  1. Besides Justin Bieber, I can't think of anyone to play me.
  2. What kind of CPU is that? Makes a big difference, and also sometimes your computer can run the demos, but can't run LESS complex stuff. This is because if you use stuff like Sytrus or Zebra, the CPU usage can really be taxed up even if you only have one or two instances. I can run zircon's "Just Hold On" with like 30 synths but I can't run my FFVI mix with like 5 without crashing. That's because the synth sounds I used were really thick and complex in terms of how much the PC is doing to generate the sound, while the ones in zircon's demo are a little more simple for the computer to do. (that's how pretty much every computer made within last 3 years can run it)
  3. I use Marathon DJH-1100 headphones for mixing and also for listening. In fact, I don't use anything else. I don't have any usable speakers.
  4. I think Justin Bieber should play me because I'm just about as annoying.
  5. I sure think so, I mean it is fast paced, and using the color alien power ups isn't as stupid as it might sound, it actually adds cool tidbits to the game (like just suddenly launching into the air in rocket form and reaching a whole nother half of the stage previously unavailable). It has nice platforming, which is what Sonic 4 demo lacks.
  6. I agree that the IDEA of Sonic 4 is good... however, the execution of it by Sega is pretty poor. :/ I don't see why anyone would think this; it's merely just a fact that developers pay too much attention to graphics now and not enough to a clear (NON BUGGY) engine. The (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) homing attack is a (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) integration of an (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) idea that was introduced after the genesis games, but since they wanted to put such a popular (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) Sonic attack in the new game, it's like they had to rewrite the engine to accommodate it. I don't know much about game development, but I'm pretty sure they didn't have to do that. In fact, I'd prefer classic Sonic without (BUGGY IN SONIC 4) homing attacks. They draw more attention to jumping, pressing A in front of enemies, and doing precision jumps at springs. And in just the demo, the first level is pretty short and the design isn't really that interesting, I really liked Sonic 3 because every one of the levels was never "press right and jump occasionally to win", but that is indeed exactly what the Sonic 4 level is like in the demo.
  7. You may have not added compression, but that kick is most definitely pushing down the rest of the song.
  8. One of the problems I have with this game is that you can literally spin dash and do one jump across like one fourth of the first act level. X_X
  9. This ^ NSMB wasn't called "Super Mario Bros. 4".
  10. If it's not possible, then Sega shouldn't be claiming it...
  11. Also, Bardic: Sonic Colors is way way WAY better than this game. (played the demo at NY Comic Con)
  12. I strongly disagree, the physics as opposed to older Sonic games are really terrible. The homing attack is really buggy and the differences in what you can do in spinball with what you can do running are very different from Sonic 3. Also, it feels really slow. There is too much zoom, which makes you THINK you're going fast but you're really not. If I had to compare to Sonic 3, he's running pretty slow. I've just recently been playing Sonic 3 over and over, so I had that mindset, and when I tried to play Sonic 4, it felt really weird. I'm not saying this is a bad game or anything, but if Sega was going for a classic feel, they have a long way to go.
  13. But you're (and I quote Willrock) a theory nuthead. I'm not.
  14. I didn't read your post BUT YOU JERK YOU REALIZE WHAT YOU'RE DOING TO ME WITH YOUR MAVERICK THEME IN 3+ DIFFERENT TIME SIGNATURES (if we get paired up, that is)
  15. The match ups for our first round are not decided yet; the reason being we're only allowed to have a week for remixing (otherwise if we already knew our match ups we could just start without waiting for the proper starting day)
  16. Find out what MIDI Channels each of your knobs/sliders are going on. It'll have a Port Number and a channel or controller number. Next, go to FL Studio. Whatever controllable knob/slider you want to correspond to a knob/slider on your keyboard, you right click the knob/slider (in Fl Studio) and hit Link To Controller. Set it to the controller number of the knob/slider on your keyboard that you want to control it with. I think this will only be saved in a specific project file, so map everything you want in a blank project. Name the project something, and stick it in the Templates folder. Note in the templates folder, there will be categories. In each category, there will be more folders and inside them will be the project files. Make sure you make a folder for your project file before sticking it in whatever category, because otherwise it won't recognize it.
  17. Don't you mean "it could use improvements"? Regardless, I won't go into Sonic 4 with high expectations because the only Sonic game I could consider "growing up on" was Sonic 3 and then straight to Sonic Adventure when I was the age when I could actually understand what I was supposed to be doing in a video game. I'm willing to give it a shot though. ' EDIT: BLECH. I don't care much about the graphics, but the game play does not feel like classic Sonic at all. It's too slow, the homing attacks get in the way of everything (like if you go to jump while in spin ball and there's a spring around, instead of jumping he just goes to the spring and probably hits the wall that was in the way.), as others said, the zoom is way too much. Levels needs to be much more grand. It literally takes less than 2 minutes to complete an act.
  18. Did you try going to Options > MIDI Settings and check the Enable box? Parents who protest against them because they think violent games are bad for humanity.
  19. what are you talking about? this site has nothing to do with music. *swish* >.> *swish* <.<
  20. Only half true, only some of the audio information i learned from Shariq. A lot of audio stuff I learned from people like zircon and just browsing these forums and general. And don't blame video games because I play video games ALL THE TIME ever since i was like 5.
  21. ASIO4ALL only works when there is only one application running that has sound output. (so yes, even if you're running a youtube video in firefox or something, that needs to be closed) ASIO4ALL is terrible because of that, so close down all other applications and start FL Studio AFTERWARDS. Lower the buffer as much as you want. Lower buffer -> less latency -> faster computer response from your keyboard but very slow response from intense audio processing in the playlist like lots of synthesizers, samples and effects. So on the flip side, you might want to jack up the buffer if you're not recording, because it'll help process the audio faster and not make your computer stutter because of extreme CPU usage. ASIO4ALL is generally good when you want better response and better processing, but it only works when your DAW (FL Studio in this case) is the only application running that has sound output.
  22. Last competition it was you PM your mix to him with title as "ReMix Name (Your Robot Master vs. Other Robot Master)" I'm assuming it's the same, this year but with Maverick names.
  23. Make sure there's nothing written after the 2:30 mark. Also, make sure there is no loop marker (the play button image that sits under the measure count) and make sure your track pattern isn't extended that far out. Basically, just look in your playlist/piano roll to see if there's anything there at the 2:50.
  24. 1. You write more stuff? What do you mean by "track length"? If you're talking about how fast it's going, the tempo meter is up top next to the record button labeled "BPM". If you mean the track isn't long enough, just add more stuff to it? I'm not sure what you're asking. 2. If you're using the "primary sound driver", the music will end up being quieter in the mp3 export. Switch the drivers to ASIO drivers in the Options > Audio Settings window.
