  1. OMG IM IN THE 80's!!! This is awesome! I mean, I'm not a big fan of synth-pop, but the way you pulled this off, makes it awesome. Very sweet synth work. (especially the bass) The vocals make me freakin laugh my ass off! "Non-stop comet elation" Oh it's pure genius! Makke, you are a breath of fresh air and a kick in the pants as to what can be done with a remix!
  2. Normally, this is where I take the remix, dissect it, and say everything I like/dislike. But something about this song, makes it seem almost like it wouldn't be right to say the things I didn't like... So I guess I'll just point out some cool parts of this incredibly emotional mix - the way the bass comes in at 0:35, helps guide the song into the next part. At 2:31, instead of simply leaving the guitar holding the note and fading out, it does a sort of falling note dealie. At 1:09 a clever series of notes leads right back into a repitition of the previous guitar pattern. Little things like this don't really make a difference in the quality of a song, but I think their addition gives a song more "replay value" and a more interesting listen.
  3. Great vibe comin off this track, that piano rules. I also liked the high pitched whistle. THE SCREAM IS THE SHIT! I don't know how you could NOT love it! It reminds me of an old black man gettin out his chair and startin to dance the Charleston after a song from his younger days starts playin. But then again, I'm wierd like that. Don't see what's the fuss about the siren, it reinforces the housey flavor of the song. Great mix. If you don't like it, well, everyone has a right to their own opinion...
  4. In my personal opinion, the power of the single note compliments the strength and adds better resolution to this somewhat crazy off-the-wall style of this mix. And no offence Unipulator, but "obnoxiously technical" doesnt even begin to describe the level of nit-picking your going at here. I understand you want to accurately describe what you feel is wrong with this mix, but I don't know, seems kinda wierd. Anyways, this mix rulez!!!11! I don't think anyone likes anything repetitive, and this mix throws tons of ideas at you all at once! I LUVS IT! The tiniest little things in the background add almost subliminaly to the greatness. (example: 0:27- the noise in the background that sorta sounds like, for lack of a better desciption, little gnomes hammering things) And sounds that would ruin most mixes improve the fun of this one. (example 2:00- sounds like the "you're wrong" buzzer on game shows) If you couldn't tell already, I luvs this mix.
  5. Overall a very good piece. I think it has too much groove to be new age. I always consider new age a bunch of really drawn out chords but I don't listen to, well, I won't say "any" of it, but I don't exactly love it. Anyway, I liked the reverb, gives it that nice otherworldly sorta feel. The wierd "transition" synth that sounds like your falling seemed sorta outta place, but I thought it served nicely in preparing for the next part of the song. I also like the litte effects that came on every now and then. On the whole, a good track.
  6. *soulless look of a brain raped individual* oh.. my...God... This mix RULEZ! The irony of making such a twisted song from a Barbie game... it kicks more ass than, erm, something that kicks a lot of ass... I just wish I was as good at distorting my stuff without making it sound like KRRSSHHCHHHHWAAAAHHH!! CotMM is my hero!
  7. Oh man i luvs dem vibes! Reeeal smooth ya know? I just can't figure out how you got such a good song off such a bad game... Mustin! I humble myself before you, wait wait, someone told me not to feed your ego so... I'll just say kicks ass.
  8. Just a happy little diddy to make you feel better. Like the Beatles "Good Day Sunshine" only, more technoey. Very simple, with the form of the song being A A A then A. Then again it's not even 2 minutes. But i love it anyways!
  9. I love the wall of sound this mix creates. So many little bleeps and blips my mind can't comprehend the madness! I love when my my mind can't comprehend something. But seriously, it's McVaffe. I think any TRUE lover of remixed game music will d/l this mix. Not to mention it's a Virtual Boy remix. HA! Virtual Boy...
  10. What is it that makes the Little Richard "wooyeah" sampled so much? Not to say it's bad. It's just wierd that of all the sounds in the world that particular sample shows up all the time. Anyway, good remix. High energy fun! I luv pretty much all the synths. Only thing is the ending. That last chord never gets resolved. And that makes me a sad panda. Other than that all I have to say about this remix is "WOO Woo woo" "YEAH!"
  11. *sniff* man, I feel like my brother just died or something. Or like someone with a really long sword just wiped out my village and walked off. Oh wait, wait, I think I know why! This is from Lord of the Rings right? no? Well it kicks ass all the same. I mean, this song wasn't even all that good in the game. Sometimes, the most beautiful things come in tacky, poorly wrapped wrapping paper. But as soon as you smash the package and burn the paper, you get a rash. Or something...
  12. I know people say this about seemingly everything, but, it sounds like Radiohead. (which rules BTW) I mean, listen to something like "Let Down" or "No Surprises". The wall of sound and heavy distortion that make it's production top-notch are very similar to those songs. Anyone else think so? That's just the first thing I thought.
  13. It's original, clever, hard to describe, and the original song kicked ass to begin with! i like it a lot. I especially love the augmented chord at 0:40 I'm sucha sucker for those things. The way the song moves smoothly brings in new musical ideas without leaving you behind. I'm sorry I make no sense. I'll just stop now.
  14. Man, the way this song flows and changes. It's a religious experience! I agree in a way with the nay-sayers. There's no real "melody" or hyper-speed breakbeats. I think it just takes a certain kind of ear to enjoy a song like this one. Oh man, I just can't seem to get enough of this remix.... so calm... and peaceful... -zzzzzz
  15. This is freakin' awesome! It's creepy, epic, sad, and powerful all at the same time! I never even really thought about the ghost house theme as so truly amazing, but then, I guess that's what remixers are for.
  16. I'm not normally a huge fan of incredibly smooth stuf like this, but I have to commend Vigilante for making a great song. Everyting flows together very well and leaves you in a trance, and kinda tired, and...sleepy... and...zzzzzzzzzzzzz
  17. "Kick My Axe" kicks my axe! (and my ass i suppose) I love all the parts of it but most especially where everything stops for a while and then BLAM! I also love near the end with all the wierdness going on all at once, disonance and unusual syncopations, and then it all just stops. I give it the Twisted Evil Award of WAAAAHHH!!
  18. Very good stuff goin on here. I loves me the vibes. Everything is so well blended and mellow. Almost secret agenty if you ask me. I mean, you can sorta imagine some guy peakin out from around a wall. He spots his target talking to someone, he ducks low and listens in on their conversation. Well I don't give number ratings, so I'll just say it's damn good.
  19. Unless Super Double Dragon came out after it, that was the last Double Dragon game. And Super Double Dragon was a lot better than BattleToads and Double Dragon IMHO. Anyways, the opening is... different. I like it! Very cheesy! Erm, wait cheesy isn't a compliment. But that's what Jivemaster was aiming for, so, if he got done what he wanted, than he did good. Right? Ack! My brain! Well, the actual song is very 80's rockish. Personally, the melody seems to be lacking something. It's repetitive and not very dynamic. Very 80's rockish! I did like the synth solo in the middle though. So I give props to Jivemaster for taking a song that wasn't too great to begin with and making it listenable.
  20. This is so... beautiful. *wipes tear from eye* It's as though this is the first time I've ever heard this song. Im gettin a little choked up. All I have to say is, if you DON'T like this song, then there's simply no hope for you. You might as well just go play with your Pokemon cards. Or something. Disco Dan is The Man!
  21. I'm not too into the ambient scene so I pretty much knew I wasn't going to absolutley love it when I clicked it. I dig the guitars, and the Cotmm wierd noises bring back memories of Pink Floyd. Otherwise, it's too repetitive, and I have trouble waiting through 2 and a half minutes for something to happen.
  22. OH MY GOD THIS REMIX IS THE BEST REMIX EVER!!!! The jungle beats, played with brushes, put through some strange FX filter, and just normal are AWESOME! The piano, simple as it is, adds so much! Those chimes, the organ-type thing, the acoustic bass, it all just rules! My favorite remix on the site, or damn close seeing as how I don't think you can really compare EVERY song on the site. Some are just plain wierd...
  23. A good mix on the whole. My only gripes - lack of bass and weak drums. Granted, those are some big gripes, but they are the only reasons this isn't going on my playlist. If you aren't a drum/bass whore like me, I'm sure you would enjoy this mix to no end. Great cohesiveness with all the parts of the song and high energy synth action! Not to mention fun breaks!
  24. This remix is interesting in that it's not exactly laid back per se, nor is it energetic. It seems to know exactly where it is and where it's going, aand isn't in any rush to get there. I also love those quarter-note piano chords! There so, so, FUN! I like it.
  25. Fast, fun, energetic. It's everything you'd expect from a mix aiming to kick you in the junk. That strange "SportsCenter" type synth that yells at you on occasion gets annoying, but the little serene pieces that come in every now and then are a nice touch.
