Bonus entry in. Does anyone else find it way too much fun to work with short source songs?

So glad to see this made it onto the site! Evocative, adventurous, and a tad whimsical. It travels fluidly through moods, soaring yet grounded. Well done.

Everything you could ask for in a Juke remix. Authentic SFX, perfectly calm and gentle instrumentation, and Zelda's Lullaby. Good work as always.

A remake of Ordon Ranch from Twilight Princess, with just a touch of Zelda's theme in the middle to make it special.

Same. Did someone coerce folks to vote for me? XD It was a pleasure to hear everyone else's takes on the Face Shrine, though. Halloween songs, eh? (Heads straight to Super Metroid...)

    MISSION STATEMENT
The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required.
    MnP Instructions/Guidelines
Source-Picks are limited to the era of gaming 1984-2006.  In other words, Nes/Sega Master to PS2/GC/XBox 1.  Going to relax this rule with certain Indie Titles like Shovel Knight, Undertale and possibly Crypt of the Necrodancer.  Update me upon further titles that have that 'Retro Fidelity'.  Thanks! Modifying the Source is fine, so long as it doesn't sound completely separate from its original intent.  Small tempo changes are OK.  But not 140 to 80 etc.  Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. MISC/TIPS
    - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make people's lives easier.
    - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)

If you voted, you'd have been 1st place too...Depending on who you voted for maybe.  Huh...Guess it isn't 100% fail-safe (over9000 edits).  But we got 2 entries for Spooktober, so this is a bigger win, when you think about it.
    See you next Mission.

Souperion got a reaction from TAIKOI in Chill, instrumental electronic music - Sapphire
Gotta say, I liked the woodwind intro. Kinda wish the ensemble reappeared in the piece. Despite the decided electronic, chilling dancy vibes, it strikes me as the theme of a mystical village of some sorts. Like the ubiquitous forest elf village tucked away with all their magic and mystery. And synthesizers, by the sounds of it. I'm rather curious about how this would sound as a mainly orchestral piece. Good work here!

The whole soundtrack for this is just phenomenal. I think the Mega Drive (Genesis for markets outside Australia?) BGM is the absolute best.
I kinda feel like a fraud when the source material so good.

I like the almost anxious atmosphere of this piece. Even the high-octane segment feels more like rising tension than any manner of resolution. Could work as cut-scene music, easily. Well done here.
