  1. I own a Wacom Intuos 3, so I can't help too much. The only problem I've had with it that sounds any bit similar is the tablet -- after my computer's been on for a while -- stops recognizing the pressure sensitivity. When that happens, I usually just reset my computer, and everything's back to normal. It's like the drivers timed out or something. Try looking for newer, or updated drivers for your specific model. That's really the only help I can give. I feel your pain!
  2. Well, I really had considered that at first, and then entertained the idea of doing it based on the site's maturity. But when I thought about it, the OS-Tans aren't that way at all. For example, ME-Tan is very young, however, 2000-Tan and XP-Tan are older than her. 95-Tan is older still. With the OS-Tans, it would seem that their age is based on the System's "personality" which they, themselves also carry. Since you can't really put a singular personality onto a community-based website, I decided to just do whatever age and personality seemed to fit the website's visual look. The vibrant oranges and yellows from V1 seemed, to me, to reflect a more vibrant personality. Here, 1-Tan seems full of life; quite fitting of a young child (And even works as a metaphor for the website's maturity! Bonus!). The cold, metallic blues of V2 related a tougher, quieter demeanor, thus the sort of detached amusement shown in 2-Tan's expression. V3 was still blue, but of a warmer hue, so I made 3-Tan somewhat quiet, but cuter and gentler than 2-Tan. Finally, 4-Tan was designed by Blackmyst, but seems to follow similar guidelines. The vibrant orange gives her a lot of "spunk" but the cooler silver lends a slightly older, more professional feel. That's just my take on it. Others may feel differently, but as Dhsu so eloquently said, "They're as old as the artist says they are!" And since I'm drawing them, I get to decide. Oh! As far as wallpapers go, that enlarged size I posted earlier is actually only 50% of the image's actual dimensions, so this should work really well for wallpapers. When (if) I finish, I'll probably give out each girl's image individually at full resolution so people can use them to make their own wallpapers, OCR album art, signatures, or whatever else. An office cubicle might not be so far off the mark!
  3. I bet it did! Anyway, things will be moving slowly for the rest of the pic. Sketching is easy, lineart and coloring, not as much. I did do a quick color mock-up just to make sure everything is going to work out nice when I get it all finished up. No enlargement here. I just roughed in the colors anyway.
  4. Glad to see my work is appreciated! I finally added the last two girls, and made some tweaks and corrections to 3, and 4. Click to enlarge. Still a WIP. Hopefully, I can get them all fully colored and on a background. Actually, now that I think about it, this is the first image created in which all four versions are together. =O
  5. This is ANY weapon. As in ANY weapon from ANY game. FF Bosses are probably included. The themes from here on out should be much less specific than they were in the past. Most of the themes will probably be open to some very creative interpretation. That out of the way, I think I'm going to have to think about this one. Something popped into my head immediately when I saw the theme, but I bet everyone else had the same thought. I'll tinker around before I say I'll be in.
  6. Yeah, I know. She doesn't look like any real girl I know! Anyway, I doodled up that 3-Tan. I'll probably go ahead and work on the other two for fun. It's interesting trying to tie their swimsuits into their actual outfit designs.
  7. Well, after the Fan Art Competition got revived, I've been in a bit of a drawing mood lately. I decided that I wanted to draw some anime girls in swimsuits because it's summer and all, so I went about doodling up a quick sketch of 4-Tan in a bikini. The thread was going to disappear fairly soon, so I felt I ought to use this as an excuse to bump. This is still a WIP. Hopefully, I'll be able to do at least one for 3-Tan as well.
  8. Look who's talkin' mister Bandit-dart! Oh, and congrats by the way. Seconded Um... Thanks?
  9. I don't see why not. I'll still know you're talking to me until some noob takes that name for him/herself.
  10. Sorry, but I don't use the nick, Bean outside of OCR and haven't for a very long time. Besides, Bean is an extremely common name for people to use. Binjovi on the other hand, is not so much. So it'll be much easier for people to find me and recognize me outside of these forums, like my deviantART page, for example.
  11. I'm a voter! And it was a bit difficult picking from the entries. AWESOME work to everyone.
  12. I am quite certain that I also know what your entry is. Also... My entry's been sent to Atma.

For some reason, it won't let me upload to my existing Youtube account, so you guys'll just have to settle for some snapshots. I'm really digging this thing so far, but I want more parts. So I'll be grabbing the full version when it's out. This Buzzber was my first creation with it. The interface is so simple, I was able to whip him up in no time at all. My second creature was this Handstand Monkey as an experiment. I really wish I could upload videos because it's awesome to see him walking around on his "hands." I goofed around with it some more and didn't make anything terribly interesting until this guy. I call him Bolegg. He walks funny.
  14. My sketch has been complete for about a week but I've been putting off painting it, 'cause it means cleaning off my desk to uncover my wacom tablet. I want to try some speedpainting though, so hopefully it won't take forever to finish.
  15. Bean will be cooking up something awesome for this month. Boss Month has always been a favorite of mine.
  16. No, no, no, no... If you make the themes based on game series we're only going to run into the same problem as last time. It's time to take the competition in a different direction, I say. I gave it some thought a while back and contemplated doing themes that give just a simple idea (love, epic, sadness etc.), allowing for much more creativity in entries. Doing this would let people go with their own ideas, styles, and favorite games/characters, hopefully drawing in a good portion of people every month.
  17. Yes, yes, yes. We got that with our first PC. My bro and I played it to death and are huge fans of the series. We never were able to beat the second, but I think that one was my favorite. I'll have to see if I can find it on Ebay or something. Anyway, one of the things I loved about it was the fact that all the puzzles were integrated into the story. The way everything played out was much better than stumbling around confused. But alas, TJP could never make itself widely known with ol' Myst in the way.
  18. Dshu already made a valid point here, but I have my own to add as well. Sonic Rush's lack of innovation is what made it good. No, still not as good as the originals, but it was and is an awesome game. Every time Sonic Team has attempted to "innovate" with the series, it's lead to a disgrace. You're talking about the Sonic series going downhill recently, yet you use (quite possibly) the worst example game you could find. This makes me think you just wanted an excuse to complain about the DS.
  19. Awesome job Polo. Haha. Sadly, mine doesn't have as much emotion... she doesn't even blink. =/
  20. I've been getting crazy with the editor options. When you spend a lot of time, you can come up with some really neat stuff. You can create some rather challenging tracks as well.
  21. Ah, the opening. Do I get to draw pictures for that? Like... little talking faces or something?
  22. Shipped! Let's see what ol' Coop can do with him, shall we?
  23. I'd appreciate it if you could do that. And, yeah, it's a completely, totally original, made from scratch sprite. I'm actually better at making them myself than editing preexisting sprites for whatever reason. I'll see about moving his parts around when I get home from work to give you more to play with. Anyway, I tweaked a few things and, even though it's only a slight change, he's looking a lot better: The left one is the old one, and the right is new. I didn't adjust the shape of the neck base simply because I didn't intend for it to be a perfect circle. It's actually got a more hexagonal or squarish shape, much like the holes for the legs.
  24. Firstly, Awesome job on the background so far, Coop! It's looking real nice. Just when the judges thought they had everything under control comes... Queue Tortoise! I put him between Chill Penguin and Flame Mammoth to give an idea of how big he is. Honestly, I don't know if I'll ever be able to finish him up as it takes me a really long time just to make one image, but if anyone wants to try giving him some moves, I can send you all his separated parts. EDIT: As for how 4-Tan attacks, y'know, she does have a guitar. You could simply place it behind her like she's wearing it in Blackmyst's drawings when doing normal moves. And if Wingless wouldn't mind tossing in a super quick 2-3 frame animation of her strumming every time she fires, it'd work perfectly. She could shoot out waveforms like the one up at the top of the site even. And in the event that she does obtain powers from the enemies she's defeated, it could add a certain type of effect to her guitar. Like "Time Distortion" for beating Queue Tortoise, or some sort of Wah-wah from a whining boss. Of course this is all pretty much against the KISS method, but I had the idea and needed to post it.
