  1. I have never used the FPC before and I just tried it. You can download new patches inside it from sample fusion. I don't have to pay to download these do I? (some of them are red and say free and others are blue and grey) thanks O by the way are there any other ways to download content for free inside FL? Thanks Oh edit I had another question too. It's one of those things that I always wanted to ask but never got around to it. When you are working with samples, sometimes they have redlines drawn in them. What are those? How do I make them? I think they have something to do with a slicer, but I've always done all my slicing in audacity so I've never made those redlines myself. Ok thanks. I am still a newbie hehe.
  2. man... I will never be able to afford to make top of the line music. Meh, but I don't care FL studio kicks so much butt anyways. It's not like what I have won't work, but JESUS CHRIST THAT SAM LIBRARY IS NICE!!!!!
  3. I am getting equation audio rp 21. They seem to be the best. hd280 bass response messed up
  4. do you want them to start in the middle and fade sideways or what?
  5. Thanks yoozer that was really really helpful and short. Moseph - I will try that thanks edit - how do i turn the sustain up on this thing?
  6. I can play it without distortion as a stand alone, but then when it is loaded as a VST in FL studio, it distorts on the upper velocities. What's up with this? I can't figure out how to make it fixed sized buffers. I remember doing that once to fix it, but I can't find it again.
  7. lol those ruled. You are going to have to use an artificial pitch raiser to achieve some of those chipmunk sounds he was doing. Autotune or melodyne would help insanely unless you have serious chops as a singer for doing multiple part harmonies in tune. You can also sample yourself in tune at various points like every half octave and then stretch as needed to other notes.
  8. are the hd280's better than these? Recommended models: - Sennheiser EH2200 ($50-$75) - Sony MDR7506 ($100) - AKG K171 ($160) - AKG K240 ($100)
  9. i am getting the headphones and sound card. I might get a different sound card though, but I am definitely getting the headphones. Sorry to say I can't support ocremix on this one because I save $30 by buying off a cheap site instead of zzound.
  10. is the super good one pro tools hd or something else? Also what is the difference between LE and M powered????? These music daw websites are terrible. I still have no idea what the hell recycle, rewire, or any of this marketed crap is. It would be nice if they said what the product actually did instead of talking about how great it is. Well I guess the HD one is the super one. It costs $1000+ and comes with big soundcards or something
  11. get the m-audio 88 key thing. This puppy rocks. It's just amidi controller though. Has anyone ever used one of those keytar things lol? They look pretty neat with the ribbon instead of a wheel. One handed only is a big downfall though
  12. even the expensive ones are terrible (plz someone direct me if there are good sounding ones) If you need a guitar lick played, I am semi decent at the guitar. Just pm or post what you need played.
  13. if money were not a factor, what daw would come out ontop. I already like fl studio a lot because it's so easy and I already know a lot of the workarounds for it for things that aren't directly implemented, but I was interested in trying pro tools, reason, and cubase. Apparently wikipedia thinks cubase sucks and is going down hill, but I've heard it is pretty good. Anyways might dl a reason demo.
  14. I found that guitar pro has an option to show notes that are being hit on piano in it. As well as a fretboard. I dk if finale does this or not lol. I find myself using guitar pro more than finale lol even though finale is supposed to be some super great program. I hate its stupid license crap I can only put it on a few computers or something retarded and the gpo vst that comes with it is locked and only works with finale, but finale can't run any normal vsts so I find it only useful for printing out good sheet music or something like that.
  15. I have found that piano roll is far more powerful than notation? I dk I only like notation for reading music, not writing.
  16. go to vgmusic.com and look under piano scores only. You can also use the combine staff feature, but I've never had success with that. It just puts things like 30 ledger lines above the staff and it is too hard to lower them down. It's easier just to use what is already made as piano music unless you are pro at distinguising between 29 and 30 ledger lines lol. edit: maybe you could use fl studio to open the file then edit everything there because octave editing is easy. Just select notes you want to move and... wait for it... move them! I hate how my stupid midi sheet music thing can't do that pfft. Maybe finale can open midis. I got finale 2007 but have never used it. I prefer fl studio by far. I'll have to try finale for midis. Does anyone know if finale can open midis? Last time I was into finale notepad, it could only do .mus files. Thanks e#2: you can also transcribe it by ear, but that doesn't give any reading practice, but definitely check out the david lucas burge relative pitch course. That is nice nice nice for transcribing what you hear onto paper/computer.
  17. parametric eq 2 has a visual spectrum. Load into a mixer channel to see it. I think there are other ways too?
  18. all right thanks. I think i'll do the automation clip. The samples tend to sound bad when stretched everywhere (or am I wrong about this?).
  19. how much better would those headphones be compared to my shure in-ears noise isolation?
  20. Say I found the perfect tone (lol) for an A, but when I play a D, the bad overtones start to leak back in. Is there a way for the EQ to go up and down following what I am playing midi or do I have to use automation clips? Thanks Also if you can do it midi, is there a way to do it with live single note sound (I am feeling doubtful about this one)? Ok thanks again
  21. what does a pad control do? If all it does is send midi messages, just assign the extreme upper or lower of your 88 keyboard to do that.
  22. search brett manning on youtube he knows exactly what he's talking about
  23. Does anyone know any good resources for singing/growling without shredding your voice to bits if that's even possible. I tried google for a few minutes, but all I found was some instructions to do jumping jacks while growling three sets of ten and that's all it said. I found some pretty good online singing lessons (not growling though). The guy seems to know exactly what he's talking about and can actually sing very well so I am going to do his lessons until I find some death metal stuff.
