    Entry submitted!
Trism - This was an excellent pick (I hadn't even heard of this game until now)! It definitely is like an 80's action movie ending - victorious and uplifting!
Also, thanks, TheVideoGamer, for the additional MIDI! I really appreciate it!
I'm looking forward to hearing everyone's entries!

    Current games in the wheel:
Last weeks winners was a tie from Hoboka, and Ronald Poe!
The ones Highlighted in Red are Hoboka's choices that he sent me. The ones Highlighted in Green are Ronald Poe's entries that he sent me. Sadly Ronald only sent me 4 games from 4 systems, so i had to fill in the rest, which are highlighted in Blue.

    Listen to the Soundtrack:
Information about the Game and Soundtrack:
Driver 2: Back on the Streets (Or if you are from America. It's called Driver 2: The Wheelman is Back) Is a video game released in 2000 by Reflections Interactive, published by Infogrames. It is a sequal to the first game released in 1999 The game involves you driving in cars and completing missions to progress within the story. This involves running from the police, and mobs, doing damage to other cars, and looking for suspects and witnesses. The plot involves searching a dead man after 2 men shot him during a shootout in a bar. They believe this leads to more clues and they recruit 2 officers to help with the investigation.
The music was done by 2 guys. Allistair Brimble (Who at this point was an already established composer from the UK) and Richard Narco. The soundtrack follows in the vein of Funk, particularly from the 70's, like Car Movies. The music at times can be energetic, or slow and....er...funky. There isn't much difference in some tracks, and more or less most follow this style. Some tracks though take a more modern approach, especially within the drum programming. It's not the most innovative soundtrack, but there are some gems to be found on here.
Compo starts Today at 6th January 2019! and finishes at 20th January 2019!
Voting begins on the 20th January 2019 and finishes on the 27th January 2019. I will inform you who has won on the thread!
Please submit a valid mp3 file, in decent quality that is less than 20mb. It must be easy to access and download. A ThaSauce page will be set up soon, so if you can then submissions. It's been an on/off situation with ThaSauce, so SoundCloud is a good choice if ThaSauce isn't working for you. Right now nothing is set up, so submissions will have to be external from this thread, via download links, or streaming services. I recommend using SoundCloud as a choice of service! Add a link here on this thread, if you can.
You have 2 weeks to mix! Let's see what you have come up with! Good Luck!
Since Ronald Poe and Hoboka already won last time, and contributed some games, they can only participate with a Bonus Mix! You cannot vote for Bonus Mix's, but for the people who won, they get a vote that Counts Twice!

TheVideoGamer reacted to Bundeslang in Spin the Wheel - Number 1
Just checked the ThaSauce page and realized that (as mentioned by Ramaniscence) ThaSauce changed the dates from 2018 to 2019 (as always, ThaSauce only has this and next year as option so if a round is edited in the beginning of january the dates from last year (2018) change to this year (2019)).
I edited the dates to a past date so that the songs are visible and downloadable again.
Also, if you need something edited at ThaSauce feel free to send me a PM. If you send a PM I get an email notification.
  4. Thanks

    Results time
Bundeslang got 6 points and the last place wooden spoon.
Silverpool gets the 3rd place with 7 points.
Dudley Ghost received 12 points and 2nd place
And the winner of PRC385 is TheVideoGamer with 14 points
TheVideoGamer congratulations. You got the most points and your song has the most minutes of this round. With such a long entry, it's well deserved.
You may pick the source for PRC387. Send the source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Send your sources as fast as you can, but before next Wednesday (16 January 2019), 10:59 AM ThaSauce time (18:00 UTC, 19:00 GMT).
Dudley Ghost, as winner of PRC384 you also may select a source for this round (didn't receive it yet).

    PRC386 already started:
You may select any source from any game, but not a source with an OverClocked remix or a source which has been used in PRC before. An overview of the past PRC's can be found in the following links (I recently updated this site):

TheVideoGamer reacted to HoboKa in Spin the Wheel - Number 2
Umm...correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that Driver 2 (PS2) lacks MIDIs to work with.  N00Bs like me may struggle with that.  Might wanna re-roll the round after you do your own investigation.  But I'm pretty sure I'm right.

Anyways, the round is tentatively up.  I will alter it as needed.

I clicked the LIKE and forgot to listen.  BAD HoboKa bad!!  'Queen of Electro' has such a kinky Axiom Verge meets Mortal Kombat vibe to it.  This would work in a real game too, imo.  Very loopable and high-NRG.  Can I bet any feedbackz on my entry?  Oh, also, I PM'd Rama's team to fix your first round's date-glitch.  Cya next round mate.

Guys, if you are interested, i made a higher quality midi file of the track. It's written in it's original tempo, and was not done using a converter. Use it if you wish, Honestly i think it's much better than the other one, as the original midi file appears it to have some problems. Anyways enjoy!

I wanted to participate in the free round, but I couldn't decide on a source (until AFTER the deadline).
But I'm definitely gonna give this one a go!
On that note - Zephyr's quite an excellent source pick, TheVideoGamer! I'm glad you liked my source pick!
So, I have... something, but... it's under the genre of: "Randomness & Spontaneity."
...yeah, I'm gonna give it another listen tomorrow and send it in (soon).
Edit #1: Okay! Things sound a bit better. But, some parts, upon additional listening, need more tweaking, but that happens.
(Late) Edit #2: Sorry I didn't submit anything - my entry was a complete disaster.

MnP ARCHIVE  - made by Trism

    MISSION STATEMENT
The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required.

    MnP Instructions/Guidelines
Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. Please don't make any comments about people's entries - including your own - until the Voting process is concluded.  BONUS entries are exempt of this rule. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct
    MISC/TIPS
    - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier.
    - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)

Also worth noting that this exposed a bug: If you edit a compo from the previous year, the system will set it to the current year. The interface right now does not support changing to a year prior to the current year. Use caution when accessing the last compos of the year right now. They will need to be updated directly by me and fusion to fix.

Unfortunately, at the moment I don't feel comfortable adding new admins given the nature of the admin panel. Give me a few days to strip down some of the more...sensitive features and this shouldn't be a problem. This is something I've already implemented on my development branch, so it'll just be a matter of pushing it the live branch. Someone ping me either here, or on the ThaSauce Facebook page probably sometime next weekend (the 12th, I'm still on vacation until the 7th) and we can revisit this.
In the meantime, I'm fine with the existing admins assisting with the compo on the site.
