Judge: I'm sorry, Mr.Wright, but I see nothing faulty. I have no choice but to penalize you. *penalty asplode*

Ema: ... Ah, I notice defense attorneys have a tendency to want to show people things!

I think the length is perfectly fine.

Finally a sequel to Super Metroid - Shadow Complex

You win an internet. And a Phazon Suit, or a V5 Omega Armor set, missing five key elements that the computer stupidly decides not to tell you about until later. Take your pick. -

I've got no problem with people liking old games. I just got a beef with people saying games are garbage because they look like rip offs of old games, 'specially when they haven't played them. We get it, old games are great. Doesn't mean new games aren't. -
... I'm not sure what to say, except, you've no reason to curse at me.

At least it has a story. -
But that's not my point. You don't make an instrument sound fake on purpose you can make it sound like something else (like how Shariq turns a choir into a rock organ) but it's not good to just make it sound fake. Just because something's intentional doesn't mean it good. I could make the worst remix in the world and say "It's supposed to sound bad!" so what? Still doesn't sound good. (Don't even take that in the wrong context. Your mix is not the worst in the world)

*turns into zombie* YOU HEARD WROOOOOOOOOOONG. It may have the same style gameplay and map, but that's about all it has in common (some would say that's all it needs to be a ripoff T_T) but it has a lot of its own features and it's a great game. I got 100% ending and trust me, the story rocks. Unlike Super Metroid which has not much of a story (don't flame me you know it's true but that's the good part of Metroid games, the story is very in-the-dark) -
It's very hard to be a full fledged DAW user and being a crucial part of a collab if you're thirteen and don't have access to a computer (much). That's why you should get your own computer it helps a lot. Trust me. If you look on www.woot.com they occasionally have deals on laptops on computers, but there's only one deal everyday and the chances of a computer deal are slim. They actually just had a really nice one a week ago. You shouldn't build your own computer unless you have a big price range (up to 1000$) because if what you TRULY want (good video card, CPU, etc.) is expensive and your parents won't let you, then there's no point building a computer if you don't have what you want inside of it. Just get a preset computer at best buy, they often have good ones for good prices and then if it's not too expensive buy some parts you want to replace (like a good video card if the computer doesn't come with a good one) Building a PC requires a LOT of foresight, you have to get parts that will make it last the next four years or so (or until college) and that's usually a bit pricey (I customized my dream computer on www.cyberpowerpc.com it cost around 1000$) or if you're geeky, get an Alienware. xD Because you don't wanna build an AVERAGE computer and then buy YET ANOTHER AVERAGE COMPUTER in two years... I have an average (a little below compared to what people consider average right now) laptop but I don't do any heavy duty stuff, just some non-dual video card dependent video games, Fruityloops, email, school stuff and internet. I might actually convert to Linux or XP because Vista Home Basic looks like it doesn't really like my computer. I guess we should just let this thread die, then...

Because I tricked you. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Anyway my last advice still stands dominant. SUBMIT SUBMIT SUBMIT *chants in unison* Anyways, Mr. James Bond 23, I recommend Fruity Loops as a nice cozy DAW to settle into.
-
But there ends up being more competition. These guys should do something in THEIR DAW that's not in ANOTHER DAW, then PICKING a DAW would actually be a bit more... fun.

It amazes me why there are so many DAW's when the all do the same thing, just in a differently organized fashion for each. *shakes head*

Zelda: LATIN INSPIRED GERUDO VALLEY by Sweendrix

1. Dude, just because people download doesn't mean every single person has the mindset of a judge. Most of the people probably downloaded cuz they just thought it was cool. 2. I'm not sure what to say... same as number 1. 3. Well that may be the only legit reason you could be ticked off at rejection. 4. If they gave you tips, use the tips they gave you. Then they won't reject it next time. I'm not sure if anything unfinished qualifies as submission material. xD Never say "Always the next submission" or "Just good enough to make the cut" because 1. Who cares if there's the next submission? Whatever the hell happened to THIS SUBMISSION?! 2. Don't make it "just good enough to make the cut" and stop working on it, make it as good as you possibly can! Otherwise, even if it gets accepted, when you get more experience you'll look back and say "jeez why didn't I do *so and so*?" -
I'm a thirteen year old composer. What do you expect? 9-()-P Thumbs down.

... d-(o.0)-b You get a thumbs up from Mr. Googly Eye face. That is all.

I'm not so sure if judges will take issue with the instrumentation, but it seems pretty decent! I say you sub it! "Overusing common presets, relying heavily on prerecorded loops, or employing nothing but basic tones or "chiptunes" is discouraged." Says that in submission rules, but seeing how the chiptune-y feel is intentional and makes it sound good, I don't think it's much of a problem.
