  1. Stealing is a strong accusation. It's not stealing unless you didn't acquire permission, i.e. from licensing via the HFA, for instance.
  2. This is excellent. Why hasn't anyone said anything? This is at once cinematic but not generically so. The fight sounds like it starts at 1:35, but everything else around it was leading up to it. This really conjures a "finale" atmosphere, like something that is certainly fit to be near the end of the album. Almost sounds cathartic at 3:55. Appropriate last track to the mixflood, because this is (deceptively?) great!
  3. Classes got canceled today for a severe windstorm. So I can get going on the ones I have now!
  4. Sounds great! When I first heard this in the Workshops, I agreed with Kristina that the lead was pretty meandering. Now I actually think that it is much less meandering (still a bit at 1:56 - 2:11, but not nearly as much) and instead evokes a feel of frantic dizziness.
  5. I don't think I quite get the same feel as in Spirited Away (probably because I never really watched that film in full as a kid, but I did see it play on Cartoon Network repeatedly---about as often as The Iron Giant, so it's probably good!), but I'm constantly impressed by Zack, so there's no surprise here; this is amazing! Nice and evolving dynamics; full use of the orchestra in their respective roles; evokes the feeling of both flying and a certain emotional tension, for me. Though I must admit, I checked out the theme song to Spirited Away, and for a moment, I thought I was playing this ReMix, but at 2:52, I realized that there was a YouTube lossiness to it... I checked and forgot that I was playing the Spirited Away theme song. So maybe they really are that similar!
  6. That's odd, because as I tested it, I got sound to come out. Did you try reopening FL and loading the sounds again? There have been a few times where a plugin just stops playing sound for me too. I'm using Windows 7.
  7. I like the slow-burn, gradual build this has. The break at 3:51 really invites introspection, contrasting well with the half-mourning, half-resolution atmosphere. This could work in a long funeral scene perhaps. Tough to write, but well worth listening to!
  8. Yet another ReMix that reaches far and gets far! I love that metallic tonal drum---it gives a meditative feel, which kind of lulls you into a suspended state before the rock gradually comes in. I personally thought the acoustic kit was fairly lacking in low end in the fuller parts, and maybe some more soul could have been put into the lead guitar (gimme some vibrah toe!). Still, this is really stand-out. Great job!
  9. Okay, now that I'm home, I've opened up sfz and yeah, I also don't see .sfz files in the FL browser. However, once you get sfz working, you can get around it by left-clicking the rectangle next to "File" and browse for it in the window that pops up, and then you would see .sfz, .sf2, .wav, and .ogg files as you browse via sfz.
  10. I actually took that quote as "it's better for someone to correctly say something smarter than usual than to pretend he/she knows more than he/she does."
  11. They probably have, but you can find it here (it's called sfz.zip): http://web.archive.org/web/20070715220351/http://www.rgcaudio.com/downloads/freeware/ Also, are you sure you put the SFZ files in the same place as the SF2 files are? Try locating the SF2 files within FL's browser, and then right clicking one of them and using the shell menu; you should be able to click something like, "Open file location". It should be in something like \FL Studio 11\Data\Patches\Soundfonts\.
  12. I can't remember if sforzando runs on FL 11 well (can't check right now), but sfz by Cakewalk (which is different) works on FL 11, last I checked. http://www.kvraudio.com/product/sfz-by-cakewalk
  13. I would try EDIROL Hypercanvas (similar sounds were used in FF Tactics, Suikoden II, etc). http://hyper-canvas-vst.software.informer.com/download/ (the MIDSCREEN green download button. The file is called vst_v160.zip) You can see it in action here:
  14. At the moment I'm not feeling particularly inspired by the tracks I've heard, but I'm always willing to collaborate.
  15. I'll be available if anyone needs: - mixing/mastering - dubstep/drum & bass/EDM drum programming - atmospheric and synth-lead sound design - rhythm/lead electric guitar - orchestral strings
  16. I was waiting for this to get on the site! I'm loving all the OCR Talkback vocal rips! The awesome distorted, crushed, ring-modulated solo is totally identifiable as Will at 1:48. It's a WillSoloTM.
  17. Yo man! Did you get my PM?

    1. Clem

      Clem

sup dude. ya i got it. ill finish that track soon

  18. I think it'd be interesting if you tried layering the gameplay near where your face is, rather than having a whole screen taken up (or vice versa, having your face on top of the gameplay).
  19. One more thing: Chernabogue's track features kroasta and Tuberz McGee. So maybe "Chernabogue feat. kroasta & Tuberz McGee". I find box.com to be an all-around good upload site. I use it all the time for audio, images, and text files.
  20. For sure! I really like Maxim Zhdanov's apocalyptic cinematic music. These are some of my favorite tracks from him: https://soundcloud.com/apeocalypsemusic/musterion https://soundcloud.com/apeocalypsemusic/xaoc https://soundcloud.com/apeocalypsemusic/equilibrium And Stephen Anderson writes some pretty crazy/emotional stuff, ranging from spirituals to LoTR-like film scores to huge dubstep. The first one below is probably my favorite, but the third one down is a close second. https://soundcloud.com/stephen-anderson/turn-my-crimson-into-white https://soundcloud.com/stephen-anderson/sephiroths-violin-01-liberi-fatali https://soundcloud.com/stephen-anderson/i-am-the-sentinel-credits
