  1. I'm interested in participating, though I have no idea what I'll come up with or how good it will be, as I have never made a video before. I'd also like to state that I might be open to the idea of collaborating. I have some vague ideas of stuff I could do on my own, though nothing I'm very attached to yet. So if anybody (esp. anybody local) wants to team up and do some brainstorming, let me know. I've got video and lighting equipment, and am willing to act/appear in the video and do silly things.
  2. I am so excited to listen to this in the car tomorrow on my road trip! I've heard about half the album so far and have loved every track I heard. Great job everyone and a big thank you to Dyne for putting it all together! Merry Christmas OCR!!
  3. Dang that is pretty cool. My immediate thought as an obsessed cosplayer is, how would I make this costume? I have no idea how one would construct headphones to look like that. But the tetris necklace is awesome, I'd make one just to wear it on regular occasions.
  4. You know what, what Biznut just said right here is right along with my thinking, but he said it a lot better than I did. So I take back what I said and say this instead ,) This too. (It does say "Amy" right under "diotrans".) Unless I am just lying again!!
  5. Done and done!! I got Palp to do it.
  6. Yay Palp and I are on the upcoming guest list. I was just talking to Palp about OCAD the other day and there is a song we want to sing for Brushfire, if we're on as guests that would be the perfect opportunity.
  7. 1. Would you be willing to put forward something valuable towards a prize for this contest? I don't mind donating money to help support this if needed, for like DVDs or something. However I don't feel that a prize is necessary, given how many successful compos/challenges are on OCR that are informal and don't have prizes. To me, just having people make videos is more important than determining a winner or rewarding the best ones, and I don't think prizes are necessary to motivate ppl to participate. 2. Which contest would you prefer, a silly one or a serious one. I'd prefer something informal that would welcome all styles, silly and serious. I think it was Biznut who suggested diff categories of winners? So you could determine a genuinely best video, as well as funniest video, best low-budget, etc. 3. Which contest would you enter? Silly I can do on my own. Serious would require me to collaborate with others. 4. Exactly. 5. What kind of rules do you think would be fair? I mean for a serious competition there should be some minimum requirements not unlike the ocr standards... a certain screen resolution and file quality perhaps? Should it use the entire song? Should flash count? Should there be any kind of censorship? I don't think I have anything to add that hasn't already been said. 6. Since the mixes are fair game on the site but permission must be granted before they are used in things does that mean a contest of this sort might require the entrant hunting down the remixer? Again, I'm not sure. 7. Would you buy an ocrmv dvd? If there was a lot of cool entries, sure. Like I said, I'm willing to donate money to support the project. 8. Would you go to an ocrmv dvd-screening party? Physically go or do an online thing? Online thing, sure. In person is trickier obv bc of geography. 9. What would be the best method of getting high quality video files like this to each other? Co-ordinated sever space until they're recieved by the judge(s)? File transfer/torrent? By mail? I think having a central server would help, if somebody has enough web space to do that. I could check to see how much space my webserver has. 10. Awww jeez what about the judges!? Eep.
  8. I've been quiet about my track as well, except I talked to Dyne about it, and I'm pretty sure nobody is doing the same track (hopefully). Anyway I wanted to say that I got a break at work yesterday and recorded the guitar part and it's done. That was the hard part, so I'll probably be able to do the rest if I get more breaks or just over the weekend.
  9. Yay I love New Year's Resolutions. Even though they often end up being like January resolutions and then forgotten for 11 months >.> I thought I'd done pretty well with my 2009 resolutions... until I took a look and actually saw what they were just now. x_x Let's see: 2009: - Become mostly vegan. Success! (Prior to this I was vegetarian, not at all vegan.) - Write 4 new songs with Vinnie. We didn't write ANY new songs but we did finish up 6 old ones and put out an EP so that's not too bad. - Edit the novel I wrote in 2007. Total fail. - Move from the area. Total fail. 2010: - Eat less processed foods. - Put mental health/sanity before creative goals instead of being constantly stressed out. - All of the goals mentioned in the musical goals thread. - Establish/maintain internet presence (need to update personal websites as they are woefully out of date, and maintain accounts on other sites, etc.) - more to come?
  10. Sure, what sort of help do you need? I'd like to see this happen too. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, we could just have a thread for the HOTOOCRMVC, upload our stuff to YouTube, and then post the links?
  11. Oh yeah, I should also mention that I have basic lighting + video equipment, so if it was needed, I could shoot footage of whatever and send it to whoever to be edited. Though I'm still a n00b at the video stuff, so it would probably be better if this were done in person as a collaborative effort with others to help with the equip, etc. (I'd love to learn more about video in every aspect, actually.) Also, while I suck at choreography, I'd absolutely love to be a part of a dance choreographed by somebody else, if there's a choreographer out there who wanted to get involved in all this and people wanted to have dancing in the video. Though that may be over-estimating my dance ability. Wow I am so self-confident about my skills!!!
  12. This isn't entirely related but I have vaguely thought about choreographing a dance to an OCRemix, which is something that might make for a cool live music video. However, I suuuuuck at choreography.
  13. I'm downloading this even though I was just there, I like want to hear it again already lol Srsly guys awesome job, live radio show + chat format was way too much fun. Thanks for keepin me company on a Friday night.
  14. Just finished listening to episode 6 (5?). Made the mistake of trying to eat dinner simult. This was dangerous at times. Jade + Blind you were hilarious Looking forward to the next one!
  15. Hmm I thought we might have said so on another thread but anyway you can add me and Palpable to the list of definite attendees. (Fairfax, VA)
  16. What we are doing Flickerfall songs too? Crap, add that to my list as well.
  17. Not sure I have any new goals for the new year, just continue on my existing ones: - Get better at singing, in particular, more ctrl over vocal mechanism. Re-started voice lessons a couple of months ago, will continue with this. - Get better at guitar. This just needs practice and lessons if I have questions. - Get better at producing/making music. Need to spend more time making music on the computer. - Finish some of my remix ideas. - Write more original music. - Promote my music and Flickerfall and our album more. It's a lot, but music is my priority and I can and will make at least some progress in all of those things, a year is a long time In fact I did some of each of those things in '09 so here's to continuing that in '10.
  18. Spoilers in white. I cry extremely easily at movies, books, etc. so it's not unusual that I'd cry at a game. But the most memorable one that I cried at was FFX. The part when Tidus finds out that Yuna is going to die. And then during the ending when Yuna is looking for him and she does the whistle thing. OMG so sad.
  19. Wes this was a really good idea, it sounds like a lot of fun. I decided to pass on this after much internal debate, because I already have way too many projects and knowing me I'd probably get carried away and spend way too much time thinking of ideas, shopping around, or assembling a crazy craft. But looking at ppl's wish lists I'm starting to regret not having joined. Ah well, maybe next year...
  20. Listened to most of episode 3.5, it kept me company while I was being an insomniac last night/this morn. Fun podcast and a great way to catch up on newly posted remixes. I thought it would be neat if you talked more about the tracks after you play them, or the artists who made the tracks. But your format of lighthearted chatter and often inappropriate humor works too ,) Thanks for plugging Flickerfall and playing some diotrans, too. Palpable IS hot!
  21. Happy Birthday Palpable, awesome remixer, judge, and boyfriend! <3
  22. Yay thanks for all the comments and kind words I def had a lot of fun with this and I thought the entries were all really great. I will have to participate in more PRCs in the future! I'll try to pick something good for the next (next next?) round, actually I already have an idea of what source I want to pick and I hope everyone will have fun with it. Bundeslang I will send you a link soon.
  23. Hate to skip out on 2 compos in a row, but I've had something of a rough week, and need to take out some time for much needed R+R. Hoping to be good to go for next week though. Have fun everyone
