ooh, this is smooth I never thought I'd hear the Spring Yard Zone theme being interpreted like that, even at a stylistic motion like what has been shown here. I appreciate a great amount of the moods as shown as a whole, as well as much of the skill as shown with much of the sequencing provisions and the guitar performance style. I also appreciate the tempo change at 3:03 - an aspect that managed to catch me by surprise. If I do tend to have some qualms here, it took me a heck of a long while to get into the vocal provisions (and even the sung vocals were shown to be rather cheesy to begin with IMO), but aside from that I found that to be a very interesting track to take in once the night starts to settle outside. Folks, I think this is one of those tracks involved in a movement of covering Sonic tracks not shown on an OC Remix before, and a quality one to boot. Be sure to keep moving on Harmony!

yeah, that can be fair but I think the reason why they are defined as seperate is because they have totally different melody lines in spite of sharing the same syncopated synth background motif. Interesting that you both will manage to adapt to the one-track-lead-into-another approach, just in case

no, I meant that Nuts was the other person working on Hidden Palace Given KFC's front page commentary I thought that he and his collab partner seem to stand a better chance on getting on the project at this moment in time.

Given that source is the one that would start off the project (I think) I have good hopes for how this would come around While I'm here, I can say I've been playing around with the re-writing of the middle portions of my contribution. Hopefully I might go back to it today, and with a bit of luck we may have a fresh MP3 on hold. I've also been spending a lot of time yesterday doing something else relating to the project, but I'd rather keep that as a secret even to Sithlord

Can I do the first comment dance? Yeah, I remember this from the November/December Free Month within the DoD - we can do with more mixes from there to come here (I can recall Ryan8bit's "Grief of Aktemto" also coming from there). Arrangement is great, and the overall tone has managed to show much of the broad tones as shown from Ashane as of late. Definitely broad stuff. One thing that I still feel curious over is towards the drum expression - didn't quite feel as dynamic as expected, but this is still pretty well thought out. Anyhow, if you're reading this Ashane, welcome to the OCR bandwagon.

We all have our points - if we want this project to be amazing we need to cooperate together. Going onto the whole business issue, I too have fallen behind that. I've got Music Technology coursework to hand in for two weeks' time as well as a secret project that I don't even want to tell much about until next Sunday. After that time I will be free to make more frequent visits, I assure you. But yeah, I'm sure we can all still pull something out of the hat

Thanks very much Glad to see there's someone else out there that likes my crap, mwaha. Sure, I'll take a look into it - we can do with more Sonic piano. Mind, in terms of general arrangement, I felt that much of the compositional foundations have done well to add a more reflective side to the Chrome Gadget status (which in turn got more frantic as time managed to go on). I can still sense the theme there - a very thoughtful variation on the source by that aspect. It may be argued that it seemed to go against the frantic nature of the racing stage, however given the basic landscapes of the level itself I can easily imagine one of those reflective moments while residing within that zone itself. But I have to agree with Sithlord that the quality seemed to be rather ridden with noise. I think the problem with that might have been that you ended up recording the track, then normalising it to its peak straight afterwards - big mistake, and that's what I learnt with my initial variation on Tomorrow's Wake. I suggest that before recording you test the mic input - make sure that the input levels are as high as they can go without clipping or peaking, and once that's done you're ready to be able to record. I hope that helps you. If not, let me know. Me? I just wired a soundfont through a MIDI keyboard, then I played my freakin' heart out. That's ok, I would really hope to hold my own equipment to mic up a real piano one of these days.

What's with Gray and his phoenix titles? Anyhow... wow, I appreciate much of the nature in this one - sounds at a much more professional quality than much of his past works, and that can be easily saying something. There's been a good set of complexities in the sound channels to match, and that's easily impressive. Also, it's then at 0:54 that I have to say something - thank you, GrayLighthing, for covering Awakening! ah man, I love that song so much, and it sounds so great that you managed to give the track some justice. Personally I find the overall scopes of the arrangement here to be easier to get into than much of his previous works, much in a similar fashion to Return of the Phoenix. Even with that in mind I could barely find much wrong here; if anything it may be towards what I thought was some lightly dense flute progressions in their processing (increasing their reverb slightly may help with that), but outside from that... yeah, I have to agree with Pretzel that this is, in fact, the best work that I have seen from GL. Sorry to see Binnie left the judges panel though

May 22nd... wow Looks as if we'll be sure to give it our all over the incoming month! Fingers crossed, I'm sure we can get somewhere. Heh.

Well I know for a fact that I'd be re-writing that area from scratch, as well as taking out the strange sweep-accordion part beforehand. I hope to provide a gradual and more dimented panicked segment to be able to replace it (think those orchestrated builds in "A Day in the Life" by the Beatles), although given work deadlines and a few other future provisions I may struggle to do much mixing before going home for the Summer. Well yeah, it's by here that I'm starting to feel some light concern. o_O I often thought that I should at least have a stab at getting onto a project made accessible right across OCRemix. Now given the light bashing on either side, I'm now concerned on whether this is going to happen or not. It's almost arguments like these that are making me concerned of dropping out. But yeah, we need thought and support to be able to get through this. I know that we can do it because we managed to sign up for the project in the first place. Even if KFC does end up dropping out from the strain, I'm sure that much of us will be able to help push the project further forward. *cue brief nod* Anyhow... thanks for your commentations on the mix. Can't really seem to go into your critiques in depth at this stage having just come back from a long 12-hour musical rehersal (you hear me, I'm going to be involved in a musical comedy on Thursday night), but I hope to be able to take them to heart and apply them within the stages of the mix. Way to go Myth, and with the first FFX-2 mix here to boot! I can't say I'm familiar with the source material, but I can say that you surprised me with this rather electronic approach to it. Somehow, with all these pitch-shifting and mad-science-esque mixing proportions I'm finding it difficult to gather some form of words here. But it's definitely funky and twisted enough for OCR, in all honesty. You also got me lightly giggling at the Prelude and Terra referencing too, so that can be thought well into consideration. Course, the amount of experimentation done to the track may not quite fit everyone's tastes, but it's definitely good enough to be able to fit onto my playlist for a good chunk of time. Thankyou very much Myth, and it's about time you made it here after everything you've done for the site so far. Best of luck with shaping up the Doom mix project "Dark Side of Phobos" to a completed quality. So it should be about time he came on - he was one of the people whom helped me with the hosting for Tomorrow's Wake to fit on the panel. *THAT* shows how thoughtful he is for others, and so he surely needs the favor back ^_~
