  1. Cheers! I think i'm gonna change/adjust some little things here n' there and then probably put it up for mod review. Edit: Added more lows on the piano
  2. Made some progress https://app.box.com/s/pdxy7bnp68gy79v1zudjjwpkesm6b86c Added one more C section and an outro groove. I think the arrangement is near completion, just have to find a proper ending. EDIT: Arrangement is finished! I added a short organ solo and an ending. I dunno, maybe the bassline at 3:20 is a bit too much, ha ha. New version: https://app.box.com/s/0nrnjgj394t9h477lpkgq4664wp1qbh3
  3. Ok, i'll try to use the fast rotor setting a bit more. I'm glad you like the bass solo Thanks for the feedback guys!
  4. Update! https://app.box.com/s/40l7fd5fliawuq1cjq4b2f6xgtj6gdym Changes: - Adjusted the drawbar settings of the organ - Increased the dynamic range of the piano and softened the tone a bit - More varied bassline - Added a bass solo and another B section
  5. Hey man, thanks again for helping me with this one! Alright, but don't expect me to yodel!
  6. I used The Giant from the kontakt library. As for weird time signatures; i once wrote a mix in 9/8 to 3/4 to 5/4 back to 9/8 and also with a part that has a 4/4 superimposed on 9/8.
  7. Thanks guys! The piano doesn't sound that bad to me actually. Anyways, i think i could tweak the sound a bit or use another sample, i just don't have that many alternatives in that regard. @ timaeus: Sorry for being a spoiler but i think i want to work again on that bass part myself, aight?
  8. Thanks for the feedback man! Ok, i'll try to vary the bassline some more, although i don't want the bass to be overly active. I agree about the dynamics, i'll see what can be done. Regarding the organ; yeah, it's a jazz organ plugin with a B3 simulation. I'll try some different drawbar settings.
  9. I always wanted to remix Dark World from lttp, and i always thought that it would fit into a 7/8 rhythm (and i was right). Not finished yet, but here's what i've got so far. Remix: https://app.box.com/s/qmjsrz4t86go1xrkaj7hw662iflng5ng Source: http://youtu.be/fde_HaMXCo8 Definitely a more faithful approach, do you agree?
  10. Thanks for the detailed source breakdown, i would say it's pretty accurate. 2:28 - 2:38 is actually just a transition to the Eb major part at 2:40, but it has some slight resemblance of the melody, although unintended.
  11. I actually wasn't aware of how liberal my remix sounds to people. For me the source is pretty clear and not subtle, but of course i'm biased because i wrote the arrangement. For example the bassline is (almost) the same as in the original and also all the melody parts are there. However, i think i can see why some people might have trouble to recognize the source, i really changed pretty much everything (tempo, time signature, chords) and i just realized that i accidentally changed some of the melody notes (i always play songs by ear/memory). Well yeah, i really like to reharmonize songs, for me that's one of the most exciting parts of remixing.
  12. Thanks very much for the mod review Gario and also thanks for your feedback timaeus! Yeah, the piano is a bit dry, i'll see what i can do.
  13. Thanks for the kind words guys! Well, i have a "confession" to make, this wasn't a 100% live performance. I actually played everything but used editing to eliminate some mistakes and sloppiness etc. However, i am capable of playing a live performance which i did in "A Royal appearance".
  14. Here is the current version for mod review: http://tindeck.com/listen/qpvsd Thanks in advance!
  15. Yeah, very skillful piano playing and excellent arrangement. Thumbs up man!
  16. Here is my new solopiano piece https://soundcloud.com/karmus24/on-a-cloud-of-sound It's actually finished but maybe i want to change some little things. Thanks for listening and i hope you enjoy it! Edit: It's finished! I replaced the link with a new one.
  17. Good stuff. Actually, I didn't know Sonny until someone gave me the Cool Struttin' album.
  18. I somehow missed to post in this thread Well anyway, here's some Hardbop for ya http://youtu.be/wIiPyhQNSyg I love the trumpet solo (3:06), i used to sing it along with the recording.
  19. Updated version: http://tindeck.com/listen/kqyqb I changed a few minor things and added some more variation overall. Feedback is appreciated, especially on production. Thanks Emunator for listening/commenting.
  20. Ok, so now the arrangement is complete. http://tindeck.com/listen/inac Feedback welcome, thanks!
  21. I admire people who can pull off orchestral music like this. I could totally imagine this playing in a movie. Nice Work!
  22. Hi everyone! I'm currently working on a jazz remix of the shadowman theme. Here is what i've got so far (still unfinished). I'm not so sure about the transition at 1:32. Btw, my very first remix was also shadowman and i would say this probably sounds a little bit better than the first one (i hope) Source: http://youtu.be/OAwZS6Ksw0Q Remix: http://tindeck.com/listen/bwhj -Markus
  23. Thank you Deedubs! Chrono Trigger was actually the main inspiration for this track . I agree about the dynamics of the lead instrument (it's an english horn btw), i'll see what can be done, maybe i'll use another sample. The bass is a sample. It's the Jazz upright bass from the Kontakt factory library.
