  1. Because it's soooooo incredibly difficult and time consumming to hit the 'Back' button.
  2. Well, as some of you may or may not know, this track actually was leaked by the judges before being posted. I had done this mock up ReView at the time for fun. Most of my comments still stand. Click Me!
  3. Hmmm... Well, after the build up, and all the great words from everyone else, to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. This is a very average mix. Nothing spectacular, nothing that'll blow you away. Sound quality is very high, and the arrangement skills are very nice, but it just feels like anything and everything else out there. I truly don't find anything that puts this song above and beyond any other mix out there. Nothing original that makes it stand out from the pack. CT fan? Well, I guess you'll like it from the response of all the others here. ReMix fan or trying this even though you've never played the game before? It's nice... but don't believe the hype. endblink grades this mix: 65%
  4. And the Marilyn Manson Award goes to... This mix scares me. Great job of making a song from this game work.
  5. I think I must of heard some WIP version that was floating around out there, because when I first saw this posted up on the homepage, I couldn't believe it had made it. I re-downloaded it and was surprised to hear it sound so much better... but still needing more work. Fault one: The length. It's way to short. Especially since the end of the song really starts to build. You get into it right as it finishes. Fault two: The fade out. TERRIBLE. It gives it a feel that the ReMixer didn't know where he was going with this... or didn't know where he wanted to go with it, so he just didn't go anywhere with it. The fade is the biggest 'What the-?' I've heard in a while. Fault three: Taking the first two faults in mind, I feel this mix could have had more. The ReMixer is certainly talented enough. I truly feel he could have taken more liberties with the song. Make us go somewhere. While I can tell the differences, there's not enough to them. Of course, I won't say what that 'more' could be, that up to the ReMixer, but it definately left me wanting 'more'.
  6. Sounds like a less chaotic (and thankfully shorter) version of Aphex Twin's 'Pacman Powerpill'. I like. Two thumbs up.
  7. Well, I was really excited about this mix. I’m a fan of every genre (excluding country. Sorry country fans) and there are some excellent rap songs out there (current fav: Nas – One Mic). The samples, scratching and rapping are all top notch. The guitar at the end is an excellent surprise and carries the song to an excellent finish. But I will say this, it bothers me tremendously that DJ Crono did not give credit where credit is due. When people were attempting to translate the lyrics, DJ Crono backed away, neither providing lyrics himself, nor informing us who originally wrote them. It seems kinda shady and disrespectful. It can easily be seen as infringing copyright on another artist’s material and calling it your own. While I applaud the effort and the attempt to venture into new musical territory here at OCR, I do wonder if any steps should be taken regarding crediting the proper people and/or whether any reprimands should be made on DJ Crono for trying to take credit for someone else’s work. Yes, all the ReMixes here play with other people’s work, but credit is given where credit is due and no one attempts to pass off the original songs as their own. This is not original material, and it bothers me that DJ Crono tried to pass it off as such. What do the rest of you think? I’ll be posting this in the ReView thread as well as General Discussion so it can reach a wider audience. I do hope djpretzel responds because I’m curious to know his opinion in the matter. endblink
