  1. Good to see people submitting already, I hope there'll be no dropouts this round
  2. Wow, thanks for the extensive comments! I rarely mix guitars so I expected to make quite a few mistakes production-wise. I'll be making those changes asap. For the drums, I actually created my own kit from the samples I've collected over the years (I used the same setup but with a bit different processing for my mix in the SZRC). Glad to know I did a good job there
  3. Couple of minutes ago, I almost broke my nose while playing invisible drums to a song of mine
  4. Finished the rest of the track, link is in the first post. As before, any feedback is welcome
  5. Don't know how many of you are familiar with this game and ost, but I find it amazing, so I decided to remix it. I almost finished the 1st half of the song, planning to make this around 3 minutes long so I need to arrange the other half and record some more guitar parts. I'll also redo the drum sequencing as I'm not quite happy with the current one. If you wanna check the source, it's here: Feedback is welcome!
  6. Hey, my building was without internet so I hope I'm not late, I'll send my song right away.
  7. Got a 2:30 of the mix done, with the other minute-and-a-half planned out entirely in my head. That gives me some 60 percent completion I guess
  8. He probably meant that you should try lowering chorus depth or level, that should improve the way it sounds. This way it kinda stretches the sound too much.
  9. It's possible with Winamp's AVS but the process is a bit complicated (I'll assume you have Winamp already. If not, download it ) 1. Download Nullsoft SHOUTCast Source DSP Plugin (http://www.brothersoft.com/shoutcast-dsp-plug-in-for-winamp-123793.html), and install it. 2. Open Winamp, go to Preferences (ctrl+P), then Plug-ins, DSP/Effect and select the SHOUTCast Source DSP. It should automatically open a new window with some parameters. 3. Set input device to "Line In (Legacy Mode)". Some options should be available in the bottom section of the window now. 4. In the bottom section, set capture device to "Line In (Legacy Mode)", click on "Open Mixer" and select "Stereo Mix" for recording. 5. Close that window and the preferences one, and run Winamp's AVS visualization. 6. Click "Add" -> "Add URL", and type "linein://" in the box. Hit play and Winamp should now visualize everything that goes through your soundcard.
  10. Damn, and I thought me working 8 hours on my track was too much
  11. Thanks for the comments! Was a bit stuck in exams so I couldn't fix the problems right away, but it's all been taken care of. I've changed the snare and kick drum sample to some less piercing ones, and also lowered the volume and reverb on the crash. The main solo has been re-recorded again. I don't feel like experimenting with the song structure, since this is exactly what I had in mind - and after all, we see plenty of popular songs repeating same chords over and over Since this song is done and I'm pretty content with how it turned out, I'll also take this opportunity to bump this for a mod review.
  12. Updated! - Re-recorded the main solo - Changed the bassline a bit - Cleaned up the 2nd part of the song - Added a synth solo in the background during near the ending Feedback appreciated!
  13. With all respect to Sonic, I think I'll stick with Frog Awesome sigs though, I'll proudly wear mine during my victories and/or defeats at this tournament
  14. Nah, the most frustrating aspect of Football Manager is the fact that I can easily win the league with Bolton while I always end up last with Tottenham. Also, I always get sacked, no matter what I win or don't win.
  15. No challenge, no glory! I guess I'll give a listen to all the themes in my bracket to see what I can expect.
  16. "My name is KLOQDQ" I lolled xD Gonna watch it all when I find the time
  17. Songs like these always create a dilemma: On one side, it boosts my morale as a musician because whatever I make, I know it won't be that shitty On the other side, this piece of crap becomes famous, while there's plenty of masterpieces that nobody ever heard of... I'd repeat Level 99's "I don't wanna live on this planet anymore" but fortunately enough the planet redeems itself in other ways.
  18. I planned this as a contest entry for DoD last month, since the theme was "Jingle Month", but I got caught up with other stuff and didn't manage to finish it on time. The source is right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4a6DU8tTqs I'll try to break down source usage if for some reason you don't hear it 0:00 Original intro 0:18 Clean guitar solo plays the source (with minor variations) 0:36 Original stuff 0:54 Lead guitar plays the source (again, with minor variations) 1:11 During the electric guitar solo, clean guitar plays the source in the background 1:29 Lead guitar plays the source again 1:48 4 bars of the source interchange two times with 4 original bars 2:05 Rhythm guitar and piano play figures based on the source Feedback is appreciated, especially concerning production since this is one of my rare rock remixes. I plan to re-record the guitars so sorry for sloppy playing xD
  19. Hm, I have a question about my zone. I was curious as to where it plays in the game, since I've never played Sonic 3, and it looks like it's some sort of time trial stage. Does that still make it eligible? If not, then you can freely switch me to my 2nd pick (there aren't any conflicts with anyone regarding it). Sorry for noticing this just now...
  20. I remained the only person to pick something from Sonic 2006.
  21. Well they are practically the same riff Also, I'd like to be added to the kngi boards of the project, I left the message in the chatbox there a while ago but nobody reacted xD
