  1. oh noo completely forgot to vote D: anyway nice round and pretty awesome entries
  2. haha, I am not goomba, Im Gercr. and well, I think the tempo felt a little off, maybe because the percussion is too high on the mix. the part I feel is more weird is 2:57. anyway thats just what I heard, I could be wrong. and indeed, the bassline is a little too buried for my taste, it should carry the song, not the other way around. you should try to mix leaving some space so that the bass can be more appreciated. (in the whole song not just little parts of it) thats just my two cents, Im no expert in anything so is my just perception as a listener.
  3. Hi there, nice idea. I dont mean to be rude. Is better "El gran manantial de Salsa" or just "Gran manantial de Salsa" Now for the song, I like the idea, but I think the piano should be more important in the song, and the percussion (along with other instruments) sometimes sounds a little off tempo. Also theres something that is lacking on this song and is usually really important in this kind of genres: the bass, I think it it should be a really important part of the track.
  4. the youtube, and the midi link are the ones for the past compo (x men)
  5. I was thinking of entering this time, but seeing as there is a lack of stars I think I will have to pass...
  6. For the one who asked, yep thats my whistling (where are my extra points hehe). It was really a last minute idea (20 minutes before the deadline), so i didnt have the time to mix the whistling properly and to make it fit in the mix like I wanted (granted I dont think it was that awful either), also there are two whistling voices at the same time because just one sounded a little simple, so I ended up using the best two takes (of like five), hehe. I think I will give it another try some other day, if the source seems fit for it. Im kind of glad I didnt end up using the guitar, because whistling was really fun.
  7. Thats amazing mike!!! best of luck to you.
  8. oh right ! the info, I forgot. I will send it to you later
  9. Killer studio chops ! I didnt knew the joke either, it was a blast reading the post.... I will try to signup as a novice for the next compo, I wanted to enter last time, but I was really busy with other stuff.
  10. I know... but I didnt win, I just submit the source, and actually Im still working on something (which means I didnt start early or something like that)
  11. I was the one who submitted the source, but can I submit an entry?
  12. Im working on something, but I think I will need the extension
  13. I appreciate the reply Nutritious, I always like to read about how other people work. also, why is no one voting? just two votes in, and on the last day !
  14. Hey guys, nice round, here´s a quick review Mystic Shovel: great vibe, kind of like some bard or trobadour song. I really like the instruments, is a great adaptation of a one of the more relaxing songs of the soundtrack. I would love to hear more instruments to make the overall sound more full, maybe a some percussion. Swingin' with Cats: awesome acoustic guitar, the silence in the intro really trew me away at first, but I think it works nice with the song as a whole. I have to say, that bass is amazing, the song is really good. I would like for the lead guitar sound to be more aggresive, also I love the way that organ sounds. Intercept: Wow, the production in this is amazing, I am impressed, If you dont mind me asking, could you make a quick run in your mastering process? Well I love this song, I actually dont like that much the original, but this arrangement is just too good. I like the guitar tones and the mix. Also the lead synth with the guitar work really well, there is an amazing synergy between the two instruments. So far this contest has had some really great songs...
  15. 1. Nutritious 2. Cyril the Wolf 3. TheShaggyFreak
  16. It was supposed to say King* not Kng. appologies if it was my mistake. When I was checking the shovel knight OST I found that song (dance macabre, Lich yard) and I absolutely loved it. later I had the idea to do a little narration and that episode of adventure time came to my mind . Since they both were "lich" related I thought it was fitting. here it is the youtube vid of the speech I altered the words a little and also sorry if the pronunciation is a little weird, English is obviously not my native language
  17. You could safely say 4 out of 4 hehe, everything you guys said I feel the same, the source was more complex than I expected, and I tried too many new and different things. (that Im not used to) I was happy with the some things, especcially in the mix stage, but in the master I think I didnt do that well. Im eager to hear the other songs in the round
  18. 1. Supercoolmike 2. Gario 3. Hylian Lemon
