My journey through OCR 1-1000

The quality rock stuff's been around a while, which is a bit of a surprise. I've done this same thing a long time ago, and I'm supposed to keep this up so that I'm always caught up, but I'm not always the type to listen to music while I'm 'net browsing, and I haven't had much time otherwise for critical listening, so I'm backed up again, at least with the last 200 or so mixes. It's tough to keep up: people want song updates at a rapid clip, but sometimes I actually wish Dave would slow down with the song posts. I used to make a checklist and knock off each letter of the alphabet for game titles until done. One thing I did learn long ago is to try not to listen to several mixes of the same source at once. Another thing: the amount of Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger tunes is obviously, depressingly gargantuan, and had to be kept aside in its own category for a LONG time, chipped at a little at a time for months until I was finally through. It did, however, help me to get around to listening to the original CT music (never could find the time to play these classic RPGs), and I love it to death now. Also, like music everywhere else, a small percentage of the product to me are keepers (but there's a lot of quality here). Out of - where are we now, 1700+? - songs, I've got over 350 kept so far. -
So I just picked up Okami today.

That's exactly what I meant that you meant. We've covered all this before. They're going to the bank anyway. Dave and Larry can tell you how complex a legal matter it may have been... in the real world, two games is probably more than we have a right to expect. Back on topic now. Sorry. -

I personally laugh at any implication Capcom's HD Remix somehow wouldn't generate anywhere near the profit that it would had it not used fan arrangements that are derivative renditions of their own property in the first place. -

I got the same SFHD dealie, and I'm hoping Capcom's website is not completely accurate when it tells me not a single damn game I have any interest in is either unavailable or out of print. So, here's hoping for PS2 Okami. -

Guess who? I'm for all of it, too. I'd better start planning. -
Any VGmusic sequencers here?
José the Bronx Rican replied to Sole Signal's topic in General Discussion
I thought you knew, Larry; we called him "Cloudy Bear" over there. Everything I've done is also on my site. And since I've learned to make use of FL Studio's MIDI tools, I'm back on that hobby. I'm currently working on some "Atomic Runner." EDIT: I forgot, we also have Arrowned in the place. -
The first perfect example that popped in my head is on the album version of jamiroquai's "Space Cowboy." Most of you should know what I mean, but if you like, I'll upload a snippet later. Would that be a "tag" as well?

*salute*, natch. And to tha Sauce for which he stands. -
Everything on the first post of this page that says "Tweaker's Version" is still available. Or do you mean something else?
-
While I wait for "validation" in order to post at the project forum (!), howzat for first contribution? Aquatic Ruin: premaster (this'll be the only time; I don't wanna make this a WIP thread or anything)
-
The irony there is, unless I'm missing something, you can't get anything through the torrent. You'd think they'd seed their own content. Maybe they did before, and gave up?

The Intrinsic Worth of Classical Musicians
José the Bronx Rican replied to xRisingForce's topic in General Discussion
Anything you can do to facilitate my velocitous extramuralization. -
I thought "Special Stage" wasn't done yet, before I realized that's what Shariq offered. I'd probably work on the smaller stuff that hasn't been covered yet. "Aquatic Ruin"'s almost ready. I'll soon get on that board.
-
I spent my lunch break at work considering the possibility of contributing. An hour later, I had an 80% complete "Aquatic Ruin." I guess that's an affirmative. I'll also see about Special Stage and 2-Player Casino Night.

Something for djp to look into?
-
Excellent. Along with all the obvious choices (all SOR, Sonic, Shinobi and Tecnosoft titles, etc.), I'll also add: The Incredible Hulk Rolling Thunder 2 Gaiares Atomic Runner Batman [sunsoft] Trouble Shooter Fantasm Soldier Valis Valis III

Besides his Megabyte, I liked his Shere Khan in TaleSpin. Hell, even his live role alongside Lois & Clark's Lex Luthor character.

Pez, here's something to appreciate: the fact that although no one hires the older voice actors anymore, and Welker must be pushing 100 right now, he's STILL picked to do animals. You'd think someone else out there would be able to by now. Anyway, he's done plenty of speaking roles back in the day. I don't even have to look at imdb... off the top of my head: Freddy (Scooby-Doo), Wild Bill, Shortfuse, Torch (G.I. Joe), Megatron, Soundwave, Mixmaster, Rumble, Frenzy, Skywarp, Ravage, Mirage (Transformers*), Marvin, Mr. Mxyzptlk, Toyman (Superfriends), Gogo Dodo (Tiny Toons), Glove, Mechanic, Chopper (Bionic Six), etc. etc. etc. Besides those mentioned, also off the top of my head... I'm quite old-school, so props to the back-in-the-day legends, who had plenty of work in radio and knew how to enunciate a line perfectly: Mel Blanc (of course), June Foray, Olan Soule (first animated Batman), Alan Reed (original Fred Flintstone), Don Messick (Scooby-Doo, Dr. Quest, Dr. Zin, bunches of others), Stan Freberg (Pete "Eeeeeeehhh" Puma), Daws Butler (Yogi Bear and 90 percent of early Hanna-Barbera), Casey Kasem (Robin, Shaggy, Alexander Cabot III, Cliffjumper)... Also to the Saturday morning legends: Peter Cullen (OPTIMUS PRIME!!!!, Ironhide, Eeyore, Meps, Admiral Grimitz, original Monterey Jack, Officer Muldoon AND Officer Kirby), Rob Paulsen (Raphael, Gusto Gummi, Pinky, Yakko Warner, Mighty Max, etc.), Paul Winchell (Zummi Gummi, Dick Dastardly, Gargamel, original Tigger), Chris Latta (Starscream, Sparkplug, Gung Ho, Wheeljack, Darkstorm, Cobra Commander)... Special props to James Avery, 'cause, let's face it, the Shredder's voice was endless entertainment, even more so when you found out he played Fresh Prince's Uncle Phil. *TRANSFORMERS MENTION ALERT!! (been a long time since I used this)

If I'm right, Doug was piccing pixie, piccing me, piccing Doug. So advanced, it's simple. Pixie gives great tongue. I will burn. Photo composite. I asked to be snapshotted seperately from Jill's second "ninja" group shot. Now you know why. -

An "arty" shot of Doug, and the goose-stepping kid for the bonus. At a field during Flower Mart. This is what zircon very nearly sat in. Peabody. Everybody DS y'all, before the strange and interesting recital Doug participated in. -

My few pics: Ordering at Gigi's. Always a pleasure there. Was this sign always there? It came from New York? Outside Pixie's (soon to be former). There were exactly twelve of us at the time, but we didn't manage any Street Fighter group pose. We did get the movie ending later. Groan if you want. I think Doug was feigning nervous unsteadiness. Or a brain tumor.
