  1. HOLY ****! I'm late to the party here, but DAMN, I like this better than the original. <3 JJT, you've outdone yourself yet again.
  2. So I'm planning on going, but DAMN, Gaylord is sold out.
  3. Took some feedback into account: Sped up the tempo to 90bpm, got a different beat and processed it. Just generally messed around the mix. Gonna look into spicing up the pad a bit, possibly getting an e-piano groove going. Not sure what else what else. Been experimenting with the structure, but I'm honestly kind of clueless. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4pl7bl9kcsj490o/end%20JFA%20new%20beat.mp3?dl=0
  4. The OCR suite is *the* place to hang out though, tons of fun happening. Lots of great memories.
  5. Is that when MAG14 gets announced? I know it's probably a dumb question, but bear with me here, I've been out of the loop since M5 haha.
  6. Thank you for your help! I've tweaked my kick for more bass, swung the 16ths and extended it a bit. https://www.dropbox.com/s/d57uq2etw8uz7nl/end%20JFA%20v0.2.mp3?dl=0
  7. Coming back from the dead. Still with a bad case of the post-MAG blues. And the highlight, is, was and always will be hanging out with you lovely people. <3
  8. Hi all! Haven't been around here in ages, but I'm happy to be making game remixes a gain! I wanted to tackle a new genre, so I started jamming out to the Justice for All ending thing, possibly my favorite song in the game, and came up with this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fhcs32whyf8ehi4/end%20JFA.mp3?dl=0 I want to get into making hip hop beats, but I have NO idea what I'm doing, looking forward to any feedback! I was thinking of swinging the 16ths for one thing. Thank in advance.
  9. Big, heartfelt thanks for your support! I really hope you enjoy it.
  10. Thanks for taking time to listen! Oh yes, that one. I'm just a sucker for that sort of retro-ish, funky, disco-ey, smooth-jazzy sort of thing. I'll take clean-tone soloing over mega-overdrive-distortion-soloing anytime.
  11. Just a quick heads up: 'The First Step...' is now available at iTunes and other major digital music retailers!
  12. For some reason, the 'Send message' link on your profile isn't working. Send me a message via the link in Bandcamp ('for all other inquiries'), it'll go straight to my email and we can talk through there.
  13. Just did, apparently I couldn't find a way to reply through there. I was not aware of it.
  14. Heartfelt thanks for your support! The 90's and early 2000's post-grunge and punk bands are definitely my biggest influences.
  15. Ladies and gents, I'm proud to present to you my first full-length album, 'The First Step to Nowhere'! It has 12 tracks, all originals, 10 of which are vocal songs. It's been on-and-off in production for about 2 years, but a lot of the ideas for these songs are quite old (as early as 2005), it feels nice to finally see them take shape. It also features lyric writing by our own Level 99! The title came about when I gave up engineering school to pursue my dream of a career in the music industry. Had my fair share of people tell me it'll lead nowhere, but it's a hard road I tread onto with pride. The music itself is really just me doing what I love most, and letting creativity run wherever it wants. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy! Listen/buy links: Bandcamp CDBaby Facebook (Music store app) iTunes Amazon Fellow brazilians, if you'd like to buy the album, don't go to Bandcamp. Unfortunately, Bandcamp doesn't let me charge BRL and Paypal won't let brazilians pay USD to other brazilians, sorry. Again, I hope y'all enjoy, and thanks for check it out!
  16. Thanks. I actually had to bring up the mids quite a lot, and de-ess it. I'm very partial to the Harmon mute sound (blame Miles Davis ), but it gets RIDICULOUSLY harsh REALLY easily.
  17. Thanks everyone for your kind words and trumpet advice! darkbrandflake11, is a certain dynamic level necessary to play with flutter tongue and/or growl? Or even for that high note? How would a trumpet player realistically play that note? Forgive my ignorance, I haven't had the chance to play with that many trumpet players. Or even brass players in general, so my knowledge of them is, as of yet, quite limited. audio fidelity, it's alright. I actually love book recommendations, I learned pretty much 90% of what I know about production etc from books, so... EDIT: I googled the books you mentioned, but for the first one, I only found one called "The Jazz Theory Book" by Mark Levine, is that the one you meant? I actually started reading that book about a year ago, but stopped midway.
  18. Thanks for listening! I agree with you too, it's one of the things I'm hoping to learn to do better, fake trumpet. There's this one particular note where I added some growl/fluttertonguing, but it's a bit high, and I'm not sure if it's even possible, at 0:35.
  19. I'd love to check out these books! Thanks.
  20. Thanks! I go to Berklee, so while I do actively study harmony, it's not yet particularly Jazz harmony or reharmonization. But we'll eventually get there at some point. I didn't at all attempt to reharmonize, though. I literally picked up a lead sheet for it online, and went from there.
  21. I did this for my Arranging I final project, been exploring the colors of jazz. It's been quite enjoyable, but I'm still a newcomer to the style. Any and every kind of constructive feedback is very welcome! 'Technical' shit: Drums: Superior 2.0 stock library. Piano: Kontakt NI Alicia's Keys library. Trumpet: Kontakt The Trumpet library. Bass: Kontakt CoreBass Pear library. Guitar: live through Waves GTR. YouTube: SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/luiza177/secret-of-the-forest-jazz Note that the mixes are slightly different in each link, but YouTube version being the more recent one. EDIT: I'm also open to better title suggestions.
  22. I adore the atmosphere in this song. Especially since these are two of my favorite track in the soundtrack, "Silence Before The Storm" being perhaps one of my all-time favorite game songs. The synthetic/acoustic blend was very tasteful, I really liked the piano and pads. But the drums seemed like they just happened to be playing at the same time, they don't sit very well in the mix and/or are just way too busy at times. Perhaps the "Silence..." part would've benefited from rhythmic displacement in the melody, but that's just me being nitpicky now. Anyway, thanks for remixing these songs, it's going to my playlist
  23. hmmm.. when I heard of this, I thought it was something to use on pre-recorded guitars, as in amp mic'ed guitars. Interesting.
  24. I feel a little bad for the shameless self-promotion, but there's also "Shiny New Ferrari" for ska-punk stuff. Ska, Reggae/Dub and punk really are a big part of what I love to do most. For straight up punk (if it also interests you), there's CarboHydroM and JAXX.
