  1. Hand In Hand is the source Hand of The Protagonist is the meaning of the title. this is my first Dnb track http://soundcloud.com/aires/primas-manus-final-wip Ft Jabond Read Soundcloud comment, im currently done on this for now. I know the track i a bit loud, Im not lowering the compression, I will fix every thing when i can moniter better. I may be changing the samples tho cause they sound muddy as helll and are hard as a cow to compress
  2. true dat, but i feel the midi function is around the same with ableton, but what are the down falls of the midi system in protools?
  3. This is sweet, but i cant hear the last 20 seconds from my laptop, tone sound fine on my laptops speaker tho.
  4. Another thing i commonly see, are people stereo mixing bassline's and/or low frequency sounds, people stop doing that, and it robs space!
  5. These guys covered all that stuff! *but midi mixing is not bad in protools imo*
  6. Crap i forgot how to make the pluck bassline and i made it in my other tracks lol could anyone tell me how or atleast start me off so i can remeber
  7. good point now that you mention it i do hear some short demos with those kinda problems
  8. As the title says, alot of good songs especially the ones you hear in some games are 1-3 min long and they are sweet. Ok Some short songs need extension cause there awsome I understand that, but whats the deal with the negitivity:shock:
  9. and the only daw ''new kids'' in the music world know of, and im guessing thats what image-lines market was aimed at.
  10. Got to agree fl is kinda a fish in a pond, and alot of people hear really like it, but i do still prefer protools, cubase, and ableton. Its really down to what you like to do, i only use fl for loops and some effect vst but thats about it But then again, Avid makes there cash in there hardware marketing and forcing people to by a $3,000+ I/O for there best version of protools, well untill protools 9 i think you can use any interface, not sure about HD tho, but i do enjoy making some track in protools LE cause it feels more smooth, fast,I can find stuff, and recording instuments is smooth for me, almost like in Ableton, but there is sometimes some lathency in Ableton when i record live just try demos and see which one you like!
  11. if you mean the drums, the kick is a synth, which you cam get sampled from house/trance kits, the claps are from drum machines, the cymbals are real but from drum machines, so look around
  12. so for........... 9.8, sound lovly, so far the best mix i'v heard on oc in my opinion.
  13. Nice final! great sound, sine/saw bass is nice and you have more passage for the vocals! 8.9! (Note to all keeping up to my rating scale, im now switching to my Real rating system metric, so expect my score to be real.)
  14. Sweet, im glade people are picking stuff up from this thread, but guys keep the arguments low ;(
  15. I learned alot from you(some stuff I also heard from books too) and bit of everyone, and everyones opinions and facts are welcomed. But i did not expect this much commotion/crazyness in this thread also with the use of unscrupulous language, so please people Keep this thread friendly and clean.
  16. if the synth is giving a stereo signal, then the bus or mixer track the synth is in will contain a stereo sound, so phasing rules still will apply. the track bus it self is still a mono track but containning a stereo signal, so its will be a stereo sound you will hear same as hard panning in your daw, no sonic diffrence. not to be confused with panning tracks for the the "haas" trick with delaying one track within 5ms-25ms. so its still advised you work with that synth and effect unpanned to continue your work and after recording making your mixing easier, always worry about making you music sound pretty last and save it for post mixing/mastering.
  17. you master is the over all level of all your tracks, your tracks will always be in mono from the start.
  18. I agree with this as well to add panning when your done recording and get the ideas out then mix the tracks first in mono, because doing so while mixing will screw with your frequencys indeed and can cause post production problems, also worrying about mixing while your recording is not the best as well cause your not done recording, and your ideas are going to fly right out you! Some people who make tracks less then or equal to 2:00 have some great stuff.
  19. Well mixing rhythm guitar in stereo is one thing i will have to say, and panning sometimes drum samples like cymbals
  20. http://soundcloud.com/aires/primas-manus-wip wip 4 some sound changes and added stuff, this is 89% done, read sound cloud comment.
  21. that sounds more like bass, and the other that you hear kind of loud. Steinberg Virtual Guitarist I. And yes, picking DOES sound way less robotic. ------------------------------ Ahh i see, like in your second demo, boost that bassliney rhythm, reduce the lead guitar a bit. Brick wall? Is there a preset? How do you explain this? ------------------- brick wall is a type of limiting for tracks with fast attacks like this, there should be a preset for this in almost any digital compressor, which also can let you boost the track a BIT with out clipping the track I'm using a random soundfont for the violin with reverb and. My lead tone sounds odd? I'm using Guitar Rig 4 for the lead. [ Echolead ] I'm also using Guitar Rig 4 and TH-1 Overloud for the rhythm guitars.
