  1. To Strader: I should've expected someone to say that sooner or later. I think the problem is more like "half the most popular games since 2007 have been shooters, and there's little room left for innovation in that genre." To The Damned: Stop cussing at me! I just remember the XBOX and XBOX 360 icons so vividly because they were written in acid green and/or silver. As for the years, with 2001-2009, it's a long story, but it started when I realized that if the 2 is removed from 2007, you're left with a famous character's nickname. To DarkeSword: You're the only mod here I know of. If I've really caused too much trouble like I think I have, I'll surrender my account to the admins. I don't value my account that much anyway.
  2. Right! And we all know how long after launch it took for Sony to get things in high gear! If you ask me, it wasn't until 2009 that the PlayStation 3's price had subsided adequately, and there was enough good software to make it worth the buy. The XBOX 360 launched at the beginning of 2006, and it had substantial software by the end of 2007, but the price didn't recede until September 2009 IIRC. The Wii launched in early 2007, and by May 2008, it had just over half the software to make that worth it. In October 2009, the Wii got a price drop to $200. But in terms of system power, they do seem like they're reaching their cap. The graphics quality on games is almost exactly the same as 2007. So maybe the WIIU won't be quite as powerful as the 3rd XBOX console or PlayStation 4. I'm not counting on any breakthroughs, so it'll probably be by a reasonable margin.
  3. Upon looking more closely, I take back my previous comments on the Wii U controller. It's definitely not the worst I've ever seen, but rather it's mediocre. As long as the controller feels tolerable to hold, and the people making games for it don't try and do too much with all the features of that controller, it shouldn't be that bad. The worst controller I've ever seen was for the Atari 5200, and for the Wii U's controller to be even half as bad is a bit of a long shot.
  4. I was hoping we could measure O-Clocked's approval rating of Smash 1, Melee, and Brawl (individual approval ratings, not in relation to each other). Does anyone have any better ideas than a poll?
  5. To Overflow: Mr. Game & Watch is among my top 3 characters along with Ike and Fox. Still, if you arranged the characters from whom I was best with to whom I was worst with, the gradient would be gentle (that can't be said of Melee). On topic: I'm hoping they finally make Ridley playable, most of all.
  6. My intuition tells me that the problems surrounding the Wii U ("Doubleyou aye aye you" would've made for a better pronounciation) controller are being exaggerated?
  7. I know how you feel. I've already dropped all my anticipation for E3 2012. They already have a checkered past with E3 2008 anyway.
  8. What is WRONG with video game controllers lately? First, Sony teased a boomerang controller for the PlayStation 3 in 2005. That was scrapped in favor of SixaxiS. Then the Wii remote/nunchaku controller gets all its potential wasted, now this! It's in their best interests to make it more graceful or design an all-new controller because controllers haven't impressed me in years.
  9. All 5 eighth gen consoles ("Wii U" [used loosely, I honestly think "2nd Wii" would've been a better title], 3DS, PlayStation Vita, 4th PlayStation console, and 3rd Microsoft console) have a long way to go to prove themselves in my eyes.
  10. Provided it's true, this is the one and only thing I've liked the sound of over the past 2 days.
  11. Funny you should ask. I've considered making music, but that's all. I lack the machinery, technical know-how, and talent that's needed for it. Most places I go to online, I get along with others just fine, but in forums about music and music production, I always wear out my welcome. It's always music production communities where I end up making a (censored) of myself!

  12. I concur with screwattack.com's assessment of Microsoft and Sony's conference. Tsumaranai with a couple clips of good software.
  13. OKAY! OKAY! FINE! I GIVE UP! YOU WIN THIS ARGUMENT!

...but I won't start liking Grand Theft Auto because I'm not fond of gang culture all that much. In return, I'll admit something: my account here has never gotten good use, and I've considered closing it this past winter. Other forums I've been to had the option of self-closing accounts. Does O-Clocked have it? It also dawned on me that I anticipate some of these projects way too much. If by some chance, I'm not held in that low of regard, I've considered running away from O-Clocked and coming back in a year from now to see if I've changed my vices.

  14. But the production quality's not even the problem! With all these kodomo playing Grand Theft Auto, authorities keep asking questions about us gamers! Like, "can people be driven to hurt others with games like Grand Theft Auto, or does it have no effect?!" or "Is it okay if someone is less sensitive to violence?" or "How should Australia and Europe make a well-informed decision on how to filter in/out graphic video games?" or "Is there a good way to make sure video games don't fall into the wrong hands?" If I had any half-decent answers to questions like these, I would've already posted them hundreds of times across the internet! Besides, why didn't RockStar do a better job of sealing off the Hot Coffee mode in San Andreas if they didn't want 2005's worst video game scandal?

  15. Looking at the 2010 and 2011 E3's, it's amazing to see how poorly Microsoft has been presenting themselves! Don't they get it?! They accomplish less and less the more they promote that (beep)ing Kinect! In 2010, every gamer around me spat on Microsoft's press conference. They found Sony's a but underwhelming, but if Sony or Nintendo don't do well this time around, I'll declare E3 2011 among the weakest links! Then I probably wouldn't look forward to E3 2012.
  16. For almost a decade, I've believed that the public wouldn't be half as afraid of gamers if the Grand Theft Auto series had never been made.

  17. Does dj pretzel even have a Grand Theft Auto themed remix? Even if he did, it's the GTA games I can't talk about without wincing.

  18. In most places I've been online, I've been known for my hatred of the Grand Theft Auto series since 2005. The #1 reason I hate the Grand Theft Auto series is because I perceived it to have put the general public's trust of the gaming community in severe jeopardy. I'm not very worried about someone posting a ReMix of most Grand Theft Auto games because the soundtracks are licensed as far as I know.

  19. That you didn't think there'd be any updates lately, and that everyone else should.... But I'll still be here on June 21 to see if HylianLemon has any word yet on whether Lime of the Season has been upgraded to official album.

  20. Mirby, I couldn't help but notice what you said about Lime of the Season. I'm starting to get scared too. But I might ask... how did it go with Subrosia?

  21. Nintendo was only wrong to publish most of that shovelware. They only developed the White Four (Wii _____ titles). IIRC, most of the shovelware was developed by Data Design Interactive. *Beep* That 3rd-party support was awful, but they released 3 good Mario games, 1 good Donkey Kong title, 1 good Zelda, 1 good Metroid, 1 good Smash Bros, the first 2 No More Heroes titles, and Monster Hunter Tri, but the Mario Kart title was really love-or-hate. On topic: I'm getting more excited by the hour!
  22. Halloween? You don't say... I honor "Christmas in July" every year on July 25. Same would've gone for Halloween had there been nothing to market in May or June. "Halloween in May" would've been on June's Eve, or May 31. It's an early "Halloween in May" release! To Flexstyle: Do you, by any chance, have titles for your two Lime of the Season tracks? To HylianLemon: How have things been going with Lime of the Season?
  23. Not counting Turbo HD Remix, this is the second O-Clocked album I know of that has a theme of traveling around Earth besides Blood on the Asphalt. Are there any other games that involve traveling Earth that any of you think deserve an album project from us?
  24. OK, Emunator, you're starting to scare me again! So we know Enchanted hasn't gotten done because AkumajoBelmont's computer malfunctioned, but what do you know about the other four?
  25. And it's Milky Way Wishes coming next before this, right?
