  1. Has anybody else played or purchased this game? I just bought it today and it's apparently a good game to play multiplayer. Easy to learn, but very difficult to master. I look forward to spending the weekend learning the game, if anyone else has it, might be fun to team up or play off against each other.
  2. I think you forfeit birthday wishes when you make your own well-wishing thread. When you're in hospital, do you send yourself "Get well soon" cards with flower bouquets?
  3. You just want to fit in down in Compton, yo.
  4. Throwing a small update out there: A couple more tracks are added to the final tracklist. 8 tracks have been mastered and rendered, ready to release. Dave's working on the site design and we should have a release, I'm going to risk saying, within a month. DJR's tracks won't be included in the project to keep the peace. Best of luck to him.
  5. It's cheap for pretty much anyone who isn't from the US to donate. The Canadian/Aussie dollar is at it's highest for a long time. The GBP and Euro are also doing strongly against the USD. Putting it literally, OCR will get almost double the income from currency conversion now than it would have 5 years ago.
  6. You know those ads shape themselves to your searching tendencies...
  7. Jim asked me to contribute 3 kangaroos to OCR. I argued that Kangaroos aren't worth the trouble, and suggested 3 koalas instead. He agreed, but bartered me up to 2 koalas and a dingo. The going rate of exchange for a koala is $10 US, and the exchange for a dingo is $5 US. Therefore I will donate $25 US to the site. May the $5 feed on your baby.
  8. Ghosts 1, 18, 21, 28 and 35 were standouts to me. Most of the rest were either too drab to hold my interest, had annoying phrases in them, or I haven't listened to enough yet to grasp.
  9. Terrific. Groovy, yet somehow rather serene and relaxing. Another Mazedude mix for my ipod. Reminds me a little bit of Ghosts N Goblins at some points.
  10. Rimco's Doomed E1L8 Boss ReMix is my favourite track on the site. Other tracks that I listen to a lot are "Neighburgers" by Protricity, "The Mother is in Control" by Revolver Project and "The Calling" by DJ Redlight. I respect Mazedude's music the most though, as he continually produces quality music that pushes the envelope in originality.
  11. Grand Cross is the final battle music in FF9, right? At least I think that was one of the attacks Necron uses, so I'm assuming so.
  12. I'll die before I let Harmony age another year! Happy birthday Brandon.
  13. Too many birthdays. Jill and Brandon now, Karl and Larry in a weeks time. Happy birthday Jill!
  14. I'm going into the business of creating background loops for games. Generating them properly inside FLStudio is no problem. However, when I render to mp3, it leaves a small gap at the beginning and end of the file which disrupts the perfect-repeat loop in playback. Same small gap at the front and end of the song. I've changed the sync depth back and forth, tried using the cut/wrap/leave remainders. Problem arises each time. It doesn't have the gap when I render to wav, when I save it as an mp3 from Audition though, it also adds the gaps. The file has to end up as an mp3. Anyone know how to rid these pesky gaps from the render?
  15. I have a job assembling, programming and shipping military radios and products. As with most other judges, I'd one day like to be able to make music a fulltime career, or at least an area to profit from, but for now a job outside music is necessary to earn a living. Also out of interest, since I live in Perth, it's both a blessing and a difficulty in that there are a lot of small jobs for musicians here, but no room to really expand into the main industry.
  16. As a note of interest. Two songs on the final fantasy X soundtrack have a striking resemblence to greensleeves as it is.
  17. Abadoss, my piece is titled "Talon Eye", not "The Orichalcon"
  18. He was taking valium/xanax as well as stilnox (ambien.) I'm prescribed on the ambien pills as well as anti-anxiety pills myself. The two do interact with each other, and ambien is a very powerful drug that has had a lot of bad press lately. Even taking just 10mg (1 tablet) too much can cause major changes in brain function. Coupled with the valium, it's no surprise that his heart gave out. If he did OD on the sleeping tablets, that would've knocked him out and from there, any drugs in his system would've had free reign over his body. I wouldn't think this was suicide, since there's no real guarantee that those drugs would kill you. If he wanted to kill himself, there are more thorough ways. It just sounds like a tragic case where he might've dipped his hand into the bottle and grabbed out 1 or 2 extra tablets by mistake. Of course, we'll all know after the autopsy exactly what caused it. For now, I respected Ledger's acting, loved his deep voice. He did a great job representing Perth and Australia on the global scale. It's a shame that he died so young, not just because he was a good boy with such a promising future, but also because he was Perth's best hope of getting some public recognition. They'll most likely fly him back here and bury him in Fremantle Cemetary, where Bon Scott is buried.
  19. Maybe it's faux-synth. Real instruments trying to sound synthetic.
  20. I'm gonna wait for the album before I comment. The sample wasn't exactly thrilling, but it might be better to listen to it whole, from the start.
  21. I enjoyed it. Just saw it today. Had no idea what it was about before seeing it, which made it all the better. Thumbs up, go see it.
  22. Correct. As I said in the last line of my post, people who were working on tracks can still have them added to the project so long as they get a move on and get it to me ASAP. I won't be taking new artists on-board unless they submit me a solid final piece that I can just add to the project.
  23. I would highly approve of a long island iced tea right now. Thanks guys, you're all so lovely I wish I could marry you all and have your children. But I can't, so hugs all around instead.
  24. Since it's too difficult to find artists to fill the remaining tracks and actually complete them, I've decided that given how good the mixes are that we already have, the project's now considered completed and will be released in its current state. So I've closed the project as finished. Once we've organised a website and mastered/organised the tracklist, we'll decide on a releasedate. All eligible tracks on the album will be submitted to OCR to either be direct-posted, or judged on the panel. There's no guarantee they'll all pass. I'll send emails to the mixers asking them to write up comments on their mixes as well as details for the site. I'd like to give a big cheers to the mixers who have patiently waited so long for the release. We're almost there! I'll email everyone involved with a date once it's been organised. Forgot to mention that artists who were working on tracks, you can still have yours added to the final tracklist, just hurry up and finish them, send them to me ASAP. Otherwise you'll be left out.
  25. Interesting. Free is free. Especially when you have a spam-free mailing address. Hopefully it's good.
