  1. I thought the melody was awesome. The drums were really muddy though. If this had a solid drum thing going it would be good. The bass also didn't sound very good.
  2. you can have up to 16 midi outs before you have to load another VST right? Or can you change the loaded samples mid-song?
  3. Ok cool. So intakt is kind of useless while kompakt is the one to get?
  4. I was reading on one of those software sites and I was wondering what the difference was between these names. There's both intakt storm drum and kontakt stormdrum.

  6. whoa a zoom tool. I never noticed all the tools on the toolbar. All I use is the pen and the different snap to grid settings. Also the different macros like quantize and chop are good too.
  7. Wow that's a really good sounding piano. What effects are on it? Delay and reverb? Soundfont link?
  8. you could possibly use edison to record some of the more cpu intensive tracks down to wav files
  9. I was going to post my setup but really it's just computer, a dynamic mic from the county fair, an m-audio pro 88 key (oh yeah except I always max out the velocity ), and a generic guitar with not so low action and fret buzz. Only thing I need right now is a way better sound card. So sick of delay when trying to play live.
  10. Hmm I have no idea. I would like to know how to do multiple sounds in the same vst without loading up multiple ones though.
  11. yay thanks. So how do you tune it down? I'm assuming you just play the piano roll note an octave lower right?
  12. What do you mean by this? I know exactly what a fourier transform is, but what do you mean by I'll get more out of it? Every possible wave can be made up of a fourier series. How can I possibly not be using it? I am just confused. Please clarify.
  13. It's a swishing sound that kind of sounds like it's going in a circle. It goes left to right and gets louder in the middle then softer again. I also found a better way to do it. You make a band pass or a notch and then you invert it and play against the original. That way the two different portions have exactly what the other one is missing because an upside down V doesn't quite match a V. When you inverse the waves cancel and it's exactly perfect. Then you take the upside down V part and pan that one while just making sure the inverted part (the track containing fundamental) stays with it using the formula controller. Pretty sweet effects.
  14. I've heard good stuff out of all of those. Pro tools HD is the best though. And then have hardware to go along with it. I love loops though. It doesn't have a notation view, but I have long gotten over that. Notation has no power anyways.
  15. hey audix. How do you make the overtones of a note pan around? I was listening to your pirates song and the note is staying in the same spot but its overtones are going from left to right. Just wondering thanks! edit: I figured out how to do it but I want to know if this is how you did it. Open formula controller and route the button to a band pass filter and a notch filter of the same Q. Then pan the overtones by twisting the formula controller knob.
  16. very good danther. Sounds like something out of harry potter to me. Awesome textures. WHOA AUDIX POSTED ABOVE ME. THE SILVERLINE STUDIO GUY. and all this time I thought you were going by a different alias. Loved your n64 cradle song! hey you use fl studio right?
  17. saaaaweeeeettttt!!! http://www.orchestra.net/Brady.mov Anyone know of a good soundfont or something that is good for church bells? I love church bells in songs. Down n dirty guitar riff with double bass drums and church bells ooohh yeaaah. Something like rhapsody of fire which is a sweet orchestral/metal band or dark moor which uses a lot of bells.
  18. I am too lazy to do anything. What does the key manager do? Hmm did you actually download this and try this or just find it? I made ana ccount on the stupid webvsite and everyhitng but i castil caln't tdownloadint anything. lazy typing fast as possible sorry
  19. you can use ghost script and ghostgum very effectively. They are free.
  20. I have a question about partials or overtones. Do they always go in whole number multiples? Like fundamental is 1, octave 2, 1.5 octaves (3x), 3 octaves (4x), and so on. Well in the additive synth thingy or w/e it is in FL, it has little bars I have found that each one is a whole number multiple of the fundamental (at least the first few, I can't tell for the super later ones). I think it may be called sytrus or something. I forget and I cannot find it again. Anyways is there anyway to do additive synthesis, but adding any overtone you want instead of just the whole multiples? I was just wondering if such a thing was possible using an add synth. I am reading the additive synth guide labeled super synths at http://www.computermusic.co.uk/page/computermusic?entry=free_beginner_pdfs
  21. Very good Very good. I like orchestral. Be pretty sweet to have a live orchestra that I could send midi to. hehe.
  22. Interesting signature po! I have same keyboard as zircon key88 or whatever it is. I love knobs buttons faders everywhere (hey zirc what velocity setting do you use? I use the linear number 1. It seems to be the most accurate although I tend to reach the upper limits of the keyboard velocity and not be able to play the lower ones. I wish the velocity meter was still linear but started higher up.) I also use the same Line6 spiderII guitar amp as someone else had here.
  23. Yea same here. I spend all my time researching instead of doing. Moulton labs is where i have been reading lately. I guess it's because i m afraid of failure. What the hell i am going to make a remix tomorrow and who cares if it sucks
