Email sub file Metroid Techno Mission.mp3 Name of the song: Metroid Techno Mission My screename: ManhuntGms@aim.com My Username: DrClay Remix from: Metroid zero mission and the Original Metroid (the one on NES) (their both the same song though) Song: Kriad's Hidout stage (thats the title in both games) Description of the song: I love the Kriad's Hidout song. So i made a remix of it. This is really my second remix of it. I first started with a MIDI program long ago last summer and it sounded really good. I later on found a better program for making music. so i converted the MIDI music into a better more realistic sounding. but it sounds nothing like my old one. My old one was called "Metroid Spirits" My first one is on Newgrounds along with my other stuff. And remember everyone. Anything can be music. Anything. NOTE :The file is currently in an attachment. sorry guys but its the only way i could do it.

Alright. Second submission. *rubs palms together* I've upgraded my samples as you might notice, and this time I actually listened to some feedback. It seems to me this is about as good as it's going to get with my level of ability at the time of this writing, and I hope you enjoy it. The main section of the theme and my remix are very close, but there are many minor and major variations throughout the song. I originally did this for PRC54. http://vgmix.com/songs/Ichitootah_-_Intangible_as_the_Snow(Mega_Man_X_3).mp3 Remix title: Intangible as the Snow Remixer Name: Ichitootah Remixer's actual name: Collin Meredith Remixer's Website: Ichitootah.com (No longer defunct!) Remixer's Email: ichitootah@gmail.com Game remixed: Mega Man X3 Song Remixed: Trail on Powdery Snow I hope to see an, if not necessarily favorable, enlightening outcome. And leave the link in please. I love it when people leave the link in as I find it makes reading the decisions much more educational, and I'm always happy to help people learn when I can. Thanks. -Ichitootah Edit - Gray: He sent me this pm below: I've seen people message you with stuff like this, so I thought you'd probably be the best one to contact. A while back I submitted a song that's source tune I thought was from Mega Man X3, entitled Intangible as the Snow (It's in the to be judged queu at the moment). Well, it turns out that the game's actually Mega Man Zero 3, not X. I've never played a Mega Man game in my life, so all these similar-but-different titles kind of confuse me. Sorry for any hassle this may have caused, hope I clarified before any sort of major calamity happened. Thanks.

As I am continually forced by my professors to compose original music in various modern idioms, I feel more and more drawn to arranging game music in styles I'd prefer to listen to. Next up is a take on the Ordinary People track (1-03) from Seiken Densetsu 3 that resembles the quick and colorful orchestrations of Russian composers Alexander Borodin and Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov. This is actually the first time I went the other way around and decided upon what style I wanted to do first, then found a track that fit the criteria. I wanted a rustic, folk-sounding dance, and I found that here. For the B theme I used my favorite track Can You Fly, Sister? (3-01) which resembles the original much more than what I do elsewhere in the piece. Why? I guess you could say it's because much of this arrangement is based on the first four measures of the Ordinary People track, but I do manage to make other references to the original. I really hope people will listen to this and say "Yeah, that's SD3 alright!" and not "There he goes again, off on some kind of tangent." email sub file MMX4_Divine Mind.mp3 My Remixer Name: DJ Frost Real Name: Wesley Hudson E-mail: athron@bellsouth.net Name of Remixed Game: Megaman X4 Name of Song: Zero's opening theme Thoughts: The original song really needs no remix, but it was one of my all time favorites. My original idea was to turn it into a slower classical/orchestrated piece. However, I did not have the means to do so. So I just used a style that was familiar to me. Most of you may see the infuence video game BGM has already had on my style. Still, I made it unique with the use of DX10's, a synth I believe to be very underated. You see the effects that they brought to this piece. I urge the judges to give me a full and honest opinion on this piece so that I have a better understanding of what this site is looking for in its music. Thank you all for your time and consideration. I hope that in the future that I will be able to submit more and better music to such a kickass website. Word up!

ReMix Info: Name of game(s) ReMixed: Final Fantasy 6 Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Shadow's Theme Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc.: I started playing around with some new software I got a while ago. I couldn't come up with a nice melody myself so i started remixing one of my favorite tracks from FF6. The mix is faster than the original 80 -> 130 bpm. I decided to not use to many effects (filters und stuff) and keep the arrangment rather simple to match the original a bit in that way. If you need any more information, feel free to contact me.

(yes, the title is "borrowed" from a Guided By Voices song) This was supposed to be for the "experimental" Earthbound project I was planning that eventually got cancelled because it wasn't going much of anywhere and I didn't time needed to really push it harder. Bound Together was coincidentally released right after my cancellation, and I wrote a lengthy and somewhat negative review of it that might have pissed a few people off and got me hit a little bit harder in reviews and comments when I released this mix on vgmix. Or maybe not. Ignoring the review, this one does go more extreme with dynamics and does a lot of different things in a short period of time, so I can maybe understand why it would be too intense for some people. Still, I really see this as a logical extension of the kirby mix - lots of effects and the "wall of sound"-type stuff. It obviously is more succinct and takes some ideas to the extreme (I really think I improved my percussion a lot from much of the cheap loop-based stuff I've used before, for example), but it's not too much of a stretch to me. I hope people enjoy this, but I have a feeling I'll get more of the kinds of responses I got previously. I put a lot of effort into intentionally making everything sound this way, and it makes me angry when I get more flack than if I would have "gone the easy route" with this. I just think it's necessary to expand the pallete of people in the community who are used to hearing things a certain way. Plus it's much more fun for me to fuck around with knobs. I'll close with my mini-description on vgmix (which is where the link to the mix is due to me no longer having a server): This is about a kid who looks towards machines to give him the answers to everything. It's about an awkward, and uncomfortable kid who fidgets obsessively over the slightest tweaks in the bits in pieces of whatever the lastest thing is he's working on. But mostly, it's about a kid who's too naive not to know he can help save the world (with the assistance of a magical monkey, of course). - Adhesive_Boy

Greetings! As you are hopefully aware, I have been working on a project quite some time now, known as "The American Album." As the release draws near, I am hereby sending you what has been acclaimed as the "catchiest" track off the album for Overclocked Remix front page feature to coincide with the release of the album. You may download the mix directly here: But if you have a minute I would highly suggest visiting the page I created for this specific remix release: , where you may read more details regarding the project. I have also provided a cover graphic from the game, considering this will be the first Commander Keen 5 remix on Overclocked. The album will be released by December 1st, so stay tuned. I will send you an e-mail as soon as I officially unveil it. It may be much sooner than December 1st, at the rate I'm going. If there are ANY problems with this, please let me know as soon as possible so we may reach another arrangement. Thanks a million, Mazedude http://www.mazedude.com/aa

Hi there, I'd like to submit another remix of mine. Name of song: It's Fine, Learn 2 Dance. Name of Game: Streets of Rage 2 Track Name: Stage 4 (under logic?) Original Composer: Yuzo Koshiro System: Sega Megadrive Remixer Name: Ellywu Link: (Sorry its a VGmix link. I only have accounts there and on soundclick, and seeing as both change the tags If you would like me to upload it somewhere else that wont be a problem.) Its a big-beat type remix of stage 4 from SoR2. There was a bit of fuss over on VGmix because well, i used an inaccurate midi when writing out the song. I'll just copy and paste what i said there: 'When i can't transcribe a song by ear, which is pretty common because msuic theory>me, i fall back on using a midi to get the notes of a song.' If this breaches OCR guidelines then sorry for wasting time Thanks again! Ellywu.

OMG! HEAR IS REMICKS!Q HEAR IT.! Well originallly (check out that triple L action!) my plan was to only submit my VG arrangements to OCR in Chronological order. Going back through my drawer of VG arrangments, I decided that I wouldnt be submitting everything. (at least not in its current state. Expect something about wizards wearing armor in the near future reproduced and near-completely retooled from its currentform.) So yeah, My Mother, Starfox, Earthbound, Kid niki the radical ninja, and gauntlet remixes all get the axe, unless I retool those later as well like I am with my classified remix debut of a cutting edge guitar synth that isnt pubblic yet. ) Anyways, I was listening to this track and pondering the question of why I hadnt submitted this to OCR yet. The answer was that the other older mixes were holding it back. givven the state of the judges panel, if I was to release this in the future, after I had submitted newer stuff, this one wouldnt have a chance at getting posted but for a direct post. it is not my intention to create music for no one to listen to, and for this reason I will only be submitting my remixes in chronological order. And no, I do not believe in the whole take it back and re-work it philosophy when put in the context of "this was the best I could produce at the time." this is a piece of my musical history, and should have a chance to go where everything else I have done does. Those other remixes are awesome, but a little too straight lace for OCR's standards, and the panel doesnt seem to give yes's anymore to music from remixers who have beben posted unless there is a signifigant pop/indy factor, a half dozen atonal melodies and 7 reclassification of mode and genre. Oh yeah obligatory Key changes are in. Gripes aside, they are an excellent control method, but i think they need to be more lax and really lower the bar. it turns off too many new mixers to music when they are told that they need to go back and redo it. If its a first time newb mix its one thing, but when there is signifigant musical value, bbut the production is flawed, its not fair to the Joe anybody who doesnt know where to get the latest and greatest or best free stuff. Enough ramble. This is a remix of Shademan from Mega man seven, dating back to PRC26. Compyfox was too busy to balance and master this track for me . But he is still my mix monkey. For those of you into MM7. Shademan was the level where if you held down A on the controller during the intro screen, hidden stage music would play. the music was from Ghosts and Goblins. So if you were wondering why the hell, well now you know why the hell. also, there is the normal shademan music all over the place in this obviously. Be gentle, this one is oldish and wears Depends. New obscure game mixes to follow soon! Yay! Maybe not, silly 3 week waiting period before next submits. Production Notes FYI included in ID3tag comments section: Excerpt: " !! WEASELS IN MY PANTS~!!" FEAR!!!!!!! PS: Shael Riley for OCR judge 2006, Kamoh for OCR Janitor 2001 PSS: this mix will not pass the judging guidelines at OLR.

Hi ! First submission, I hope it will be a good try ! Regards, Irzul ReMixer name: Irzul Country: FRANCE Email: kakarotvsmajinboo@hotmail.com Websites: http://perfect-zelda.net and http://zelda-musique.perfect-zelda.net ReMixer name: Metallizer Country: FRANCE Email: metallizer@is06.com Websites: http//www.is06.com Remix info: Game: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Song: Farewell Hyrule King I wanted to make a melancholic remix of this song because i think the original one is not very sad. I made a totally new arrangement with new chords. I also added a special part to the song at 2:04 that reminds the Overworld. Then, I've played with the velocities and the tempo. To mix it, I was helped by a friend, Metallizer, who mixed the song with a Steinway piano. He also helped with some note tweaking. After some attempts with various change of velocities, the song was finished.

Hi Overclocked, I'm submitting a new remix. I previously submitted this track then yanked it back for more work. This time it doesn't need any yanking. ReMixer name: Bloomer My real name: Wade Clarke My email: bloomer@iprimus.com.au Game I've remixed: Athena (Commodore 64). Soundtrack by Martin Galway. Published by Imagine Software, 1987. Name of my remix: Tigress Remix v2.0 Name of individual songs remixed: The tracks in the SID don't have names, but it's track 1. Note this is NoT the same mix as the one up at VGMix, hence the 'v2.0' to distinguish a significantly differently mixed file that exists online. --- The informational background leaflet --- Athena is a cute little bobble-headed sprite in the game, but Imagine's cover art and 1987 magazine ad showed a very serious Amazon queen hacking apart a minotaur in a grim-looking forest. I was just an impressionable kid at the time! I COULD NOT MENTALLY WARD OFF THIS POWERFUL ADVERTISEMENT!!! So more than a decade later, the imaginary zone between Galway's title mantra for the c64 soundtrack and the serious imagery of that poster is the zone from whence this remix comes. What was in my head as I composed this was the idea of Athena having serious adventures which run the gamut of moods. In chronological order in the song, there's the joyful element of adventuring, yelling, tribally drum marching (which kind of defines the percussion here), then there's the brooding by night and having sex with some probably disposable man-vassals, maybe on a slab of brimstone in the jungle, and finally some kind of confrontation with, contemplation of and engagement with a greater darkness. It's a tough life for Athena. The audio was composed in Computer Muzys on a PC, then much later copied in slabs to the G5 I've since bought and mixed in my new home of Logic Express. Link to remix: Link to original (use Sidplay, track 1): Cya, - Wade
