  1. If ocr had a one up system, I would +1 you
  2. Music in every genre sounds the same to me.
  3. If you have a kick ass reverb (or know how to use a reverb well) and can work a eq, garritans could be a good contender. but hands down eastwest in quality, samples, expression, etc. I personally prefer the Vienna library
  4. yah hehe! you were the first one to ever hear this one too lol. To think this track almost got canceled XD:tomatoface: I has ADHD XD
  5. *Dances* Agreed, It seems my headphones lied to me when I was mixing the high-ends XD (though I usually dont mix with cans, its was late night) Ok! (still wonders how you found out about my "Airline" alias lol well... their is actually one last remix for a Sonic CD project. Its electro, but a more smooth sound compared to this song.
  6. Honestly I just make session dedicated to drum sequencing and make them into midi loops for rock, jazz, metal, and other stuff lol so when I compose, I just add little things like extra kicks or snares or create short breaks when I need to use them Heck I youtube some other music to see how the drums we're made and cover them sometimes from the beat to the velocity of each hit hehe just my random 2cent
  7. https://soundcloud.com/aires/cystal-zedd-clarity-remix Well im changing the drops before I in for a final mix. not sure if I like them haha.
  8. http://tindeck.com/listen/qwjo or http://tindeck.com/listen/iojw I cant find the one I want
  9. Maybe I will try another experiment with Zebra. It has been a while since I'v tried it, and I know a little more about different types of Vst synths, so I see no reason why I should not give it another go!As for the sound, I find that some of the waveforms in sylenth 1 and fm 8 are a bit warmer/fatter than massive, and a tad heavier in the 60-500hz range. I could be very wrong as well. I did small experiment my self because one day I noticed that some of the waveforms in sylenth 1 sounded a bit "bigger" which had my head spinning. Although I dont use modern talking much, I do process with other plugins on my bass sounds for vocalish sounds on some of my songs (like this http://youtu.be/GVZKf55JpHQ?t=1m30s) and I usually get better/fatter results with Fm8 than massive. Funny thing is, I saw in a post that skrillex said the same things in a interview with musicradar I think(?) that he gets better growl sounds with fm8. I also use massive for heavier sounds as well that I cant get with other synths (or with my synth skills) and I really do like the scream filter and the phase modulation osc. I use it alot in my bass heavy sounds, but usually I eq off the low end and use an another synth with bigger low end range
  10. Ok I don't "hate" it, but im certainty not a fan of it interface wise, The synth never really hits me. feature wise I cant really spot the difference between Zebra or Ableton's Operator (which dada life puts to very good use which I saw in their FM Magazine youtube video hehe). I have noticed that Zebra does have very good sounding filters compared to some other synths, and Zebra is, what can I say, "smooth" sounding sort of like fm8. but I have noticed that zebra,fm8 and sylenth 1 all have fatter sounding ocillators than massive, though sometimes I do prefer having a synth with a thinner sound so I can make some lightly processed sounds and add some distortion to make it fatter.
  11. my usual VSTi for synths are.. Sylenth 1, and Massive at the front of my usual battle command ( examples http://soundcloud.com/aires/air3s-lucky-7-preview with some absynth I think. and )Fm8 One of my favorite synths in my collection! Besides the fact I am a fm synth fan, 80-85% of all the sounds in this song are made with FM8 http://soundcloud.com/aires/blue-eyce-ft-t-carlton Sytrus is one of my favorite synths ever! (http://soundcloud.com/aires/sky for one of the stringy sounds) Nexus is also great. I mean its a sampler, but I like alot of its sounds especially its pianos! (piano example http://soundcloud.com/aires/getting-closer) Absynth second station command(but MAN do I hate the effects bay, but its GREAT!; example )I want to try diva, looks and sounds amazing! and MAN do I hate zebra.
  12. Was gonna remix this later... well I will delay it haha. I like what you did here but I agree with jnWake with some of the points he said
  13. https://soundcloud.com/aires/sky C is for COW
  14. They should call this game SonicXtreme.... I personally cant wait till its out ^.^ It kinda seems like sonic adventure and Hero's for some of the levels hehe (I really liked hero's)
  15. 9's. helps me get that twangy lead sound on maple ♥. tho I do like 13s for cleans. so lovely sounding *also http://bit.ly/13U0lVq Please vote us in the spinnin pool!
  16. http://bit.ly/13U0lVq Please vote us in the spinnin' records demo pool! I know its E3 season and kingdom hearts 3 and ff15 are now in development, but please vote for us in the spinnin pool if you would like to support Me(Air3s) and T.Carlton Who knows what could happen again here is the link. http://bit.ly/13U0lVq also, I'm not sure if I am in the right section; but I do remember we can post music in community if we're posted remixers https://soundcloud.com/aires/blue-eyce-ft (soundcloud version)
  17. Yes, agreeed! I do this in alot of house track when I want snares or claps to blend in with a bit of a snap, which excuses me from using master track buss compression. kinda of like this, but I think I used the stab pluck on the snare. I dont remember https://soundcloud.com/aires/town-joker-electro-house-remix
  18. Depends on what sound I want. If I want something punchy, then I zoom in the snare sample, find the transient I want to keep and have the attack time that duration. and return time low depending how snappy. if I want that 90s sound, I would also add an EQ and and boost the low 200-499hz range with the verb of my choice in the beginning of the chain. but usually if I generally want a powerful snare with nothing more special, all I will do is have the snare as one of the loudest elements in the mix (and I mix pretty dynamically and low), with no compression or EQs and probably a reverb being sent from a return track to the snare. But thats how I do things, and generally I avoid using compressors and over using EQs for things that really do not need to be EQ'ed
  19. Yesssss this is sweet! the lead could use a bit of a high end boost (or excitement). Naw this track is dope, love it!
  20. Well its a sonic remix. I'm not going to skip commenting on this one hehe!! Its like a HD render/version of sonic 3(&knuckles) marble zone, I dig it XD -------- I feel that there is a room verb on the master or sent to almost every track in the mix and its quite low quality (or) and boxy imo. I feel that some sounds could be sharper and bassier; but that's honestly just me other than that I likes it!
  21. to hide the mechanical'ism of the strings, use verb (what they did in kingdom hearts, but they dont sound that mechy imo). as for the lead, I I wanna disagree and say its fitting. However, you need to use 2 kinds of verbs to make it site right; a plate and a hall (experiment). As for the break down part, I feel (or imo) you should add verbed white noise noise to it or a make or something so its not just a plain bass down pitch, tho it does sound fine to me, but that is just how I feel (imo). Ok I addressed comments here and there and I would like to say the mix needs work for ALL the sound. my opinion about the song is that it sounds like one of those epic rainbow 6 or call of duty menu screen soundtracks. In digging it, but practice and experiment with the mix.
