What Computer Hardware Do I Need for Remixing?
Nabeel Ansari replied to Capt. Stupidity's topic in General Discussion
Which is why I asked: "What kind?" Not bad, not bad at all. It's better than my Athlon II X2, so you have a lot to work with. -
How do you enjoy your music? Speakers, headphones, what?

The scary thing is that some people would actually use this... -
finished Street Fighter 3 3rd Strike - Ryu
Nabeel Ansari replied to Kenneth Boxall's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I'm gonna have to agree with Ferret here, this remix isn't that great. It's the same thing looped over and over and over and over and (you get the point). You change it up like a minute and half into the song, but then it repeats again. This song doesn't really have any structure, it sounds like a complete MIDI rip stuck into some VST's with some very simple breakdown sections. (that may not be the case, but the results are what matter, not the method) Sorry, but this has a long way to go to be enjoyable, at least to me. Since this is marked as "Finished" I won't be offering any specific suggestions on how to fix it. -
Besides Justin Bieber, I can't think of anyone to play me.

What kind of CPU is that? Makes a big difference, and also sometimes your computer can run the demos, but can't run LESS complex stuff. This is because if you use stuff like Sytrus or Zebra, the CPU usage can really be taxed up even if you only have one or two instances. I can run zircon's "Just Hold On" with like 30 synths but I can't run my FFVI mix with like 5 without crashing. That's because the synth sounds I used were really thick and complex in terms of how much the PC is doing to generate the sound, while the ones in zircon's demo are a little more simple for the computer to do. (that's how pretty much every computer made within last 3 years can run it) -

I use Marathon DJH-1100 headphones for mixing and also for listening. In fact, I don't use anything else. I don't have any usable speakers. -
I think Justin Bieber should play me because I'm just about as annoying.

SEGA Removing "Poor" and "Average" Sonic Titles From Retail
Nabeel Ansari replied to Liontamer's topic in General Discussion
I sure think so, I mean it is fast paced, and using the color alien power ups isn't as stupid as it might sound, it actually adds cool tidbits to the game (like just suddenly launching into the air in rocket form and reaching a whole nother half of the stage previously unavailable). It has nice platforming, which is what Sonic 4 demo lacks. -

I agree that the IDEA of Sonic 4 is good... however, the execution of it by Sega is pretty poor. :/ I don't see why anyone would think this; it's merely just a fact that developers pay too much attention to graphics now and not enough to a clear (NON BUGGY) engine. The (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) homing attack is a (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) integration of an (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) idea that was introduced after the genesis games, but since they wanted to put such a popular (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) Sonic attack in the new game, it's like they had to rewrite the engine to accommodate it. I don't know much about game development, but I'm pretty sure they didn't have to do that. In fact, I'd prefer classic Sonic without (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) homing attacks. They draw more attention to jumping, pressing A in front of enemies, and doing precision jumps at springs. And in just the demo, the first level is pretty short and the design isn't really that interesting, I really liked Sonic 3 because every one of the levels was never "press right and jump occasionally to win", but that is indeed exactly what the Sonic 4 level is like in the demo. -
You may have not added compression, but that kick is most definitely pushing down the rest of the song.

One of the problems I have with this game is that you can literally spin dash and do one jump across like one fourth of the first act level. X_X -

I strongly disagree, the physics as opposed to older Sonic games are really terrible. The homing attack is really buggy and the differences in what you can do in spinball with what you can do running are very different from Sonic 3. Also, it feels really slow. There is too much zoom, which makes you THINK you're going fast but you're really not. If I had to compare to Sonic 3, he's running pretty slow. I've just recently been playing Sonic 3 over and over, so I had that mindset, and when I tried to play Sonic 4, it felt really weird. I'm not saying this is a bad game or anything, but if Sega was going for a classic feel, they have a long way to go. -

Mega Man X: The Grand Maverick Remix Battle 2010

The match ups for our first round are not decided yet; the reason being we're only allowed to have a week for remixing (otherwise if we already knew our match ups we could just start without waiting for the proper starting day) -
Latency problem with Axiom 61 Pro controller

Find out what MIDI Channels each of your knobs/sliders are going on. It'll have a Port Number and a channel or controller number. Next, go to FL Studio. Whatever controllable knob/slider you want to correspond to a knob/slider on your keyboard, you right click the knob/slider (in Fl Studio) and hit Link To Controller. Set it to the controller number of the knob/slider on your keyboard that you want to control it with. I think this will only be saved in a specific project file, so map everything you want in a blank project. Name the project something, and stick it in the Templates folder. Note in the templates folder, there will be categories. In each category, there will be more folders and inside them will be the project files. Make sure you make a folder for your project file before sticking it in whatever category, because otherwise it won't recognize it. -

Don't you mean "it could use improvements"? Regardless, I won't go into Sonic 4 with high expectations because the only Sonic game I could consider "growing up on" was Sonic 3 and then straight to Sonic Adventure when I was the age when I could actually understand what I was supposed to be doing in a video game. I'm willing to give it a shot though. ' EDIT: BLECH. I don't care much about the graphics, but the game play does not feel like classic Sonic at all. It's too slow, the homing attacks get in the way of everything (like if you go to jump while in spin ball and there's a spring around, instead of jumping he just goes to the spring and probably hits the wall that was in the way.), as others said, the zoom is way too much. Levels needs to be much more grand. It literally takes less than 2 minutes to complete an act. -

Did you try going to Options > MIDI Settings and check the Enable box? Parents who protest against them because they think violent games are bad for humanity.
