  1. Nope; we are first and foremost a resource for VGM, not originals, and maintaining that scope keeps things manageable. Of course, I pimp original works in writeups, and when we go live w/ blogs that will give artists yet another way of promoting anything not explicitly VGM-related... in this case, the link is *specific* to the ReMix itself, not the artist. I used the term "Featured on" because it's a little loose, but what we're really referring to is the album where the mix itself was originally released. I *knew* there was something from Chozo - thanks for mentioning it, fixed.

HUGE thanks to Brian DiDomenico, Cindy Shapiro, David Kates, Jack Wall, Jimmy Hinson, Sam Hulick, Mattias, and everyone who contributed questions for the interview! Alien Sex!
  3. I'm awful at this game, and I was awful at SF4, and I confess to lacking the patience to adjust from the single-digit frame windows of HDR to the looseness of SF4. It's not SF4, it's me. That being said, while I'm bad with her, I do at LEAST have FUN playing as Juri.
  4. Not a HUGE deal, but still kinda nice & logical - we've gone ahead and integrated associated album info on ReMix detail pages, when relevant. You can see that a mix was featured on an album, there's a link to that album, and the album cover artwork appears above the game screenshot/box art. It's the little things, right? Tasty Examples: http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02000/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01923/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01617/ http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01877/ - djp
  5. Damn, nice setup Jared. Here's hoping those deer heads inspire you to submit something
  6. Agreed. "more techno crap. great" is not even directly stating an opinion, it's just whining. People shouldn't get huffy and puffy about being able to "express their opinions" and "say what they think" when they can't form a cogent, track-specific comment.
  7. Do any of these devices read plain ole, DRM-free, PDFs?
  8. Sounds like forum confirmation email, to me... or mix submission confirmation... need clarification.
  9. Man, that's just badass. Great to hear things are going well, checked out the video, it was somewhat surreal to see an OC ReMixer we all know & love playing cello behind a bunch of blonde hotties on TV. Didn't understand a word they were saying but it didn't really matter - I think you should exert your songwriting influence and get them to ditch the last-minute key change at the end, but I was also diggin' the song! Any chance it could be Sweden's entry for Eurovision? It's easily better than most of the entries from last year! Sad on some level that it's gonna mean fewer mixes from one of my favorite mixers, but brilliant that you're getting the exposure and success you deserve!
  10. Sorry, that was YEAR, not month - good catch Otherwise I'd either be very gullible or we'd have the most over-powered server in the world I've been really out of it w/ headaches and general crappy health the last few days, and was fuzzy in the head.
  11. The gxboxlive plugin we had before kept throwing vbulletin/SQL errors, so I removed it. I still need to fix the icon links, but since I'm retemplating for vbulletin 4.0 that's not a huge emphasis at the moment. After the fact, since this IS profile info, it'd be nice to have database-generated lists and not have to aggregate using threads, that's a valid point.
  12. Grand total: $2,386!! Given that we didn't set a specific goal, that's really awesome support! That covers well over half a YEAR of hosting and should put us in a great position to do another large shirt/hoodie restock! Huge thanks to all!
  13. Quick version: I love it... Dances with Wolves, basically, with amazing visuals and less overall substance. Upon rewatching, they really do very little to mask the similarities. Unobtainium? That hits me the wrong way every single time. Lamium, more like, AMIRITE? Dances with Wolves had a much, much, much better soundtrack; Andy might be correct that Avatar had some neat sound design going on, I don't even know, I just know the whole thing sounds extremely pedestrian, like a severely diluted version of 'Baba Yetu,' without the strong melody. It is Horner's most forgettable work, in my opinion, but I still dig the film.
  14. Bumping for 2010 (see first post)
