  1. I don't really understand. Spambots registered on the forum? When I signed up, I needed to be granted access manually by the forum admin. Did the spambots bypass that somehow?
  2. Talk about luck, they just put it up again. Got one. Let's hope it rocks. It's the most expensive thing I've bought in years.
  3. Ugh, international phone calls? Does the package still come at the same price? And how do I pay them if I order over the phone? Sorry for being a noob, I just haven't done this type of thing before.
  4. Well damn, the "item has ended". They don't have that package anymore. Crap.
  5. Well... that's what the location thingy is for Doesn't matter though, I'll never find the same deal anywhere on this side of the planet (even including s&h), and unless dad finds something I'm getting the package you suggested, so thanks for telling me.
  6. I love it! Should have been longer though. I can't find any info on this band anywhere except for this one song...
  7. Sheesh, $60 S&H... that's $190 for the whole thing. Really nice deal for the package if it wasn't for the shipping. I wonder if I could find the same thing for less anywhere in Europe. I could wait and see if the dollar drops even lower... EDIT: Wow, just the mic and a shock mount alone is over $200 here. And that's without the pop filter, the cable, the boom stand and SONAR. If dad doesn't have any luck over in Chinaland I think I'll get one. How long can the USB cable be? I mean, if you use an extension, so the cable's like 15 feet long, does the thing still work?
  8. The intro sounded like warcraft II... haha Interesting piece of music, this. Sounds very good, too.
  9. Cool. What's the difference between this one and the C03U or the Q1U? My dad's going to Hong Kong tomorrow, I was hoping he could pick one up there (the C01U is roughly $140 where I live, the C03U a little more and the Q1U a bit less). Do you need a pop screen? I noticed after recording with my current mic that it stopped working, I opened it and it was wet inside. I'd only been using it for a few minutes. Are dynamic mics better at handling that?
  10. Haha Great beatburp (/boxburp?). Yeah, this is sounding nice, and it seems very handy to just plug it into the USB port... did you need isolation of any kind, I mean, does it pick up a lot of stuff from around you, do you need a very silent environment? Do you have a very silent computer when recording this? I'm just curious.
  11. Lol. How odd. Can't help you there, sorry. EDIT: Maybe this could be of interest... http://ask.metafilter.com/31958/How-to-deal-with-file-names-that-are-too-long
  12. Cool. It's not even expensive. I might get one. Would either of you record something for me, anything at all, just an MP3 with a few seconds of speech, no post-processing, just so I can hear what it sounds like?
  13. Has anyone ever used one? What are they like? Do you need pre-amps to use them, can the volume be boosted without lots of noise being added, is there latency to worry about, basically, is there anything wrong with a good one except for the fact that you can't plug it into anything else than a computer? If I don't have a pre-amp, and there's a pretty good mic that comes in USB and regular editions for the same price, would I be better off buying the USB edition the regular one?
  14. Before you kill it though, try some more reverb.
  15. Hehe, this actually reminds me a lot of the old Zelda 3 mix you made, and unless I'm mistaken, this is the same flute sound. Sounds very eastern, too.
  16. I wouldn't worry about it, it's still pretty obvious where this mix is coming from, at least to anyone familiar with the source.
  17. Of course you do. Donate as much as you want. What I wanted to say was, more people should donate, and if you want to donate $100, that's really up to you, but even $5 helps.
  18. The piano is much better now. I like the Italian-ish feel this song has with the tremolo strings and the general rhythm. At the very middle of the song, where the bass is playing alternating notes (C, G, C, G, except in a different key) and the strings hit the off-beats, I could kill to hear a mandolin or some other guitar like instrument there, just playing the same thing as the strings do there, it would fit so perfectly. The piano solo at about 3/4 of the song's length feels pretty unrealistic, maybe it should have more velocity there but less volume to compensate, and maybe some more reverb. Anyway, I'm liking the general style, and it will be interesting to see where this is going. I still think you should throw in a mandolin or something in the more up-beat parts. If you finish this and polish it a bit I think this should have a fair chance to pass the panel, because the arrangement is very nice.
  19. Yeah... but... you already did, like, 2 weeks ago, so now you've paid $200 in like a month.
  20. I got 9449 SEK back on my taxes. skatteverket... Anyway, I don't feel like it's anyone's responsibility to pay OCR $200, more people should donate but less.
  21. How much does clicking the google ads actually help the site? Does Google know how often the links are clicked and pay OCR accordingly, or how does all that work? In other words, would I help the site by regularily clicking on google ads, even those I'm not actually interested in? And if everyone did that, would it make a huge difference for the site's economic situation or not?
  22. Oh, yes, I did misunderstand you. I've been in plenty of projects myself where there are too many people wanting to help out, making it impossible administrate, especially since people who have undertaken certain, important tasks go awol and never return despite saying they will, and this is a situation I certainly don't want to see happening with this game, because I think it'll turn out great if it's just allowed to be completed. Anyway, no harm done, but thanks for clarifying.
  23. Which is why I just said that - I feel excluded. And that's fine, really, I had something different in mind than what you're making, something more like what I suggested back on page 14. I thought I was "in" from the very beginning, but that was before the Wingless made his flash thingy (which was after I made my thingy on page 15) and it started to seem like my posts were being ignored. I just didn't know of any better place to post ideas for an OCR-tan game than in this very thread. I know I must sound like I'm hurt and sore, but I'm not, I just misunderstood things - I thought I was in, but wasn't. Now, I can't wait to see your finished product, and will leave you to this. With you and the others as artists, I don't see how this could possibly go wrong. Good luck!
