  1. I know I saved a backup of the first post somewhere, but I seem to have lost it... EDIT: Polo, you are my secretary and nanny. I found a file with the guidelines that you'd uploaded back on page 70. Now I just need to find the original first post quote... EDIT 2: I found my backup. Apparently, searching for all files on C: includes anything in "My Documents" but nothing in any folders on the desktop. Weird... I'm pretty happy with the main page now. I probably need to edit some stuff, but overall, do you think there's anything missing? Or are there any errors you'd like to point out?
  2. I'll order them by name. Thanks for listing them for me.
  3. Would it be a good idea to have a page on the wiki listing all the writers, and perhaps, though probably not, even give each writer a page listing all of that writer's articles? I feel it would be nice to at least list the writers, but maybe that can be done on the main page... it just feels wrong to say "thanks to the 16 writers" without saying who they are.
  4. If it hadn't been for this site, I might actually have a real life. But probably not.
  5. Funny... That guitar there sounds horribly fake. Voice overs are fun though. I like how you've turned this theme into something that would fit into the Perfect Dark soundtrack.
  6. Do the guy who throws a ball of string while you're at it! I think he's on Snakeman's level... Also, did you know Mega Man's face is actually an individual sprite pasted on top of the rest of his head? True! Well, in the NES version anyway.
  7. You go ahead and do that, and I'll reconsider and reconsider starting this thing again.
  8. What's her name again?
  9. You could just complain about the lyrics themselves and not the fact that the song has lyrics. Lyrics aren't always bad. Also, this song would be pretty boring without them, since the whole thing is pretty vocal-oriented. Do you want to take out the vocals, or just the lyrics? Would you prefer humming?
  10. EDIT: Sorry about that, I just realized Dreamhost is even cheaper than what I suggested. Sorry, sorry. Though I don't see anything at dreamhost or aplus that could add up to $24 a month - they're all much less or much more. As for the mascots, yes, a lot of the data is in there. I have a few tweaks to carry out but what we're really waiting for is the code that gets you to a certain page of the wiki when clicking on a mascot. If that can be implemented before this summer, I'd be grateful. I really wanna wrap the project up. Sorry for bogging down the thread with semi-personal questions like this but you don't seem like the type who has the time to read his PM's.
  11. What are the hosting costs, roughly? And what's the total traffic amount every month? I'm just curious. Also, mascot clickability. When? This summer, next year?
  12. I don't think we're talking about the same song, are we? I thought you meant the little 5-second jingle that plays before protoman appears in, say, mega man 3. What track is it in the NSF? EDIT: Ok, my bad. I didn't realize the song kept going after those 5 first seconds. It would sound pretty good as a guitar / flute combo. Or something.
  13. Haha, awesome! I would have liked the drums to play on the toms a little more, and the snare sounded a little weak for my taste, but the arrangement is really nice and so is the performance. The outro is wonderful.
  14. Why nahhhhhh? Because it's already been done in Somari? The project could ask the question: "what if the guy who made the music for Somari hadn't been a complete moron?". Sonic doesn't really have any less material than SMW though so it wouldn't really be a better choice.
  15. The "real name" field seems to be off by one pixel. Happens both in IE7 and FF2. See how the text on the real name row doesn't line up with the rest? This should be at the top of your priority list to fix. Not. I still though I should point it out, because it bothers me.
  16. Well, he turned the game's big selling points against it. This review would make the designers cry in their mother's lap. It's like reviewing this song and saying "yeah, great song, but your drum programming really really sucks" in a funny and sarcastic way and be more or less serious about it. Bring up the stuff that the creator spent the most time making and likely the most proud of, rip it apart, and the shreds will tear down whatever's still left with it as it falls. You know how magazines usually have a few pages of pictures of celebrities in their new outfits and then they rate them, like "this week's worst/best outfit", and you usually can't tell the difference between how they dress? If someone gets a really expensive outfit and is proud of it, you're expected to say "my, what a lovely dress!" even if you think it's horrible just because you know how much it means to that person that everyone thinks her dress is nice, and if you speak your mind and say it's horrible, then that person is going to cry, regardless of whether she deserved it or not.
  17. His voice could be funnier but he brings up some good points. I'd prefer to see Lev deliver the speech Too bad he hasn't played any of that games I have. I'll be watching some more of these though. I hope he'll play Medieval 2 Total War... that game really deserves to be bashed to bits. EDIT: Haha, excellent work ripping bioshock to pieces. I like this stuff so much more than positive reviews. Nothing will ever improve without critisism. I'll go play Mega Man 3 now.
  18. That's an interesting picture of Larry.
  19. I'd make a very poor judge. If I haven't played a game or never heard its soundtrack I'm not going to be interested in the mix. But if I do listen to it, and like it, I'm likely to check both the soundtrack and the game out. Though if I have played it and I think the remixer has mixed it "wrong", I will likely dislike the mix simply because it has a different baseline or plays the chords in the wrong key at some point. I wonder if the judges are affected like this and if they're aware that they are, if they are.
  20. I'm downloading this at 14kB/s. Can't wait to hear it. Almost litterally. Torrent link didn't work. EDIT: Well, it was well worth the download. Good stuff
  21. Yeah, that game could use some more love.
  22. There's a number of remixes that have the little thing in them, but trying to make a whole 3 minute song from that little wistle would be really hard.
  23. Yeah, I realize that now. I recently read up on the differences between the famicom and the nes, and that's what I learned then. Well, all the better. Now people can use famitracker without feeling like they're missing out on something. Anyway, I'm thinking I should start out with something smaller, this game doesn't really have that many tracks and most of them are short, but I'd rather try something with 5 or so tracks and see how that goes first. Suggestions? Preferrably a SNES or MegaDrive game.
