  6. This track is an underrated classic on OC Remix. Ziwtra gives one of my favorite tracks from the incredible FFVIII soundtrack some jazzish-electronic loving and it is good.

  16. Man, I really like this Vurez fellow. All of his mixes thus far are fun and creative. I have to say, I like this one more than "Flurry", though. The use of an "Ennio Morricone-esque" style is apparent in both, but here it fits in with the groove a lot better and makes for some hawt western beat biaz. The instrumentation just rawks my socks off and I love the attention to panning out the various sounds. This is a well deserved OC Remix. I can't wait for more from this fellow. Furthermore, djp, to address your earlier comment in a manner that is both mature and appropriate. IGA SUCKS BOO HISSS KOUGA 4 LIFE NAH NAH NAH BOO BOO
  17. Haha. Anyways, Dan B is in the process of writing a review of the project, so expect that soon. Also, I get interviewed by Rayza for VGDJ regarding the project tomorrow. Bust shots at Big Ben like we got time to kill!
  18. Thanks for the link, Scott. The way you've reworked it is quite interesting, right down to the vocal clips. Also, I don't know why I haven't commented on this track yet. Shocking, considering it IS the track that single-handedly led me to OCR. Back in 2001, when I was downloading (legally) the Chrono Cross soundtrack from Kazaa, I stumbled upon a retagged version of this track that listed the artist as Scott Peeples and gave no other information. I loved the emotion and beauty of the song, listening to it all the time. Only later in 2002, during an internet search, I found out that the song was from Overclocked Remix, and thus I found this site for the first time. So, thanks man, for this remix. It means a lot to me.
  19. The slide button? edit: if one were so inclined (probably won't work with most non-Fruity vsts) one could use the slide notes to create a rudimentary form of automation of panning, volume, pitch, etc.
  20. It's a weird bug that I really have no idea how to fix. FL apparently sends some sort of MIDI message to all plugins when you hit play, and some plugins reset parameters when you do that. Mm. Thanks anyways, Zirc. I know I bugged you about this before.
  21. Really? News to me... I guess you know what you're talking about, you seem fairly confident. haha. I don't know where you got that idea. I really should put a "By the way, I'm a guy" page on djredlight.com. Glad you enjoyed my mixes but, whether you enjoyed them more thinking i was a chick is another matter hahaha. Might be the picture here. I'll admit, that does look like a woman.
  22. Please forgive me if this has been covered before, but I need to know. I'm running Kompakt as a VST through Fruity Loops, and I like to tweak the parameters for an instrument within the Kompakt interface (panning, EQ, volume, etc), however, when I hit play in FL, all the tweaking defaults back to zero. What am I doing wrong?
  23. Saw this come back up on the Reviews forum and I figured I'd review it. I remember reading somewhere that lots of people consider djp's older (old school) mixes a tad "immature" in comparison to his newer stuff. [edit: it was in the review thread for AMEN Reflux] While I do agree that the older David Lloyd works are more cartoony and wild, to me that is not necessarily a bad thing, especially in the case of this one. Whenever I make an OCR CD, this goes on it at some point. I'm not a huge fan of Actraiser or its music, but this is the funk, the freshness. The scratching, vocal samples, distorted synths all scream of old school hip hop goodness. When :18 hits, my head starts bobbing (I love that gated sample tons). This mix keeps the energy flowing and the beat funks up the place. I can easily imagine a heavy breakin session taking place over this groove. Always has been one of my favorite OCRs.
