Too bad London is farther away than I'm ever going to travel to buy a gameboy cartridge...

Nope. I'm sure if they did, everyone would try to use as much bandwidth as they could until they hit the limit. By keeping us in the dark about it, they can make us use much less bandwidth than we're actually allowed to, from fear of exceeding our limit. Ahaha POWER!!!

Yeah, I'm using the university's internet connection.

Cool, looks just like what I was looking for. Danke!

So... I just moved to an apartment that has a download limit. I need some kind of app to monitors my internet traffic and counts how much of my quota I use up. Is there a good, free one out there? I tried a few I found but they either didn't work or looked really suspicious. Suggestions?

From what I remember, yes, the public transportation is good, but it doesn't cross the Golden Gate bridge. There are busses on the north side as well, though, but you have to get across the bridge somehow. Oh, but you could go by ferry.

Bring a good jacket. SF is cold. I rented a bike and went 35 miles in 3 hours just to get to Muir Woods. Then I spent 1 hour there before I had to go back another 35 miles in another 3 hours to return the bike before the shop closed for the day. I'm not sure it was worth it. You should see Sausalito though, it's a very pretty little town.

We can't really do much right now (other than update bios when remixes from previously uncovered games are added to the site), it's really up to teh Pretzel. I have no idea how far he's come with implementing clickability, and he's kinda hard to get a hold of. Considering that he has 0 posts in this thread, this functionality is probably not at the top of his prio list (even though Liontamer probably tells him all he needs to know about us, DJP is still the guy who has to write the new code).

Donkey Kong Country 2: Serious Monkey Business - History
Dafydd replied to Geoffrey Taucer's topic in Projects
Parts of this deserve to go into someone's sig. -
You know, if you added the date each song was posted to the info you already have, one could make some really cool graphs showing how the number of remixes, games, and remixers has grown over time since day one. I think that would be really cool.

Oh. Ok, well, I guess it's worth a shot...

Uh... I didn't see that. I wonder what I need to tell them to get my money back though. I don't suppose "I didn't like it" will do.

The R-zone seems to be a console of its own rather than something you can hook up to a PC. That's not really fair - at one inch's distance, you can't see very much of your screen, you get way too much light in your eyes, and you see most of the screen from a very weird angle rather than from straight ahead. I can't even focus on something that close.

So, I searched this forum for this but didn't get any hits, so I'm starting a thread about it (though who knows how long it'll live). If there is one already, kindly redirect me and close this one. The Vuzix iWear (here's a page about the VR version) is like a pair virtual reality goggles (or something like that). More importanly (I think), they're like a portable, low-res monitor. I have no idea how I'm supposed to get my hands on one of these without actually buying a pair (and I'd really hate to buy something for 350 bucks when I don't even know if I want it), so I was hoping maybe one of you guys had tried one. So... anyone? Apparently, they come in two versions (basically), one which is just a monitor used to watch movies played on a portable or non-portable media player, while the other is a vr helmet reduced to a pair of glasses, responsive to your heads movements and stuff. Right. So, if you've tried one of these, either watching movies or playing games, either passively watching or actively controlling something by turning your head, please tell me what you thought about it. I'd really like to see for myself, but like I said, I wouldn't know where to find a pair without actually having to buy the damned thing first. I've heard a lot of bad things about VR goggles, ranging from causing motion sickness or other such things, to just being plain boring. If this is any better, I'd like to know.

OCR00523 - Mega Man "Circuit Breaker"
Dafydd replied to orkybash's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This randomly came up on my winamp. I used to listen to this a lot when I first came to OCR, and the intro is just as good as I remembered it to be. I wish Injury would start remixing again. -
What about video cards with a vivi feature? Maybe that's something else entirely.

Looks like I haven't been here in too long. So the 32x32 limit is gone now? I didn't find either of the giants you talked about, Polo, but I noticed the Super Metroid samus in there (42 pixels tall). LT: It's my discretion, so, no, I don't plan on doing larger images often. I love the 32x32 size restriction and plan to keep with it in the major majority of cases. Understood. I didn't think there were any exceptions, that's all. That means the Decap Attack dude (as well as several others) could be added (at your discretion, as always). At least now I know posting an avatar larger than 32x32 does not mean a 0% chance of acceptance without cropping. If it wasn't for the fact that I'm leaving for a while now you'd be seeing some big ones in this thread pronto, but now that's going to have to wait until August.

And by actually doing the remix you said you would do, you wouldn't have to listen to all that nonsensical rubbish. They would have nothing on you.
-
I see what you mean now. Yeah, the melodies will need to be varied a little.
-
Ok. I actually thought this covered up the soundscape a lot better than most of my previous works. So you want even more instruments playing the same notes or do you want whishy-whooshy sound effects to fill up the empty space? Or more reverb?
-
You hit your head on on the nail, this is a rock remix without guitar or vocals. Haven't gotten around to that yet. And yeah, it's a pretty straight cover so far. I'm not sure I understand the "not much going on in terms of sound" comment - do you really mean the sound or do you mean the arrangement? However, "more sophisticated instrumentation than the sine/triangle bass" is what you get after the drums and the guitars and the piano comes in. Agreed, they play the exact same notes the whole way through, but the instrumentation does become more sophisticated. Did you hear the whole thing?

Threw something together this morning while procrastinating the baking of cakes for tonight's party. It's my birthday today, so if you only have bad things to say, save it until tomorrow! www.ngst.nu/ninjagaiden.mp3 It's track 13 in the nsf (Devlilish Influence in the NSFE).
