  1. I want to +1 on the recommendation for AKG K240 MKIIs.... very nice phones for the price I think. I only have my SR80s to compare with, very different sound signature. I though the AKGs were very balanced, compared to the grados that were over the top detailed. Would love to try some DT880s down the road Driven by my laptop output they're quite good, and really shine when driven by my audio interface.
  2. The old pages are archived on archive.org, at least the first two Groovy Drums Working with real instruments
  3. Haven't played SF in years - quite a treat to hear this nice mellow version
  4. With the Trinity Dragon, the main song seems to be at a much softer volume, it seems to be trying to break the surface of the background. Otherwise, I do think it is a lovely attempt at improvising greenhill zone!
  5. My favourite transfomers movie is still the old animated transformers, where optimus prime properly died, yeah! That said, I watched all 3 of the new ones, not too hot for the first two, the 3rd I thought felt really good. Not much for story, more of a michael bay vfx funfest and the pacing was good.
  6. Hope to make the life performance next time. This is just awesome!
  7. I think it sounds good! One thing that threw me off is the intro, or lack of - got confused when I went into the song seemingly midway without any intro.
  8. @mickomoo: I am learning the alto as my main instrument Have a soprano as well. Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely be focusing on the instrument and theory for now. Will be offline till the weekend, thanks for all the advice so far
  9. Thanks AngleCO, I'll keep that in mind. Bought "The AB Guide To Music Theory" today, and finished my first transcription ever (Casino night zone, Sonic 2)
  10. @Rozovian: I just finished reading your remixing guide, will need to go over it again tomorrow. That's alot of info to work on, and thanks again for taking the time to write it all down
  11. Hello all! @dannthr - Got a lesson with my teacher tomorrow, I'll be sure to ask these questions @LulzA - making covers and trying to emulate the originals: Sounds like a good idea Hoping to transcribe a KOF98 tune atm - bit annoying to do in the evenings thanks to the volume @Rozovian - Yes! That's it. Probably only the sax(es) will be recorded, rest of it I hope to do via computer I'm going through your remixing guide now, many thanks for taking the time Thanks remixers
  12. Hi everyone! I am newbie saxophonist looking for the kind of skills to develop in order to compose arrangements (I hope i have got the terms right!)? For example, one of my favourite saxophonist, muta1206 on youtube, has fantastic backing tracks and arrangements with the saxophone as the primary instrument. E.g. Currently, I am studying the saxophone with a teacher, and I would like to know what kind of areas I need to learn in order to do such arrangements. I found this book on amazon, would learning how to compose be the right way forward? My main computer is a laptop running linux, and I have been playing around with Rosegarden. Hopefully down the line I would like to acquire an osx machine to do arrangements with - not a fan of windows Thank you! GW
  13. Long time fan finally signing up! My favourite mixes are probably by Reuben Kee (may he rest in peace) - many others but can't remember the names of the artists. Recently, I have been learning the saxophone (alto seriously, soprano for fun), about 8 months in. I hope to someday arrange my favourite game music and songs with my new skill I'm currently living and working in London, UK, would love to jam with like minded musicians if there are any about here.
