  1. Gracias to K.B. for the vote tallying - much appreciated!
  2. Or Vocal Game Music, which probablematically shares the acronym VGM. Or Shariq suggested Game Music Vocal. But to me, both of those have issues. Larry missed this:
  3. Just to reiterate my vote, hopefully starting a trend: Joe Musashi Phoenix Wright Guybrush Threepwood
  4. We preferably needs links/images/sources for all of these. For the credit clarifications obtained through interviews, I'm not sure how we're handling those yet...
  5. I assume you're using IE8? This isn't the forum upgrade, that'll look significantly different. This was an HTML/CSS change to switch from using *somewhat* hackish nested div tags to instead using the CSS3 rounded-corner property. IE8 doesn't support this, but FF35, Chrome, Opera 10.5 all do. IE9 is supposed to, when it comes out. I realize the aesthetic will be slightly less pleasing for our IE users, but to me it's worth the tradeoff for much cleaner HTML/CSS. Approximately: Before: <div class="panel-white"> <div class="panel-white-tl"> </div> <div class="panel-white-tr"> </div> <div class="panel-white-inside"> STUFF GOES HERE!! </div> <div class="nogap"> </div> <div class="panel-white-bl"> </div> <div class="panel-white-br"> </div> </div> After: <div class="panel-white"> STUFF GOES HERE!! </div> ... I didn't move the private messages link - is it still not showing up, after refreshing? It should not have been affected. If you're not using IE8 or earlier, please let me know what you are using. Again, IE9 should come along this year, and has been advertised to support rounded-corners. Part of my decision-making process was that vBulletin 4, which WILL be the forum upgrade, employs rounded-corners in its default theme, and simply looks boxy in IE. I figured if they're gonna do it, so am I, plus I like the cleaner code.
  6. In general we discourage such lists on the forums, BUT... when we get the blogs up and running, I think we'll allow people to do top 10, top 100, etc., since it's a more appropriate setting. Should be interesting.
  7. Not really an album per se, but I found Eurovision 2010 to be REALLY inferior to last year, in Moscow. Not really recent, but I didn't dig the new direction with Portishead's third album - I'm still waiting for Dummy Part II, I guess; I thought it was rather silly how they abandoned their initial sound, there was more territory to explore within that framework.
  8. Just now FINALLY caught time to read the thread - thanks, everybody! There was actually a lack of VGM at the wedding, as we were catering to a mixed audience and had to work in plenty of Russian tunes, the crazy Jewish Hava Nagila medley where we were both (successfully!) lifted up on chairs, and generally familiar musics that our awesomely diverse crowd could relate to. It was an epic affair - Larry caught the garter, I had a SingingPretzel moment, we were serenaded by a spritely circle of OCR peeps as we danced to "Kiss from a Rose", Anna looked beautiful, and there were many fine toasts. It's one of those days you can't really squeeze into a forum post, but it was truly an event to remember. Also, as an unexpected bonus, since the red wine and vodka were far more popular, I now have 7 unopened bottles of Jack in my dining room We'll obviously be doing the official thank you cards to those of you who attended - it was a small but very vocal OCR minority! - but I'd like to thank everyone here for the congrats and for holding down the fort while I was away!
  9. http://ocremix.org/forums/tags.php?tag=lyrics we're planning on redoing tags and making them easier to use, and more visible, but this list might have a few extra. Please let us know if that list is complete, because the eventual solution will be based on that data.
  10. You can't upgrade at all, it's a fresh install, period. Not just applications, the whole OS, AFAIK. As we were telling zircon in #ocremix today, better to move to Win7 x64, which is more mainstream in terms of support at this point.
  11. Five New Summer 2010 Mascots Added! Vote for 10 More - Cutoff is June 21! Juri (ssf4), Shepherd (Mass Effect), Fei Long (HDR), Scrooge McDuck (Ducktales), and T. Hawk (HDR) have all been added. UPDATED - VOTING! I'll be adding the Blue Tap Runner since I said I would, so I'm not including it. There were some great suggestions but I had to boil the list down a bit. A vb poll really won't work since I think we need everyone to indicate their first, second, and third preferences. So just respond to this thread and hopefully someone can help me tally votes? When you vote, reply with your first, second, and third preferences from the list. For example, here is my vote: Joe Musashi Phoenix Wright Guybrush Threepwood And here is the list to select from - I know it's not EVERYTHING that was proposed, but I think I hit most of the ones that were more popular, less represented currently, and have mixes, more or less. Axl (MMX) Bartz "Butz" Klauser Bill Rizer (Contra) Companion Cube Conker Dr. Light Faize (Star Ocean 4) Goemon Guybrush Threepwood Hakan Heavy (TF2) Heroes of Newerth (weird owl thing) Joe Musashi Kefka LeChuck Luna (Lunar Series) Makoto Master Chief Nathan "Rad" Spencer (Bionic Commando) Phoenix Wright Q*Bert Rayman Red from Pokémon Rygar Sazh Katzroy Zero Zidane Your first selection gets three points, your second two, and your third one, then we tally the points and go with the top ten. If someone wants to step up and take the lead on tracking votes in a separate reply, I'd be very grateful! We need to get moving so voting will be cut off on the night of June 21, and the new mascots will be added soon after that. Also, great work on the suggestions - if they didn't make the first cut or they don't get votes, there's always next time!
  12. Code is already there, challenge is purely GUI/layout related... I wanna do Jquery tabs for this sort of thing, might take a bit but it's "on the list"
