  1. what i'm saying is, humans almost never play EXACTLY on each beat perfectly...it will be slightly off. moving the note so that it starts slightly off helps it sound more human.
  2. yeah i'm gonna have to second what dhsu said about working on transitions and elaboration... also much of what you have here sounds rather fake in terms of sequencing, rather rigid performance. the whole thing could use humanization both for rhythm and velocities (velocities aren't as bad though). vary the velocities and try nudging the place where the notes start off the beat ever so slightly...so it's not so machine like. percussion is kinda exposed a bit, very much in front of the orchestra. in an orchestra context, you'll usually find them in the back...try to see if you can push them back in the space you've created with the reverb. contrabasson sample at 4:07 is very exposed solo...add something else there too. there's a lot of good things you have going on here, the issue is the production(realism) and the transitions.
  3. Hey, awesome great news! Congratulations to you both just one thing, was the ring a zircon? ...please don't answer that question
  4. there's already a thread about this, explaining the issue: http://www.ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=19961
  5. haha awesome, not many people will remember that reference.
  6. so yeah, i beat the demo, very cool concept. great blend of audio and visual
  7. http://www.jilliangoldin.com/ "Through Sand and Snow" there, under albums.
  8. i think the ninja gaiden one isn't that close at all the first few notes are the same but it digresses quickly. i have a remix i'm working on right now where i was just using a C minor chord and i had to curse John Williams' name because the order and rhythm of the notes i used was Vader's theme. completely unintentional and i didn't realize it until afterwards when i listened to the track rendered.
  9. good composers borrow, great composers steal
  10. i'll second that too kyle, i got to see a little of it...hehe
  11. hated nah...misinterpreted yes i don't hate prot also we should take a moment to appreciate Lea for her awesome work done, you all seen bits and pieces of the awesome she did for this project. thanks Leah.
  12. So just as a shout out to anyone who's interested: I'm interested in collaborating on one of three possible tracks, depending on who and how. but it's these tracks: Golbez, Clad in dark Castle Damcyan Illusionary World if you're interested in collaborating contact OA or I.
  13. "Hello, i'd just like to say, "Christian is a badass" Odd way to start a song if you ask me. Can't complain over that though lol. The piano in the beginning could use some humanization and the bass at that point is overpowering it. Actually through the whole thing the piano is just being drowned out, bring it up more or lower everything else. I also think the piano could use with some more parts to it rather then just a solo line...this is because of not much going on (despite having the soundscape filled). The drums could go for some more variation and interest...they're rather cookie cutter and uninteresting. String break was a good change up. I don't quite understand the point of the clip still. So my biggest comment would just be, add more stuff overall to the whole piece. Cheers
  14. Never got a cd either i blame larry
  15. i'm actually working on a lockjaw's saga remix for the dkc2 project
  16. yeah i saw that, i don't have one at the moment, i may be able to get a quickie (read: low-quality) up soon though.
  17. I said i could do german with some coaching, it'd be more efficient to sing english, latin or italian. basically what i'm saying is, i've done it before, but with heavy coaching.
  18. yes, because i mixed up my italian, spanish, and latin que che, que, and kway...yep
  19. that's pretty much exactly what i did for OA's FF4 mix for his "men's choir", it seemed to work out well. also Square-Enix does need to give permission to liscense/grant usage. it doesn't matter what the end result is...they will need to yes anything you may sell.
  20. one thing i forgot to mention, i can sing in these languages: English, Latin, Italian, and German (i can get coaching on the latter).
  21. keep me informed as far as vocal needs goes, when time comes i'll probably step up to sing on one of the tracks.
  22. Cool, it wasn't clear to me. Good luck obtaining permission, i do hope your project can be beneficial to the charity you represent...especially with the noble nature of the concept.
  23. IIRC Gluck obtained permission to do that...do you plan on obtaining permission? Also Gluck had kept a small portion of the profits, sadly enough. Will 100% of the money go to the charity? What does, Dr. Simone's charity benefit? In other words what do they do?
  24. Is this the answer you speak of, otherwise i don't see one.
  25. My interest is piqued, however many questions come to mind: -Is this actually legal? Can you obtain the rights to sell the songs, even if it is for charity? -Who is Dr. Simone, and what is his/her involvement with this concept? From your original post, this is presented in a rather vague manner. -What kind of arrangements are you expecting to hear from this project? -What style of singing do you plan on doing on your "reserved tracks" (meaning you MeleeGurl). -Will you be able to stick with this project until it's completion, or are you going to bail out? for now those questions will do, i may be interested in singing, i don't know about arranging however...i'm a low end baritone.
