  1. So it's not really a how-to guide for reason you're looking for, but an understand of specific genres? Wouldn't it be best to just listen a lot of it all, study its sound and arrangement, as well as look for general drum sequencing guides? Also, a really handy resource here. Yes I know, very helpful.
  2. Cerrax has pms. I mean, he has mine in his inbox. Is there a more appropriate way of saying I've given him mine?
  3. . Moderately accurate.Yeah, maybe we should have a song in swedish on the album. Gonna need Usa on your wip, Blue. Should it bother me that I get wips that are better than I can properly crit?
  4. I deny that this is the case, which I would even if he wasn't. Wait... Nah, I'll post a proper public one eventually. Probably a month after release.
  5. Well, we have an updated one in the private forum. Updated TODAY! Tho a tracklist in swedish would be fun. Maybe I should do that... No mixers, tho. 101 Inte vakn...ad? 102 Där änglar är rädda att... tråd...nej, träda! 103 Vanligt folk 104 ....öh.... 105 Väggar och... stålar!? Meh.
  6. +1 elder point! Beard! Beard! Beard! Beard!
  7. The more, the messier... I mean merrier. After a couple of collab fails, I prefer to not have to rely on others to complete my stuff, and I think that's a healthy attitude. However, if it works, it'd be awesome. Pwnsome, even. It's worth a shot, as long as there's always the option to go back to separate tracks. Why wouldn't I want something like this on the project?
  8. Looking good. So, how about well-tagged torrents and stuff?
  9. Zelda WW with more land, enemy pirates, and the occasional actually cool character. And no frickin' miniblin. And a _complete_ Hyrule under water, instead of just a couple of short dungeons. Man that bit where underwater Hyrule is revealed got my hopes up for a huge awesome game... but no. ...and maybe hinox and lynel and lizalfos and proper zora and enemy zora...
  10. Thanks you. :D You'll be glad to know I have a second non-project sd3 track in the works, tho can't say when it'll be done.

  11. I like how you manage to incorporate multiple sources in your works. This is imo especially successful in that regard. Your take on the Gerudo Valley thing fits well with the bass from the witches' theme. Also, is that a song of storms-influenced intro?`your intro seems to reference song of storms. Intentional? Also, should be expecting a midi some day?
  12. Not snobby, just... funny. Says I, with a nearly monotone, Finnish-influenced accent. Brandon är bara avundsjuk.
  13. I hate ending up with important updates last on a page. So here it is again: TRACKLIST UPDATED. There. Or, in Swedish: Spårlistan uppdaterad. Also... I feel exactly the opposite. I can just imagine this in Stockholmska. Or dalmål. Or skånska. lol
  14. Just FYI, tracklist updated. See first post. Also, if you need the thread title translated to English, ask Archangel.
  15. Out of the blue, an almost finished mix. Things are looking pretty good for the album. Anyone willing to contribute various sd3 videos or s9x save states or something so I can make a video preview for this thing? Before it's done, I mean. Also, with keiiii being busy, we wouldn't mind some additional artists for this project. Bahamut, when you see this, update the recruitment thread. We need artists and quality video footage from the game.
  16. Needs changes to volume during sustains. The midi cc expression is designed for this purpose, and you can probably set your midi hardware to treat the modulation wheel to control expression instead of modulation. Also, a lot of the time it feels like it doesn't have a tempo. Some rhythmic backing is needed in the early parts of the mix.
  17. Less reverb, cleaner lows. Drums need more energy, you can achieve that in a lot of different ways, but cleaning up the sound should be one of those. Screwing with volume envelopes and/or gates is probably something you'll want to do. I hear way too much lows when I listen to this, you should only need the bass and the bass drum way down there, with snare, pads and comping having their low lows cut. Drawing some figures from my head, I think even the bass and bass drum can be cut at around 40Hz, snare, pads and comping at 200Hz or so, and most of the higher range stuff probably don't need stuff under 500Hz or even 1kHz. Note: this is straight from my head, don't remember exactly and I use my ears when I mix, not just the numbers. Also, I tend to sometimes cut, sometimes just reduce. Depending on the EQs you have, you might want to use a low shelf kind of eq to reduce everything under 1kHz by 10dB (example for pads or something). You don't lose the sound, but you clean it up for other instruments who need that range more. That should get you a bit further. Again, find a good mix and compare it. Listen for stuff like this.
  18. Will means Addictive Drums. Also, if you're thinking about getting Battery, you might as well save up for Komplete and get so much more for price not _that_ much higher.
  19. Can't speak for EZDrummer, but its big brother Super Drummer is pretty much as you describe. Still needs some basic velocity touches for a more human performance, and you might have to look through the different notes for the right type of hit you want (basic example: hihat open/closed). Dunno how advanced EZD is, but Superior does live drums nice and easy. Figuring out how to process and mix the different mic channels of it is obviously something that takes a while to learn. If you come across an issue of Computer Music or some similar magazine with a dvd with stuff, check if you get some free drum plugins. I saw EZDrummer on one issue's dvd (but already had Superior then so didn't bother with it).
  20. Make sure it's at an appropriate overall level. Didn't check when I rendered it for you, and didn't check now. Just play it next to some other ocr piano things and see if it's too soft or otherwise could use some final processing. Other than that, sub it.
  21. I'm taking the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson approach: low expectations. (it will suck and you know it, it will suck and you know it, it will suck and you know it, it will suck and you know it) Oh, this part didn't suck as much as I expected!
  22. You could probably process the hihat to fit in better. Same wit the kick and the bass. Piano needs a better sample and probably different reverb/additional effects to give it that distant sound you seemed to go for. No suggestions for samples tho, kind'a trying to figure out drum samples myself.
  23. Could be done better, but it's cool. Hard to not smile when listening to this. Counts as a ReMix if it's posted on OCR. If you're comfortable with it, do some volume boosting and sub it, I think it's interpretive enough. That'd get it more attention, which it deserves. Might want to fade out the applause at the end if you sub it.
