  1. Four-part collabs are definitely tickling my fingers already; best of luck to that one
  2. I have no idea what's with the 2-part sandopolis gesture either, but it sounds interesting Anyhow, yeah. I don't know how long it may be before I'd be able to put up a new WIP but I'm working on ideas. Given that my exams will be over by monday that'll leave me with more time to work on it... providing my two mix revisions and contest entry for RPGamer's "Splendid Performance" contest don't get in the way. And... what happened to AkumajoBelmont? Did I miss something?
  3. Well I personally haven't heard of the song up until now, but having been able to check it out a few minutes ago it does have a similar mood to it. Interesting analysis, mind.
  4. KS! Eh... yeah. I'm still messing around with ideas on my work; hopefully my academic studies will be over by Monday, leaving me with some more time to concentrate before heading home. I haven't abandoned this place yet
  5. Well, the show's almost here; I'm game for a call-in!
  6. yeah, I was about to say the same thing Good to see that VGF is set to make its way back on the air, and kudos to TO for the aftershow recording!
  7. ooh, this is smooth I never thought I'd hear the Spring Yard Zone theme being interpreted like that, even at a stylistic motion like what has been shown here. I appreciate a great amount of the moods as shown as a whole, as well as much of the skill as shown with much of the sequencing provisions and the guitar performance style. I also appreciate the tempo change at 3:03 - an aspect that managed to catch me by surprise. If I do tend to have some qualms here, it took me a heck of a long while to get into the vocal provisions (and even the sung vocals were shown to be rather cheesy to begin with IMO), but aside from that I found that to be a very interesting track to take in once the night starts to settle outside. Folks, I think this is one of those tracks involved in a movement of covering Sonic tracks not shown on an OC Remix before, and a quality one to boot. Be sure to keep moving on Harmony!
  8. yeah, that can be fair but I think the reason why they are defined as seperate is because they have totally different melody lines in spite of sharing the same syncopated synth background motif. Interesting that you both will manage to adapt to the one-track-lead-into-another approach, just in case
  9. no, I meant that Nuts was the other person working on Hidden Palace Given KFC's front page commentary I thought that he and his collab partner seem to stand a better chance on getting on the project at this moment in time.
  10. sounds like a firm idea Snapple, but what if people prefer to hear the lava reef and hidden palace interpretations as separate MP3s? o_O [EDIT: While I'm here, I'm saying that after my exams are clear (May 9th) I will spend some time polishing up most of my work-in-progress mixes as well as steadily work on some piano backlogs to gradually submit over the vacation. In that case, I want you to put me in for a big, BIG maybe on the Competition Menu. Please? ]
  11. Master Hatchet... dammit, his take on Ken's theme (Street Fighter II) for the past DoD was awesome, and it sounds great to have him on board. Acoustic Data Select? Interesting. Given that source is the one that would start off the project (I think) I have good hopes for how this would come around While I'm here, I can say I've been playing around with the re-writing of the middle portions of my contribution. Hopefully I might go back to it today, and with a bit of luck we may have a fresh MP3 on hold. I've also been spending a lot of time yesterday doing something else relating to the project, but I'd rather keep that as a secret even to Sithlord
  12. Can I do the first comment dance? Yeah, I remember this from the November/December Free Month within the DoD - we can do with more mixes from there to come here (I can recall Ryan8bit's "Grief of Aktemto" also coming from there). Arrangement is great, and the overall tone has managed to show much of the broad tones as shown from Ashane as of late. Definitely broad stuff. One thing that I still feel curious over is towards the drum expression - didn't quite feel as dynamic as expected, but this is still pretty well thought out. Anyhow, if you're reading this Ashane, welcome to the OCR bandwagon.
  13. We're not flaming - we're just trying to piece together this small part of the mixing jigsaw Anyhow, fingers crossed that I might have something for tomorrow - gonna be a bitch mastering everything again... ;
  14. Well I had suspicions that it would be Final Boss into Domesday, considering the order they appear in the game Interesting ideas, mind.
  15. We all have our points - if we want this project to be amazing we need to cooperate together. Going onto the whole business issue, I too have fallen behind that. I've got Music Technology coursework to hand in for two weeks' time as well as a secret project that I don't even want to tell much about until next Sunday. After that time I will be free to make more frequent visits, I assure you. But yeah, I'm sure we can all still pull something out of the hat
  16. Thanks very much Glad to see there's someone else out there that likes my crap, mwaha. Sure, I'll take a look into it - we can do with more Sonic piano. Mind, in terms of general arrangement, I felt that much of the compositional foundations have done well to add a more reflective side to the Chrome Gadget status (which in turn got more frantic as time managed to go on). I can still sense the theme there - a very thoughtful variation on the source by that aspect. It may be argued that it seemed to go against the frantic nature of the racing stage, however given the basic landscapes of the level itself I can easily imagine one of those reflective moments while residing within that zone itself. But I have to agree with Sithlord that the quality seemed to be rather ridden with noise. I think the problem with that might have been that you ended up recording the track, then normalising it to its peak straight afterwards - big mistake, and that's what I learnt with my initial variation on Tomorrow's Wake. I suggest that before recording you test the mic input - make sure that the input levels are as high as they can go without clipping or peaking, and once that's done you're ready to be able to record. I hope that helps you. If not, let me know. Me? I just wired a soundfont through a MIDI keyboard, then I played my freakin' heart out. That's ok, I would really hope to hold my own equipment to mic up a real piano one of these days.
  17. Yeah, but that sounds like my final considering that I won't be using a music tech lab over the summer
  18. What's with Gray and his phoenix titles? Anyhow... wow, I appreciate much of the nature in this one - sounds at a much more professional quality than much of his past works, and that can be easily saying something. There's been a good set of complexities in the sound channels to match, and that's easily impressive. Also, it's then at 0:54 that I have to say something - thank you, GrayLighthing, for covering Awakening! ah man, I love that song so much, and it sounds so great that you managed to give the track some justice. Personally I find the overall scopes of the arrangement here to be easier to get into than much of his previous works, much in a similar fashion to Return of the Phoenix. Even with that in mind I could barely find much wrong here; if anything it may be towards what I thought was some lightly dense flute progressions in their processing (increasing their reverb slightly may help with that), but outside from that... yeah, I have to agree with Pretzel that this is, in fact, the best work that I have seen from GL. Sorry to see Binnie left the judges panel though
  19. May 22nd... wow Looks as if we'll be sure to give it our all over the incoming month! Fingers crossed, I'm sure we can get somewhere. Heh.
  20. Well I know for a fact that I'd be re-writing that area from scratch, as well as taking out the strange sweep-accordion part beforehand. I hope to provide a gradual and more dimented panicked segment to be able to replace it (think those orchestrated builds in "A Day in the Life" by the Beatles), although given work deadlines and a few other future provisions I may struggle to do much mixing before going home for the Summer. Thanks very much for the commentation, and the alternative hosting.
  21. I don't have AIM (in fact, that buggered thing hates me X.x); I could email it to you if your mailbox is big enough for a 5MB+ file.
  22. Oh funk... Who thinks I should put it up at VGMix as a WIP? (although that in itself may have to wait until Friday because I put forward a Jak and Daxter WIP a couple of days ago) Or at least point me in the direction of other suitable file space?
  23. There's always my email - bev.wooff@gmail.com And yeah, I'm sure we can be able to move on in piece. Gray has managed to raise a valid statement with his contribution on hold - if we keep arguing in this manner, this project will end up going nowhere o_O
  24. Wow Myth, you must have been proud with yourself there. Yeah, I managed to read your speech through and I can tell that as a whole you've got pride for what you've done brother. Again, welcome to the clan. It's only two typed out in Microsoft bleedin' Word! Sheesh... I just love being mocked like that
