and better. I'm personally looking forward to Radiowar's track a lot. --Eino
  21. Got our track finished! 18 completed tracks already! --Eino
  22. 1. Guybrush Threepwood 2. Zidane 3. Companion Cube
  23. Very nice energy in the wip.. looking forward to an update! --Eino
  24. Very nice rocking track.. I like a the atmospheric guitar bits in the middle a lot. One crit that I can think of is that the bassline sounds a little jumpy, you have rests (muting) in the line, whereas by letting the notes sound fully would maybe give the track a more "rolling", forwards rhythmic feel. Hope that makes sense! I get the feeling that it's *very full* of guitars, which is great but it's somehow a little too much.. tiring to the ears, so I think what I'm hearing is what you are saying. edit: I also agree with Gario that this track is fine with just the guitars. --Eino
