  1. How do I do that? I only have one instance of kontakt, but several instances of PLAY. Come to think of it, all the instruments that are dropping are PLAY instruments, I think.
  2. http://www.geoffreytaucer.com/wips/underseapalace.mp3 Some dropoffs that I can't manage to get rid of, but this should give you the idea of where I'm going with it.
  3. No synths, but some HUGE samples. EWQLSO (the play version) RA (play version) SD2 Kontakt (sitar nation, spiritual wind) Moseph: Haven't tried yet; I'll give it a shot later tonight
  4. A current (enormous) project of mine sounds great when I listen to the project itself, but when I render to .wav, notes keep dropping out. I'll hear the first 10th of a second or so of the note, then the instrument goes silent until the next note is played. Any idea what might be causing this or how to fix it? I'm using sonar 6, if that helps.
  5. Yes. I fucking loved that game. Actually I think I'm gonna go start another play through now that I'm thinking about it.
  6. Well, let's see.... Chrono Trigger Chrono Cross Xenogears Mario RPG Beyond Good and Evil Mario bros 1-3, world, yoshi's island, 64, and galaxy DKC 1-3 Zelda LA, LttP, OoT, WW, and TP (started but never finished Zelda 1 and 2) Prince of Persia Beyond Good and Evil There are probably a few games missing from this list, but I don't think there are very many. I guess generally I tend more towards more action-y games and get bored before finishing RPGs, but obviously there are plenty of exceptions.
  7. I'm Geoffrey Taucer pretty much everywhere (including the Rennaissance Faire.)
  8. Thank you. And most of them I played at least halfway through. I played FF3, FF6, FF7, FF8, and FF9 more than halfway through. And honestly I really loved 3 and 6, and thought 9 wasn't too bad -- I just never finished them.
  9. Hi, I'm Geoffrey Taucer, and I have never finished a single Final Fantasy game. (Though I've played every single one up through 9 -- including the ones that weren't released in the US)
  10. Haha, me too. I wasn't sure which of us he was referring to.
  11. Huzzah! Nice work!
  12. After my first competition (in january), I sorta slacked off for awhile. A couple weeks ago, however, the date of the qualifiers for the National Gymnastics Championships was announced, and I've been training like crazy since then. I've mostly been focusing on getting my endurance up; my floor routine consists of five tumbling passes (and I'd like to add a sixth eventually), but after the fourth pass I'm always dead tired. And the qualifying meet is in Colorado Springs, at 5000 ft of elevation.
  13. Also: I still think you should call it "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Destruction"
  14. Well, the project was started before this thread was started. Still.... that's bizzarre. If I recall correctly, tepid was still sending me unfinished WIPs well after that...
  15. I've been thinking for awhile that something like this could work great for pikmin. A whole post-apocalyptic thing would really explain a lot with that game.
  16. Erm... note to remixers on the project; I would prefer that you ask me and Wes first if you want to release your track elsewhere. Or at the very least, let us know you're going to do so...
  17. We have a gameover mix by mithius.
  18. I've heard Andy talking about this, but somehow missed this thread up to now. Sounds like exactly the drum kit I've been looking for for ages! I especially love that vintage snare sound. Any idea what sort of price range we'd be looking at? I'd love to get this if I can afford it...
  19. I think it would be great to have something like that as a side-nugget which is unnecessary to the actual game -- sort of like how you cna learn the history of each planet you go to in Metroid Prime 3. Also: AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH$#*^&*@&$*@#$*&@#^$*
  20. Wrong. The limit is 6 MB, period. If it's 6MB and one byte, it's over the limit. Fortunately, this is easily fixable with VBR. As for whether the mix is OCR-ready.... I'm really on the fence here. I wouldn't be shocked if it got accepted, I wouldn't be shocked if it didn't; I'd say the latter is a little more likely, though. Were I a judge, here are the grounds on which I might be inclined to reject it: while there is a lot of variation in the melodies, some very creative use of other themes, etc, it is still rythmically and structurally very similar to the original mineshaft theme. However, I think it's reached the point where it's worth submitting. If it makes the cut, great! If not, the judges thread will likely be very useful in improving the track. Good luck!
  21. I don't know my Zelda plotlines as well as I used to, but let's see here... The paradox implied by the ending of Ocarina of Time bothered me back when I first played it. The split timeline theory would make sense, if only because the Cel-shaded games don't make any sense at all as canon to a single timeline. I believe you're right about Majora's Mask; it is never really indicated that Link returns to Hyrule. I'll have to give it some thought, and I may have to go back and play through the ending of a couple of games while I'm at it.
  22. Words cannot describe the magnitude of awesome in this mix.
