  1. It's been at least a month (and it's probably getting close to two) since I submitted this, so I'll try again. The URL is: Song Title: This Is My House (Zelda 2) Artists: Aquas and LousySpy Aquas improvised the vocals, I listened to it and decided to put music with it, and we somehow managed to create instant insanity. If "Music of my Groin" managed to make it to OC, I don't see why this wouldn't as well.
  2. I think nothing would get this posted faster than if I were to vote yes. Sorry I didn't write more but I'm coming off of a 12 hours shift. I...I just can't do it, nor can I keep Matthew (or the fans) waiting any longer. I guess I'll just have to post a review for it one of these days EDIT: I've locked the thread because orky said he'd change his vote upon the submission of a smaller sized file. Well CotMM has complied so I take it to mean that orky's no has >>>> to a yes, which makes mine the deciding vote. Melanie must be ecstatic.
  3. Why not just make it a sticky as several people have suggested before?
  4. A nicely arranged submission here by The Coop. Good samples, bassline support, noise effects, and drum work. A song like this is prime candidate for a good song to be totally ruined with crappy drum programming. I see this song as OCR quality. Yes.
  5. ....... okay. If you're going to submit a Prelude mix, you have to do something never done before. So I went in with my hopes up. And the beatdrop that enters at 0:48 had me ready for something special. "Alright," I thought. "This isn't so bad thus far. I just hope he switches it up somewhere down the road." Then came the strings at 1:20. . No. My advice? Download every version of the Prelude you can possibly find. I've got well over 20 myself. Listen to them all and figure out what you can do differently. I'm telling you, getting a Prelude mix on OCR is going to be MORE than an uphill battle. You have to ultra, ULTRA stand out. Going with a groove instead of techno was a good start. I like that. Now mix it up and please, please, please.... find some better string samples. The ones you have will NOT cut it. Oh, and cut the 4 seconds of dead space at the beginning of the mix. Thanks and good luck! -ap
  6. I'm sitting here listening to this while I'm reading the December issue of Playboy's interview with Denzel Washington (he seems like a normal guy save for the $20M salary). It's just in the background, not to shabby, ya know? Then all of the sudden my concentration is lost on the article at around 3:42. The beatdrop caught my attention and drove me away from what I was reading. Before it was an alright mix, you know? I'd have said yeah, but now I'm going to definitely say yes. Why? Because that instance right there broke things up. Techno songs are generally long and repetitive, so when you go in knowing the song is techno you prepare yourself for such. You say, "instead of bitching cuz it's repetitive, I understand that this genre is structured that way so I'll see how the song fits together as a whole." Well the introduction of the piano at 3:11 helped to break some of the ice, but the breakbeats totally shattered it for me and MADE me really listen to the rest of the song. I'm glad that this song made it onto OCR and I'm kinda interested in what else SuperGreenX can produce. Maybe I'll have to check out that mp3.com page, huh? Just one thing...what's with the monkey's at the conclusion?
  7. *This is AP* Remeber the epic 9 mix flood from The Coop? Well here's ONE of them redone. CotMM has been kind enough to host this song on his shared server. Thanks dude!
  8. No. On top of not liking the arrangement of the tune or the ending. The samples are too annoying (especially that chiming panned to the left). Sorry pal. Better luck next time.
  9. No big deal about the delay. I think I did mention in the email that the song was up in three different places. I hope everyone likes it! -Danny SuperGreenX
  10. Howdee! A long while back (End of July/early August, I believe) I submitted a mix of Kefka's Theme, entitled 'Kefka vs. Sanity', which can be found here: Many thanks! M@
  11. This may be a first... My e-mail to see if my remix became lost in the cracks... appears to have been lost in the cracks... One more time(for good luck!) Title: Final Fantasy(6)Prelude2Peace Remixer:MadHatter0082 (aka-> Lurker of the Flames) Where you can find the file: Thanks for your time and effort.
  12. Hey, Antonio, I submitted a song on August 22nd (I am quite meticulous) but haven't seen it in either the judges forum or the upcoming list. And it's been about a month and a half so I thought I'd mention it (don't wanna throw a spaz or anything). Anyways, it's the title theme to Wizards & Warriors 2: Ironsword Thanks, I appreciate it. This is a submission from Ryan8Bit
  13. Ok, here is the info. Artist/mixer: nex Game: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the seven stars Name of mix: Bobble Head Inspiration (Sorry, but that is the only place to host it. The one i had at VGmix is lost, and beside. I went over it, made it better quality, and added stuffs ) Info about the song: Well one day I was surfin' the web, playing with the new bobble head guy i got while the pages were loading. Just then, i happened to stumble across a Super Mario RPG Site with this (the forest theme) playing in the background. Noticing my bobble head bouncing its head to the rythem, inspiration stuck! who would have guessed?. Bouncy-Techno-Orchestra...I got to work and fell into a 3 hour trance working on the outline and form of it. About a week or so later, i got it done and submited it to VGmix. As said before, I revisited it and made it a little better. i hopes peoples like it ~nex
  14. Guess it's up to me, huh? alright, fine. No. Daniel and CotMM are right in that it's way similar to the original. With the exception of the piano part midway, I dare say it was too close to a midi rip. It sounds ehhh, but like CotMM said, it's not OCR material. Sorry pal. Better luck next time.
  15. Hello, This is Adhesive_boy from the OCR forums (obviously), and I sent in a remix approximately 40 days ago, and I haven't seen any traces of it on the judges forum. I'm just emailing you the submission information as you instructed, because I think I botched the submission info the last time. The adress is: The ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags should be okay, but you might need to make any changes nessisary if it doesn't work for you. Btw, the remix is of a theme from the SMRPG "Merrymore" theme (you might want to get the soundtrack on meridian if you don't remember it). I'm not gonna lie and say that the samples are good, because they're not. However, it is pretty varied and I find it appealing in a strange way. There's some out of tune stuff that I know a judge like DiscoDan won't like...and it was done half-purposely, as weird as it sounds. I dunno, see what you think...Here's the real info: Game: Super Mario RPG Title: Happily Merried OC Remix Artist: Adhesive_boy I know there's someone out here who will enjoy this...I just hope it gets in the Judges Forum at some point...
  16. Protricity's right. This is a direct rip of the midi. Even the instruments sound the same. No.
  17. That intro guitar sample! I like the choir, but that's about it. I don't like this melody. Maybe it's better in the actual game, but this sample is really killing it. Plus it's just the same thing over and over and over again till the choir comes in. I like the vocalizations, as they add to the gloomy dark mood of the song (up till about 2:35). It gets too happy there Your ending sounds like you just kinda gave up on it. Like you couldn't come up with a closer. I know that sometimes that's the hardest part of the song to do, but man... No, no, no. Sorry. Better luck next time.
  18. Antonio Pizza presents... another hard OC vote... Well Ghetto Lee Lewis, or Tom Nelson, or Gen. Fujita, or T Diddy, or whatever you're calling yourself these days... You've got another decent techno mix on your hands. Not only that, but those file sharing idiots who rename stuff all of the time will HAVE to acknowledge OC this time. Yeah, it's long. It's repetitive. It's techno. What do you expect? I respect it's quality given its style. Yes.
  19. You had DOUBTS on this one? Surely this is one of those "clear the queue"-type circumstances, right? Yes.
  20. Okay screw this. It's been sitting here for three weeks. Pretz, you make the final call.
  21. Is it just me, or did this guy sample his stomach growling? THANK YOU for switching the beat up a bit at 1:29. I was just starting to grow weary of it the way it was. It's a bit long though. I know, it's only 2:45, but for such a short theme there wasn't enough original compostition to justify its length. For this reason I'm kinda iffy towards it, but I'll give it yes. I don't like comparing songs, but the ending pics up a "Link's Underworld Pressure Cooker" style approach by subtly adding layers after each loop towards the end of the song. This effect (along with the excellent quality samples) pushed the scale over enough to the postitive.
  22. . I'm kinda torn because I like Act 2 of the song. Yeah, the guitars are on the low side of the quality scale, but it's hard to get good guitar samples, ain't it? I like the song, but I think it's too repetitive. Either add a bridge inbetween or subtract a couple of loops from act 2. I feel the song could end around 2:20-2:30. Overall the song is nice, but there's just not enough variation. Mix in an original section or trim it down or both. Till then, gotta say no.
