I remember coming across a cover of that credits theme on a file sharing website several years ago. If I can find it again, I'll post it here.

There was a Super Mario RPG arrangement album released earlier this year: Heavy Troopa Is Ready To Launch! It's not an OCR album, but it does have songs by Mazedude and The OneUps, both of which have remixes here.

Or ya know... a remake of Metroid 2: Return of Samus from the GB done right without being in developement hell..?
http://metroid2remake.blogspot.com/
I dunno if that fits your definition of 'done right', but if Nintendo were to release a remake like that, I know I'd buy it.

Just wanted to let everyone know, the Project Chaos site is down, for whatever reason. Maybe someone forgot to pay the bill. >.>
I just send an email off to BLueBeRRyKiWi, the guy who took care of hosting the site. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly.

JigginJonT and I even did searches for his name on those "people search" sites and called the numbers of many people with the name "Gary Alexander" (there is no "Gray Alexander".)
Just out of curiosity, I did some searches on a few phone listing pages, and I found several people with the name Gray Alexander: one in South Carolina, one in Pennsylvania, and one in California. I've also found several listings for Grayson Alexander and Grayling Alexander.
I'm reluctant to post the contact information here, mainly out of respect for the privacy of these people, but if anyone wants to attempt calling or writing either of these people, I can pass the info along.

The got fuckin' video game music on vinyl?! GODDAMN!!!
Not quite. Final Fantasy is a Canadian solo artist. He has done video game music, though. From what I've read, one of his earliest projects was scoring part of a game, and one of the songs on his first album is essentially a cover of the Star Maze music from Mario Land 2.

I've got about 80+ vinyl, ranging from classic rock and disco to jazz and classical. I've bought most of them used at a local used record store, but I've also bought the occasional new record online.
Some of my favorites:
-Bobby Shad and the Bad Men - A 65 Piece Rock Workshop
-Claudja Barry - I Wanna Be Loved By You (one of my favorites as a kid; it's pressed on transparent red vinyl)
-Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place (the b-side of LP2 has a pretty neat etching)
-Final Fantasy - Many Lives -> 49mp (7")
-Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass - Greatest Hits (FINALLY found this one earlier this week!)
-Led Zeppelin - IV/untitled (My father's copy. It's not in the best condition, but it plays through fine)
-Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother
-Pink Floyd - Obscured By Clouds
-Pink Floyd - Ummagumma

Anyone else plan on spending the night gazing at the sky?
Peak time is from 10 pm August 11 into the following morning until 4 am.

'My Frequency is 140.85' is by virt. (I think) it was the first song posted on the current incarnation of VGMix.
'Crystal Flash' is also by virt, from January 2005's Dwelling of Duels competition.
'Brinstar Unplugged' is also from DOD (January/February 2006)
'Protect the Starbase' (TMNT4) looks familiar; a quick google search reveals that it's a rejected mix by a mixer named Groggie.
In fact, googling each individual remix name might be a good idea.

I just downloaded this, and will probably play through it later on tonight.
I noticed a pxtone.dll file in the zip. Any chance that the developers of this game are somehow connected with Pixel (of Cave Story fame)? Or did they just use his music software?
-
I don't suppose "I didn't like it" will do.
Just say that you "feel that it just isn't right for you", and you should be good to go.
-
I was thinking about doing something similar with this song some time ago. Needless to say, yours is infinitely better than anything I could have pulled off. Very nice indeed!
edit: I shared it with a few friends outside of OCR. Credit was given, of course. Hope you don't mind.
-
Glad to see that you're feeling better!
...
Equally glad to find out you've got some remixes on the way. Can't wait to hear 'em!

I finally played through the game, start-to-finish, last winter. Even though I enjoyed it, I'm kinda glad they decided to release the veggie-pullin' SMB2 in place of the Japanese SMB2. I know for a fact that I would have become WAY too frustrated if I had attempted it when I was younger.
For me, that's Mario 3, hands down.Does anyone else think this is the best Mario game ever, or maybe the best platformer ever? -
I'm assuming the 'it' you are referring to is the third-party backup device.But.... what about when it's battery begins to fail?If the one you get is anything like the one I own (the one I linked earlier), there's no battery to worry about:
-
Crap.
I wish all the best for Jordan. Hang in there, man.
If anyone puts together a get well card, let me know.
-
Old thread, but I wanted to drop in and say thanks for the clarifications and the guide to replacing the battery.
Cheers
Did it work alright?

I just did a little research on the problem, and I came across a random forum post that said to try leaving it at the login screen for a few minutes while Windows installs the drivers. I dunno if that'll actually work, but it's worth a shot.
I also read something about enabling legacy USB / keyboard support in the BIOS, but again, I'm not sure if that will make any difference.

I've considered buying a DS many times, but the lack of GB support is the main thing holding me back right now. I've got more GB/GBC games than I do GBA, and I still play them from time to time.Or are you playing lots of old GameBoy carts on it still? That's the only thing I don't like about the DS. -
Thanks! Tweaking that potentiometer a little did the trick. Now it's as good as new.Somewhere underneath the label on the back, there's supposed to be a screw you can turn to adjust the contrast. Might or might not help. -
You might want to check out the Guides and Tutorials section on the forums, particularly the threads on starting to remix and mixing for free (if that's what you're looking for...).
As for specific programs, I'd recommend trying out several different ones and seeing what works best for you. Two of the more common programs used around here, FL Studio and Reason both offer demos on their website.
Welcome to OCR. Enjoy your stay!

eBay auction. It was one of those mothers selling her child's stuff type of deals.
...
Totally worth it.
Very similar to what is probably the best deal I've ever got:
Dreamcast (with all cables)
2 controllers
1 third party memory card
Soul Calibur (which wasn't even on the eBay listing! )
NBA 2K1
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
Expendable (still don't think I've even tried that)
two or three demo discs (from magazines, etc)
2 N64 memory cards (...?)
I think it cost me around $45-50 CDN. That was several years ago, and I can't quite remember the exact amount. It was probably another case of a parent selling their child's stuff... why else would there be N64 memory cards included?
Recently, I traded an old copy of Pokemon Silver for the GBA remake of Donkey Kong Country 3. Others may beg to differ, but it was a great deal in my opinion.
EDIT: I also got a copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day for $10 once. Gave it to my brother as a Christmas gift.

I read the news when I got home this evening. Seems kind of sudden, it wasn't too long ago that he was touring with Gilmour.
RIP, Rick.
