  1. Well, if there was such a list, I'd go check it out. doesn't sound Like an impossibility, even just for curiosity's sake.
  2. Heh, I can see oa's ilp0 reference. Creative, versatile yet cohesive. I liked this one already when I first saw the trailer. Keep on truckin' bg.
  3. yo, did you get my second pm? Just making sure it hasn't fallen through the cracks or something. At least I haven't received a response to it yet. Cya!

  4. I love the way you lie.. Or maybe it's the way you say it. Like an old bitter hermit. Which you are.
  5. Isn't that obvious by now that I'm the most famous? Okay, maybe not yet, but just you wait.

I'm eagerly waiting for your judgement on my butt. In another words, your response to my top secret samples;)

  6. Those samples were supposed to be top secret, and now you go and mention them on my visitor page which averages 3,6k visitors a day? Typical. Naughty brandon, naughty!

  7. Howdy Ciredn and... Linkandzelda? Surprising that you're remixing pokemon instead of zelda So you're both into remixing, eh? Try the workshop system as the first step to being and OCR artist one day! We also have competitions like "Remixing with the stars", in which unposted mixers get a posted artist to help them out with things they're having issues with. Anyhow, welcome and enjoy your stay.
  8. Darn, forgot to vote. I was so hyped for this compo!! Personally, I'm not a fan of the points being shown, but naturally that's up to the contestants to decide if it's distracting or not. Everyone did a great job, and I encourage you to continue remixing. Novices exceeded my expectations, keep at it!
  9. Turn this into a ghost story thread! Getting spooky already
  10. urdailywater, at least in the link below I hear a xylophone. Not sure if there's different kinds of xylophones but basically that's what it sounds like. In the link above, it might just be a modified xylophone sound with lots of pre-delay or delay and some weird effects on it. Not sure about that though. Xylophone is a pretty basic sound to be found in sample libraries, for example, kontakt. Many orchestral libraries include xylophone as well.
  11. I wasn't stating my opinion there, and I agree with you. But as DjMystix said a while back, at the end of the day this is a competition even though the focus of the participants is learning. Haven't even voted yet, and already looking forwards to future episodes!
  12. Simply put, my favorite rock mix on the site. 2 veteran artists teaming up to remix a definitive 90's video game theme? A match made in heaven.
  13. I was under the impression that it was the other way around, at least from what I've gathered from this thread. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it seemed like the result was top priority, and not the process of a novice learning something, because you can't really determine or control "learning".
  14. Just checked out the preview, and wow- I got nothin to say but ROCK 'N' ROLL BABY!! This gonna be some sweet lovin'. Also loved the jazz/groove styled songs near the end. Kyle, get on their asses to get this done.
  15. Many think that it's not a limitation, but a convenience, to use the same daw as your partner, and not having the same daw is a limitation. At least some people stated that earlier in this thread.
  16. Me likes Otakatt's style. Very nice!
  17. Wow, guys! I'm actually stunned about how good the entries are. I mean, given the relatively short time available and the fact that they were supposed to be novices, I think the arrangements really are and work great. Above and beyond my expectations. And SuperiorX, at least I think your artwork looks good considering you did it so quickly. I'd really suggest, for future episodes, using artwork for at least promotion purposes. It's easier to get people's attention that way and make the competition seem a bit more pro. Oh yeah Furthermore, I'd like to hear something from the stars' side as well. I like reading the stories behind songs... By the next episode, time zones should really be taken into account when deciding partners. Should make co-operation much more fluent and effortless.
  18. Great idea, great competition and great expectations. I think you really need to continue this, it's like one of the coolest things ever to get stars help out beginners on their feet with remixing. I'm sure this will grow more popular by the time of the next episode.
  19. Why haven't I seen this before. Countless nostalgic tracks from my favorite childhood PC games still echo inside me, and they NEED to be done justice in OCR, props to Archangel for starting this thing!! Only problem is.. There are way too few tracks on there! Is it too late to chime in on this project or what? What's the situation, Archangel? I wanna hav moar pc music on there:ocrgreen:
  20. Hey, this sounds good. I mean, Final Fantasies 4, 7 and 1 are already done, and Fantasies 2, 5, 6 and 9 are being worked on at this very moment. So basically, how I understand it, we're running out of unremixed Fantasies fairly quickly, so it would be a great idea to give as many people as possible a chance to contribute to the upcoming FF projects.
  21. Writing, composing and the process itself never scares me; I love the music that I do and enjoy putting a song together.. until the end and you'd have to finish said song and actually make it sound professional. It's the completion of a song that scares me because of many reasons. I never feel like "Now it's there, I should change nothing anymore".
  22. Yea this certainly needs to be done with more games, at least the most remixed ones. It's a simple idea, yet I've never come to think of this. Keep at it!
  23. Hardly. For example, DKC3 album is ahead of us,(music finished) and even they aren't sure if they're gonna get a 2012 release. And this is definitely behind DKC3 in the release queue. But there's always hope, right?
  24. Oh yes. This was one of the first FFVI remixes I fell in love with many years ago. I never paid attention to how old this actually was, and it surprised me when I saw the posting date. Sure, the drums sounded a little weak and the solo never worked for me, but the beauty in the from of trumpets, guitar and piano made up for it by a hundred miles... The arrangement is just perfect. This is an OCR classic for me, and listening to it still gets me emotionally invested like so many years ago.
