  1. Having already listened to the album in its entirety (amazing party, w00t w00t), I can say for certain that this is absolutely brilliant. The level of ability on each track stays consistent all over, and it sounds extremely good. It's like an early Christmas present.
  2. Okay, I'm going to say this simply because its been bugging me. I see that there are supposed to be 47 tracks done. Add that on to the 8 bonus tracks not mentioned, and you should have 55 tracks total. I went back and found I only had 54. So... where's the last one? Specifically, Avaris' mix of Cecil Becomes a Paladin.
  3. I always liked Random Hero's versions of songs, especially concerning the ones he did for Legend of Zelda and Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Not only was this just as good, but almost ten times better in a lot of respects. Brilliant as always, sir.
  4. At the very least, I think this song will be a very fun challenge. It's as crazy as it gets, methinks. I accept!!! Edit: I just realized the MIDI file doesn't work for my source tune. Hmm, can something be done about that?
  5. Funny thing, that. That way, we'd have at least a little leeway. At this point, they should at least give us a small extension on the time we have to accept it. If we don't get it today, well then, everyone else gets a head start.
  6. I had a pretty good laugh when I looked on the site this morning to find this mix up, for two reasons: 1. I had heard this months ago, and already thought it was completely brilliant. 2. I never thought OC ReMix would ever have this on the site. Looks like they caught up with the rest of the world. Anyways, great and completely amazing mix, Kate. Your voice is as stunning as always, the arrangement fits everything together perfectly, and the beauty of the original takes a light all its own. Keep up the amazing work, and hope to see much more.
  7. Also, there are the few who haven't even gotten their source tune yet and are looking at the stars in wonderment as to why Christmas hasn't come yet.
  8. Yes, quite... 'cept we have two months to reciprocate that gift for the whole community to share in wondrous glee and giggling. Or it could end up turning into Hell.
  9. Seeing as I'm just as much a die-hard Kingdom Hearts fan as the next one, I'm putting in my two cents. The first two cents: remixes of "This is Halloween" will most likely not be posted. Not because of the quality of the mix or anything like that, but because the song was arranged and not made for Kingdom Hearts. It was made for the movie. This is a video game music remix site. Sorry... KieranCarden: I totally agree with most of your ideas. The reason there aren't too many is that either not enough people are going to lengths to remix them or the people remixing aren't getting accepted. I'm not saying I mean to remedy that, but I am in the process of remixing "Rowdy Rumble". I'm also looking at the other songs listed, and trying to get some ideas (or rather, how to get those ideas to sound good enough). Long live Kingdom Hearts! Let's get more on here, eh?
  10. I'm feeling this. Oh, I'm feeling this big time. Very jazzy and rocking... I'm simply at a loss of what to say on this, other than that its really brilliant. I didn't even know I had a craving for sax soloing... but now that its being tamed, I can't stop listening to this amazingness! Great job, Brad. This is a pure winner.
  11. It'll be interesting if anything I put out sounds good, let alone listenable.
  12. Happy Birthday Star Salzman! May your mixes be posted constantly, whether they be epics or fun things (or both).
  13. I honestly think that if I send in any more song requests, I'm going to be yelled at, beaten with a stick, and thrown in a furnace to burn. Otherwise, I have more ideas I could send in today.
  14. Honestly, I was new to the whole VGM ReMixing scene at the beginning of this year, and I remember listening to Mazedude's God of War ReMix, "Minotaur Nightmares". First off, I was completely terrified by the end of it and couldn't sleep for weeks, but more importantly, I sat up and was like, "This is really good." So, after a little bit, I succumbed to OCReMix's ideals of downloading all the songs on the site, even if I hadn't played the games. One of the first things I did before anything else was look up Mazedude again and check out some of the other tracks he had put up. Rather than find that the first song was the only good one (like I usually do with profound and unique artists), I found myself loving it all. This song is absolutely no different, and yet completely unlike anything before it. I almost thought something was wrong with my computer, my headphones, anything... of course, that was because I had downloaded the song without reading the writeup first (lol). Realizing that it was done on purpose just made me grin and love it a whole lot more. Heads up, everyone. Mazedude is in the house, so get lost inside of the wondrousness that is his music.
  15. Thanks, I'm still new to this and so its pretty confusing. You rock!
  16. Okay, thanks. Just some quick questions... what did you mean by taking out the middle of the kick? What would I use to do so? And I'm still somewhat confused on how to add in fx and sweeps... I hope I'm not being a bother, just want this to turn out well.
  17. Thanks for the comments, jabond. I also got some feedback from zircon, and I messed around some more with it. I've got a pretty good idea of how to expand it from here, but I want to hear if what I've got works, and if not, what part of it doesn't. Updated version (6/11/09) above
  18. I really like most of what is done here. The beginning flies pretty well with me, and so does most of the rest of it... ...except for the part where the guitar actually starts in. Every time it does that, it really adds in an extra beat somewhere along the way, so my ears have to adjust and redo it in my head. I shouldn't have to do that at all. Otherwise, I went ahead and listened through the earlier mixes of this. This has come a long way, and fixing that little problem would be a huge step forward to letting the rest of the site hear this. Keep up the good work, man!
  19. Hey everyone. Hitori here (my abbreviated name) with a work-in-progress ReMix that I'd like to be taken a look at. The source is Rowdy Rumble from Kingdom Hearts 2. It's right here: This isn't even close to done, and I'm definetly working on it more, but I wanted some feedback on where to go, what works, what doesn't, etc. Constructive criticism so as to construct the building that is my song. Happy listening, and please comment! Oh, and ignore the file name... lol.
  20. Great. Thanks for the answer, it just didn't quite specify... or if it did, then I still asked anyways.
  21. This may seem like a stupid question, but then, that works for me. Can ReMixers themselves submit challenges as long as they themselves don't get them? Because I have a couple good ideas floating around, and don't want them turned down simply because I'm already doing some ReMixing.
  22. You know what? This is exactly what I need to get into this thing once and for all. Sign me up!
