Are there any tricks to get a more legato feel out of non-legato samples? I'm using Garritan GPO4 and Logic's built in samples. Currently I'm drawing mod wheel data to control the attack's volume - giving me sort of a slur kind of feel as well as mixing it up with some portamento. Help?

Choose Rest In Peace, got the "arrangement" down, next is to humanize the performance. EXS24 is new to me and currently figuring out how to switch between the vibrato and non-vibrato samples midway through a note. Gah. Hope you all are having fun, learning loads from this

I actually wasn't going to work on this again, but I think I will as I have got quite a positive response from other musicians as well. Strings sounds like a good idea! I think my understanding of music increased greatly after I started studying theory... this is the book that really gelled with me, and now I'm moving onto another book that is more in-depth. Took me about 3 months to finish the above, working it through lunch breaks etc BTW piano lessons are awesome. I started them about the same time I did the theory book, can't say I can play the piano, but it has helped alot with figuring out harmony as well as picking up new ideas from other genres in the piano books.

I think this is mostly inspired by the music from Wolf's Rain and Record of Lodoss War Forgive me I am really new to EWQLSO - when you say use different flutes, do you mean loading up several play instances of the different flute patches, then send the midi data to each of them depending on the performance I need? I did try the master instrument but don't know how to control it properly (I need to rtfm ) Cheers!

The first error is licensing - I got that as well when I didn't install the Silver License, but you already got it so no idea I got the 2nd error when installing EWQLSO (Gold + both mics) - and I'm on a macbook, snow leopard. Basically, I'm installing the samples to an external drive, but sadly the install misplaced the directory structure (How is that possible?!), instead of installing /Play Libraries/EWQL Orchestra Library/Gold Instruments /Play Libraries/EWQL Orchestra Library/Gold Samples /Play Libraries/EWQL Orchestra Library/Silver Samples I got /Play Libraries/EWQL Orchestra Library/Gold Instruments /Gold Samples /Silver Samples Once I copied them into place, all the wav errors went away. HTHs! The thread that helped me out was #16 from the forums. So my installation process went Install Play Update Install EWQLSO Move directories to correct path Install Mics (surround/close) Install SO updates (two of them) Install Play Update again Note that my iLok drivers etc were already installed. Hopefully this may help you or someone else. All the best!

Hey all, I finished another simple piece, focusing on harmony as well as just focusing on 3 elements for easier mixing (drums, keys, sax). I'm looking for feedback for the mix - its ok on my headphones (sigh) but on my laptop speakers I think the piano may be too loud?
