This is true when he's facing left or right, but when he's facing up or down, he's always had his sword in his left hand, all the way back to the original on NES

There is hardly a single detail about this that isn't absolutely hilarious. Are we getting punk'd here?
-
God damn this looks so awesome. But do I really want to buy a PS3 for just one game?
-
Different type of biased from that being discussed. When we say there's no bias or favoritism, we mean that well-known remixers don't automatically get posted just because they're well known.

Tune your guitar and back off a bit on the chorus effect.

Ooh, one of my favorite vg tunes of all time. This is... well, it's pretty much a straight up cover, with a couple of wrong notes on the lead guitar. And to clarify, there's nothing wrong with straight up covers, especially when the source is as unbelievably awesome as this, but keep in mind you'll need a lot more interperetation if you want this mix to get past the judges. Production is a bit wierd; the biggest issue is that the bass has far too much presence, making the leads weak by comparison.
-
Completely true. And completely obvious, if you look at recent judges decisions; just looking at the first page, there are rejected mixes by such proven artists as halcyon and sixto.
-
If you think the new mixes don't have the same soul as the old ones, just listen to it on a shitty soundcard and all will be fine.

Not laughed so hard at a game since...

Yes, very hard. I have a pretty dark sense of humor. -

Mother 3. "Ok, wow, I've got some really good news and some really bad news! The good news is I found this fang that'll be great for use as a weapon! The bad news is where I found it... it was impaled through your wife." (that may not be correct word-for-word, but that's the gist of it) -
Donkey Kong Country 2: Serious Monkey Business - History

Haha, I only just recently (as in a month or two ago) beat the game for the first time, and just this past week got 102% completion. The lost world is brutal -- the game designers pulled some brilliantly sadistic dick moves in some of those levels. -
Brambles Open Minds Like Bubbles (Finished)

This mix is utterly fucked up, bizzarre, trippy, and just plain wierd. I approve. -
OSHIT! Did I miss the classical music penisfight?

Chrono Trigger Undersea Palace

Actually, this is exactly what I was going for: bare, harsh, and exposed. More like sound effects and wankery than melodic soloing. -

OCR01847 - Final Fantasy VII "The Shinra Shuffle"
Geoffrey Taucer replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Right from the first sax note, this mix is just pure awesome. Excellent performances. A bit louder and more compressed than I would have liked for a live performance like this, but otherwise strong production. -
Ah. Also, when are you going to return to "you have been brought here to die?"
-
Isn't that the whole point of the song? I always thought it was deliberately written to be creepy. Look, singers are just like authors; when they say "I" in their work, it doesn't necessarily refer to the artist. They aren't necessarily writing songs about themselves. If you want somebody who does something similar (and much more blatantly), look at Randy Newman. Do you think he actually believes we should blow up the rest of the world? Do you think he actually hates short people? Of course not. Billy Joel, Sting, etc, they're no different. THeir songs aren't necessarily about themselves. "Every Breath you Take" is a perfect example.

MY FIRST MIXES (omgsobad)
Geoffrey Taucer replied to Geoffrey Taucer's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Yes, there was some Radical Dreamers in there. JJT: lemme see if I can dig up some of my old midi remixes. -
OCR isn't demanding that you do anything. The difference is location; it's unreasonable for a religious organisation to try to make us show that level of reverence here on OCR, because OCR is not a religious organization. If we were to, say, walk into your church and fail to show proper reverence to your beliefs, you would be within your rights to take offense. But quite simply, this is OCR's turf, not the church's. Therefore OCR's rules are accepted over the church's. Any attempt to censor somebody else's actions on their own turf based on what would be offensive on your turf is, by definiton, intolerant. I think Dave's post was absolutely correct.

MY FIRST MIXES (omgsobad)
Geoffrey Taucer replied to Geoffrey Taucer's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I sampled it myself (from my shitty radioshack keyboard)! I was quite proud of that.
