  1. I'll update the roster after my deathly Organic Chem exam is over this week. Thanks for joining guys!
  2. Heh heh, very nice. How exactly do you hold it though?
  3. So many new members, makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... No wait, that's just diarrhea. Anyways, roster has been updated. Enjoy the holidays everyone!
  4. I'm not a DJ or anything like that, but I do own a substantial vinyl collection and I continually add to it as well. My current turntable is a cheap second-hand table that I found at Goodwill and while it has served me well, I'm going to upgrade. Does anyone know of any good turntables in the $150-250 range? I'm no audiophile, but I do want a table that will last a long time and can bring the best out of my vinyl. I've been looking at the Pioneer PL 990 Turntable and the Audio-Technica AT-PL120 Turntable. Both seem to be sturdy and they both have built in preamps which is nice since I don't own a dedicated stereo preamp.
  5. Ahh, worms armageddon. First game I ever played on the PC. Brings back good memories. Concrete donkey FTW.
  6. Heh heh. Nice. Do you install it to run during screensaver, or all the time?
  7. We need more power to the foward warp engines Mon Capi-tan! Anyways, even if we fall behind a little we're still contributing a massive amount to the cause. Kudos to all of you for your help.
  8. Yeah, it's my primary drive. I used a program called Max Blast 3 back in the day when I was using IDE to do what I want to do now, but that's ancient history.
  9. So I just bought a new hard drive. It's nearly identical to the one I have now (SATA II, 250 GB, Western Digital Caviar) with the only difference being a 16 mb cache instead of the 8 meg cache in my current hard drive. So, what I want to do is copy everything from my current drive to the new drive so that it's like nothing happened. I really don't want to have to reformat and go through all that trouble. Are there any good, free programs that any of you have used to do this? Thanks.
  10. Hmm, never had that problem before. Might want to check out the FAH site and see if there's any info regarding that problem. Anyways, thanks again to everyone for participating!
  11. I just want to be able to listen to music through the same speakers that I do everything else with. It's just a way to avoid buying another set of speakers when the ones I have now are awesome. Oh yeah, I just got a long RCA cable with 18 gauge wire, cut it in half, exposed the wires, and put those in the spring clips of the unit. Works perfectly.
  12. Hmm, how much sound quality loss would result from that? If it's substantial, I might as well go get some used tower speakers that have spring clip inputs. EDIT: found this, should do the trick if I"m not mistaken: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102959&cp=2032058.2032227.2032241&pg=1&searchSort=TRUE&retainProdsInSession=1&y=9&x=12&s=A-StorePrice-RSK&parentPage=family
  13. Sadly, the back of the rack doesn't have any AUX outputs. It has CD in, but the only outputs it has are the speaker outs via the spring clips. AUX outputs would make this a lot easier though
  14. Hey guys, So I recently aquired an old record player/preamp/cassette player rack and I'm trying to connect it to my mixer so that it can output through my studio monitors. Problem is, is that the rack outputs through those funky spring clips. (These things: ) Is it possible to simply take a 1/4" TS cable, cut off the plugs on one side, strip off some of the insulation, and run the bare wire through the spring clips? Would this allow for me to output from the rack system to my mixer? Thanks!
  15. So I finally got off my lazy ass and organized the OCR member's list. Behold it in its alphabetized glory
  16. Just realized that there were a few PMs of people wanting to be added to the roster. Sooo.... Roster updated!
  17. Yeah, instead I just plugged my midi controller into my Padcontrol's midi in and I'm running both through USB now. Seems to work fine.
