  1. About 15 years ago a few of us from the old ocremix chatroom (and others) collabed to animate Brian Clevinger's "8-Bit Theater" webcomic.

Voice actors/directors Mack Devin & Edwyn "Omahdon" Tiong (aka the second Black Mage actor) recruited some of us recently to voice VG Cats' tribute to 8BT.

For a site dedicated to nostalgia, I figured it wouldn't hurt to get nostalgic.

    The strip is here: http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=65

    The voiced-over video is here:

It was a blast getting the band back together. Let us know what you think and be sure to check Mac & Omahdon's pages linked in video's description!

  2. Hey so I'm making myself an OCRemix Project M custom music pack. Anyone have good suggestions for songs/stage?

I looped Shnabubula's "Temple" from NES JAMS into a BRSTM (use for Temple), as well as zircon/sixto's "Subterranean Kamikaze", injury's "Circuit Breaker", and zircon's "Monstrous Turtles" (use for Luigi's Mansion).

    I gots severals mores.

  3. This is why I love nerds:

Droidsound has been unofficially spunoff by a fan of the app and it now plays much more varied game files, including usf, dsf, 2sf, and brstm... which means if you want the SSBM/SSBB soundtrack on your Android or if you've looped Sixto & zircon's Subterranean Kamikaze into a brstm like I have, you can listen to it fo'evah.

P.S. Shnabubula's Zelda 2 "Temple" from NES JAMS makes an awesome brstm also. I ain't tellin' you what I heard, I'm tellin' you what I know!

  4. x = ((Skrypnyk's post + The Coop's post + k-wix's post) - talent)

I'm wired to enjoy a loop over and over (which explains why i keep creating .BRSTM files). Id wager I'm apt to listen to the source material more often than the remix for many songs.

But to each his (or her) own.

  5. Impressive. That mashup makes it better. It took 19 years to become public knowledge.

Is there a reason Buxer would've kept it quiet so long?

Wow, that's an amazing find! :o I always thought the Icecap theme sounded like Jackson's Smooth Criminal myself (the bassline is very, very close)...

...now, the question is, what are the Carnival Night and Launch Base themes based off of? They got taken out and replaced in the PC port, too!

Carnival Night = "March of the Gladiators" + "Jam".

  6. I started one years ago and made a roughly 90 second SMB3 instrumental mix. I scribbled some lyrics, but never recorded them.

I still have the mp3, but at the time I only had the FL Studio demo, ergo, no source file. I've thought about trying to recreate it from scratch, though.

If something does come out of this, please PM me. As OCR's resident Bible Thumper (probably 2nd only to Thin Crust), I would LOVE to be involved.

    Welcome to OCR.

**side note** I DID make brief EDM-ish version of "I Know It Was The Blood"... 4x4 4 tha Lord!
