Yeah, just bought it, and I'm half way through. Excellent, excellent work, man. This is just such a professional-sounding album through and through. You've really given me something to aspire to.

When I'm being productive, not long. Maybe 10-15 hours? That may even be a couple of hours too long. I think generally, I tend to write fairly quickly, though, and I almost never repeat sections. It's easy to spend forever just dicking around not really getting anything done, though. That can add up.

Are we going to take a compo hiatus during week 3 which I assume will fall during MAG??? Because I can't really mix for the first 2 weeks (studying for national board licensure exam), then there's MAGFEST right after that. I think a lot of people will be busy that week. I know Darke postponed the competition during the Wily Gauntlet last year during MAGtimes.

I found that the most useful resource was looking at the demo projects that came with FL Studio and REALLY digging deep into them, learning how the producer did every single thing in the project, and then applying it to your own music. I went from having no idea how to write electronic music (although granted, I have sort of a background in music via piano lessons) to having written a reasonably respectable first track, all in 2 days, thanks to just looking at the techniques of others. It's really that high-yield of a learning method. Maybe start there.
