This was entertaining. Interesting mental image - something between Mario Kart and How High. LOL

I get why you liked the soundscape, but I'm with S4L on this. You have such definition and clarity with the rap compared to the rest of the soundscape that the background and beats seem more muffled than they should, IMO. Some clearer kick and snare or at least a bit more boominess with the percussion you have here would really help the soundscape back up the 'power' of the rap.

I like your idea of letting the voice shine through - but I don't think a little definition to the background is going to steal the spotlight. :)

    Yeah, I get you.

I noticed it sounded kinda muffled, but in a weird way I like it, seems like it fits that mental image. Lol.

You flow is nice but you need a better beat man, beat needs kick drums and other instruments to make it more alive

The beat was made like that on purpose, since it was an open collab thing primarily for producers. I just decided to hop on it since I really liked the beat, lol.

I lowkey do kinda like beats with limited drum work though. Lets a rapper's voice shine more than the beat imo.
    But thanks fam.

I legit find it hilarious that a user named Cole Train didn't immediately listen to a jazz album. Just a tasty bit of irony to that, I think.

The album as a whole is pretty damn great, by the way - it all comes together in a nice, jazz'd up package that never really breaks the overall atmosphere. If you like jazz, regardless of your feelings about the game music itself, you'll enjoy this album a whole lot. It's rich, the improv is great and overall the performances are tight.

I mean, if you like Chronotrigger you'll love this album, too, but that almost goes without saying, at this point. ;)

    Lmao, I know right.

Like since it came out though I had it downloaded but never took the time out to listen to it. Should have earlier tbh.

  4. Alright, so I'm involved in a collaboration channel (started out as a group thing, people lost interest) between me and a friend of mine, and I got gaming videos and such.

Some and any feedback on...well anything after that Lavender Town cover would be greatly appreciated, as I would like to know any ways I can improve my videos in general. The one I left here is part of a series we have called Console Clashing. Basically, think gaming related editorials in video form.

Hmm, I've always wanted to try producing a rap beat, so maybe if you make some fire lyrics we could put something together ;)

(BTW here's an example of a rap beat I've made before even if its purpose is a bit cheesy, but if I could put produce something more legit and put some rap-style piano thing like this behind it and just edit it a bit, this could be pretty dope. Would you be interested?)

I am really liking that idea man, I'm very interested :]

Also that beat for the chemistry thing was pretty clean tbh, and being someone who likes chemistry that was entertaining, haha.

  6. Yo guys, just a real brief update.

Still looking for an artist. Somewhere in between this time I found one that would be cool, but he ended up flaking on me basically and only told me recently, so imma get back on that. However, if you know any artist you could feel free to recommend em to me.

Also if you haven't heard from me recently, I'll likely get to you shortly after posting this or tomorrow about your track idea, or progress if you're that far in. Still no official check in dates though.

  7. Holy hell, the interest in this boomed a bit out of nowhere, I love it. Lmao.

@DaleNorth It's great to see you're interested in it (and appreciate the song as much as me). Just get back to me about your idea for it if you have one at the moment.

@Navi It's been too long since you've been on Navi, would be great to have you aboard.

@po! Not really right now, no. If there's a track that you're interested in, I can kinda put that on "reserve" for you until you got an idea for it.

@DiggiDis Great. Just contact me with anything man.

@OA That would be great to have on this EP actually. Would really appreciate it.

@djpretzel Yeah, if/when this is done I wanted there to be a separate ep for Parappa 2. Those are some great ideas for the art though. I'll for sure take those into consideration.

In case anyone was wondering how the internet is receiving the new Zelda game:

Not exactly solid proof of anything, but that's some interesting stats nonetheless.

    Eh, i'm not surprised.
It's a new Zelda game after all! (Though who in the hell is actually talking about Halo Wars 2??)
This game is looking to have my favorite art style of any Zelda game though.

  9.

Oho, Parappa certainly has a lot of great music and this sounds like a potentially very awesome EP!
About the art, do you have a general idea what you like it to be, like a concept or just a general mood that the cover should evoke?

Honestly, I've been drawing blanks when trying to come up with covers for this album.

But I do want the art to invoke a similar positivity that the game had though.
I can just message you about that if you don't get me.
