  1. Voting for this round is now closed. Thank you to everyone who participated!
  2. Hero Bracket Round Two: A Kingdom in Ruin The second round of the Hero Bracket has begun. This week’s sources are based on towns and castles that have been taken over or wiped out by enemies. The match ups and sources for round two are: @Garpocalypse (Ramza) and @Touchstone (Ib) and @Chernabogue (Isaac) : These Feelings ~ Cursed Trodain Theme - Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King @alfredofreak (Ayla) and @Xenonetix (Terra) and @Ghetto Lee Lewis (Leliana) : Dying Village - Breath of Fire Now that we have reached round two, the Party System has unlocked! Each participant has been randomly given an additional character source theme that they may use in place of the one they signed up with. The use of party members is entirely optional. Only you may use the party member you are assigned. Here are the party members assigned to our heroes: Garpocalypse: Alec (Alec’s Theme) from Arc the Lad III Touchstone: Flonne (Do Your Best, Girl!) from Disgaea: Hour of Darkness Ghetto Lee Lewis: Meena and Maya (Gypsy’s Journey) from Dragon Warrior IV Xenonetix: Dekar (The Strongest Man) from Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals alfredofreak: Vyse (Vyse's Theme) from Skies of Arcadia Chernabogue: Aigis (Heartful Cry) from Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES Heroes will have until noon EDT on Monday, June 13 to submit their mixes to me. Good luck heroes!
  3. No worries! Thanks for responding though. Maybe next compo. There's less than an hour left for voting on the first Hero Round choices. It's down to the wire on one match up so if you haven't voted yet, please do so now. There's less than four hours to go before the deadline for the first Villain Round. I've got three submissions in so far, just waiting on Yami and HoboKa now. I'll be starting up the Hero Round 2 shortly after the voting is closed. This is the round where the Party System first becomes available so I'll also be revealing the party members I've randomly picked out for the Hero side. Hopefully everyone likes their optional alternate character themes.
  4. Less than 26 hours remain until the deadline for Villain Round One. I've got one track on its way in so far. Also voting turnout suddenly spiked up to nine people with the match up between Chernabogue and Ghetto Lee Lewis super close with Lewis in the lead now. If you still haven't voted for Hero Round One yet, you've got less than 23 hours left to do so.
  5. How are things going Villains? Have we been making some good (evil?) progress on our tracks so far? Also, so far we've had four votes put in on the first Hero round. We've got a nice diverse assortment of tracks for the round and it would be great if more people checked them out and voiced their opinions.
  6. I think it would be better if you focused your efforts on making a comeback in Round 2, Xenonetix, especially since that begins next week. Sorry man. I hope I didn't cause any confusion on the timing of the deadline. For those of you who've heard the first round's tracks, do you have any thoughts you'd like to share about them? I'll post my own later in the week.

Voting for the Hero Round One of the rRPC. The match ups are: Garpocalypse (Ramza) and alfredofreak (Ayla) : Wings of Hope - Tales of the Abyss Chernabogue (Isaac) and Ghetto Lee Lewis (Leliana) : Raging Sea - Crystalis You may download the music here.
  8. Had this blasting in my car after I got out of work today. Sad to note that the Super Mario Galaxy track is absent but I can understand why it probably was cut. I still need to get to the last couple tracks but it's been great so far. Glad it's finally out, great job! And somehow, I'm not surprised it's DJ Snivy jamming out the Pokemon track.
  9. This thread is for voting on the entries for the rRPC 2016 Hero Bracket Round One. The match ups to vote on are: Garpocalypse (Ramza) and alfredofreak (Ayla) : Wings of Hope - Tales of the Abyss Chernabogue (Isaac) and Ghetto Lee Lewis (Leliana) : Raging Sea - Crystalis You may download the music here. Please refrain from posting in this thread. If you want to post a review of the tracks for the round, please do so in a single post in the main thread for the rRPC 2016. You may vote for yourself in your own match ups. Please consider the quality of the arrangements when casting your votes, along with production value and your personal enjoyment of each mix. Voting will be open until 9 am EDT on Monday, June 6.
  10. It doesn't really feel right to delay things any further. It's not fair for everyone else who did manage to get their music in on time, so I'm going to release the music for the Hero Round One. You may download the files here. I will update the opening post with the link and create the polls for two of the three match ups. Remember we aren't doing eliminations until the finals, so Xenonetix, you'll get a chance to redeem yourself in Round Two. Thanks for your patience everyone.
  11. Sorry for the delay guys. I'm hoping Xenonetix logs in soon, I would hate to have someone miss the first deadline of the compo. Just about everything else is lined up though, and I have good news on top of that. Odai has finished our sig banners for the rRPC 2016! I'll be sending everyone a PM with a link to the folder the files are all in shortly.
  12. Five out of six tracks are in and the deadline has passed. I'll give @Xenonetix a little more time to get his track in to me while I go over the entries and make my preparations to get the voting started.
  13. So far I've received four out of six tracks for the round. Two more to go with less than an hour left. I've got a couple errands I need to run but when I return, the submission period should be over and I will begin preparing for the first round of voting.
  14. You can choose between HoboKa's Lloyd and Supercoolmike's Mithos. There are definitely some interesting combinations this round. And Heroes, you've got roughly 11 hours left before the deadline. So far I've received two entries.
  15. Villain Bracket Round One: Inevitable Betrayal The first round of the Villain Bracket has begun! Unlike the Hero Bracket, the Villains will be using their source themes against their opponents’ themes. Due to there being an odd number of participants in this bracket, there will be a 3-way match up. For anyone in this match up, you get to choose which of your opponents you want to use the source of. The match ups are as follows: @Yami (Dark Gaia) vs @Ronald Poe (Xehanort) @Supercoolmike (Mithos) vs @TimothyWilliamProductions (Sephiroth) vs @HoboKa (Lloyd) Villains will have until noon on Monday, June 6 Eastern time to submit their mixes. Please be sure to follow the instructions for submitting your music. Best of luck Villains!

Round One of the Villain side of the ReMix Role-Playing Competition 2016. The match ups of the round are: Yami (Dark Gaia) vs Ronald Poe (Xehanort) Supercoolmike (Mithos) vs Timothy William (Sephiroth) vs HoboKa (Lloyd) For more details, visit the rRPC 2016 thread.
  17. Just a reminder that I'll be opening up the first Villain round later today, probably about nine hours or so from now. And the current Hero round has about 29 hours left before its deadline. I hope you've all been making some good progress on your mixes. I'm very eager to hear what you put together. And just a reminder, I dropped the elimination aspect of the compo prior to the finals, so even if you don't do well in the first round, you'll still have a chance to make a comeback in round 2.
  18. Just posting to say that I've made some edits to the opening post regarding some of the changes to the layout of the compo. Basically removed anything associated with the elimination aspect of the original brackets format I was planning to use. I also have a spreadsheet made up of everyone's characters and all the current round themes, complete with YouTube links. I'll be updating it as more themes come into play between the Hero rounds and after people start receiving party members at the start of Round 2. I also posted a link to the spreadsheet in the opening post. I hope everyone is making some good headway with their mixes. I'm looking forward to hearing them.
  19. Just do the best you can. You can always go back to the track after the compo is over and polish it up. I still haven't heard back from YoshiBlade on his villain selection. He did say that if someone else wants in that he was fine with letting them take the spot, so if anyone else wants to jump in on the Villain side, there's a place for you if he doesn't get back with me first. On another note, due to Memorial Day being this Monday in the US, I wound up being scheduled to work during the time the current round is set to end. So, I'm going to extend the deadline a few extra hours up to 5 PM Eastern time. I will also aim to start the first Villain round either Sunday night right before I go to bed, or first thing in the morning before work on Monday morning if I get up early enough. If I fail to do either, it'll probably end up being between 4 and 5 PM Eastern, but odds are I'll play it safe and start it late Sunday night.
  20. I found one for the Crystalis track but I did not have any luck finding any midis for Tales of the Abyss or Wild Arms 3's airship themes. I hope that does not become an issue for anyone. Crystalis - http://www.rpgamer.com/games/crystalis/cryst/sounds/midi/crysocen.mid
  21. Hero Bracket Round One: Answering the Call Welcome to the first round of the ReMix Role-Playing Competition 2016! The first round of the Hero Bracket will be about traveling themes, specifically, themes associated with riding on mounts, boats, and airships. Here is a rundown of the match ups of the first round and their sources. @Garpocalypse (Ramza) and @alfredofreak (Ayla) : Wings of Hope - Tales of the Abyss @Touchstone (Ib) and @Xenonetix (Terra) : Lightning Blade in the Blue Sky - Wild Arms 3 @Chernabogue (Isaac) and @Ghetto Lee Lewis (Leliana) : Raging Sea - Crystalis ReMixers will have until noon on Monday, May 30 Eastern time to submit their music to me via PM. Please follow the instructions for submitting ReMixes I laid out in the opening post of the thread. Good luck heroes and safe travels!

The first round of the Hero side of the ReMix Role-Playing Competition. The general theme of the round is traveling themes, specifically music associated with riding mounts, sailing in a ship, or flying in an airship. The match-ups are: Garpocalypse (Ramza) and alfredofreak (Ayla) using Wings of Hope from Tales of the Abyss Touchstone (Ib) and Xenonetix (Terra) using Lightning Blade in the Blue Sky from Wild Arms 3 Chernabogue (Isaac) and Ghetto Lee Lewis (Leliana) using Raging Sea from Crystalis Follow the link for more details about the rRPC 2016.
  23. I've got YoshiBlade on standby for our 12th participant so depending on what he goes with, I will take you up on that.
  24. No one else has signed up yet. At this point, I think it would be best to just press on and get the compo rolling. What I'm going to do is pick someone from the undecideds to get the Hero bracket up to six people. If someone wants that spot, feel free to claim it here today, otherwise I'll make the call myself. And during the mixing period of the Hero round 1, I will leave sign ups for the villain side open just in case someone comes along and decides they want in on the action. Of course, if someone new signs up today, then it won't be an issue and we'll be able to proceed without any further concerns. Thanks a lot everyone for signing up and everything you've done to promote the compo to others. Based on the general responses I've seen, it's not so much a lack of interest keeping people from joining in, but a lack of spare time. That sort of thing can't always be helped no matter what you do but I appreciate everyone who took the time to look at the compo, even if they decided to pass on it.
  25. That's too bad, Sir_NutS, but thanks for checking it out. Ronald Poe, I will always be posting in this thread at the start of every round, as well as when I provide links to download each rounds' submissions. You can click the Follow button at the top of the page across from the thread title to be notified whenever someone posts in this thread (I've not done it myself so I'm not sure if you'll get an email or just a notification when you log into the forums, I'm assuming the latter). Now that the forums are upgraded, I suppose I could also tag everyone in the round in my post just to make sure everyone's been alerted. We just need to get at least one more person over the weekend and we should be in good enough shape to make this work. Are there any other compo regulars we haven't tried reaching out to yet?
