Wassup Thunder reacted to TheVideoGamer in PRC425 - The Great Track 8 (Zork 1)
The bassline (Ostinato if you wanna be technical) runs on a single note throughout the whole thing, so that really determines the key signature. Since it's at a constant Bb, i can guarantee it's in Bb Minor. There is a few minor thirds in there too, which also helps.

Dude please stop acting like a total Zork lol.

Hey, splicing songs together and whatnot is inherently tough stuff, don't feel too bad about struggling with it. From experience, it's typically easier when you actually get to choose the subject songs XD. The attempt itself is an accomplishment.

I think it's in Z flat minor.... Zork jokes.

^ I believe it's B flat minor. Someone with real music theory know-how, spot me on this.

What key is the song in? -- Just so I know when trying to work with loops and stuff in it.

This gives me all sorts of ideas. Short, evocative, and full of room for variations! And all I got to go off for names is "Track 8"... Time to Zork.

Also, in case people don't know or understand what I meant by the vague inspiration from my genre choice for the song:
The Glitch Mob is a trio electronica group. Song is slightly influenced from their earlier work like this album. Quite good stuff if you're interested.
Also sorry for the extremely short blurb for my song. Was pretty angry and slightly frustrated with it. Really love both songs but IDK. I found the process of splicing them together incredibly hard by comparison to other people's experience (as well as trying a new genre-blend, while trying to keep in the MnP spirit) and felt like autistic screeching was going on in my brain by the end of it.
Seems to be the case I struggle with fusing songs together. Probably just something I need to work on. Hope people enjoy it nonetheless. o/ See y'all after the voting polls.

What's the difference between the deadline and the closing date?

The deadline is when it's due in. The closing date is for latecomers.

Mine's in, I guess.
And yeah, it uses both songs in it.

Wassup Thunder got a reaction from CJohnson in Ftm File to Midi process: Need technical help
I found a solution that I could use, so this post can be considered resolved! I found a work around and got the midi I was after. I used Famitracker to export the file as a NSF, then used a converter to turn that into a (pretty rough, but still useful) Midi. The converter is here: http://vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php/NSF_to_MIDI in case this helps anyone else in the future.

Haha the main difference is the stabs are string chords, and the drums are techno-like.
What's good about this version, is that it highlights how good the chord progression is. Again it's a simple track, your creativity is encouraged, but the strings do make a big difference.

The rearrangement is good, as inspiration for your remix, just to see how the composer arranged it for real instruments.

Great round, everyone, loved listening to everything. I appreciate the win almost as much as I appreciate the feedback. Very helpful critiques all around. Man, I should really study some orchestral compositions...
And @TheVodouQueen, the Six Million Dollar Man was my second guess!

Congratulation @Wassup Thunder As I wrote in the comments, that one was very enjoyable and it seems you didn't only meet my taste there! But also again to all the others: congratulations on your remixes!
As I got into time trouble yet again, even after the 20 hour grace period, I hope the comments on the vote are helpful in one way or another. I just didn't finish them in time to proof read.
